Three children in acid accident

Share

Three children of Mulenga Township in Kitwe are admitted to Kitwe Central Hospital after an acid tanker crushed into the house they were sleeping in Monday night.

Kitwe Central Hospital Spokesperson Grey Chishimba told ZNBC News that one of the children sustained a fractured skull while the other two are reported to be fine.

The three children were all rescued from the debris of the extensively damaged house.

Mr. Chishimba named the three as Regina Chisenga aged two years, Theresa Chisenga, 11, and Sara Chisenga one year and five months old.

The accident happened after the acid tanker hit into a truck which had broken down and then careered off the road and landed on the house where the children were sleeping.

By Tuesday morning the acid tanker was still parked at the damaged house while the other truck was parked along the Kitwe Ndola Dual Carriageway.

  1. Thank God the children are ok.

But why is a tanker with potentially toxic acid still parked at the scene? Waiting for another disaster to happen?

  2. Number 1, my thinking too. A fellow phd student has gone to investigate why the tanker is not cleared yet. We thank God that the children are ok.

  3. The owners of that Lorry should now take it upon themselves to compensate the family by means of rebuilding and medical costs.

  4. LT, your headlines can make someone mad “THREE CHILDREN IN ACID ACCIDENT” I thot they accidentally drank the staff or it spilled on them and caused harm on their bodies. The accident was to do with the truck ‘carrying acid’ and not with the acid itself. but THANX TO GOD FOR SAVING THOSE 3 PRECIOUS LIVES. matero university students thanx to u too.

  5. So this house hold only had children living in it ???? What about the adults , where were they ??

  6. Too bad, i hope matero PhD will see to it that justice prevails. Full compensation , rebuild hse, etc council should also check how far the hse is from the road ahhhhh..no they should not check because these poor families will loose on compensation

  7. In Acid Accident??? Very misleading headline because the Acid was not involved in any way but the Truck.
