RB’s accuse gave wrong details

Share

The Judiciary has failed to respond to former High Commissioner to Malawi and Botswana Milton Phiri’s claims that President Rupiah Banda was not born in Zambia because he gave wrong contact details.

The Judiciary says Mr Phiri gave wrong residential address, while his mobile phone number is permanently unavailable.

The Judiciary received a letter from Mr. Milton Phiri, addressed to the Chief Justice on June 3.

Mr. Phiri’s contact address as indicated on the letter are Plot No. 11/26 Katima Mulilo Road, Garden; Lusaka.

However, according to Judiciary Public Relations Officer Terry Musonda, attempts made on the same day to serve a reply to Mr. Milton Phiri failed as it turned out that the address indicated on the application letter is either non-existent or wrong.

Mr. Phiri’s application to the Judiciary was delivered by a Mr. Chansa Mwape, who indicated that his residential address is Plot No. 48, Nangwenya Road, Rhodespark, Lusaka and NRC as 288158/84/1.

But efforts to serve a reply to Mr. Milton Phiri via the address of his agents Mr Mwape, also proved futile as his address also turned out to be non-existent or wrong altogether.

According to Mr Musonda, further attempts have been made to contact either Mr. Milton Phiri on his cell -phone number or Mr. Mwape, but all in vain as both mobile numbers are permanently off or unavailable.

The Judiciary is now appealing to either Mr. Milton Phiri or Mr. Chansa Mwape to collect the letter from the Supreme Court.

Mr. Phiri has written to Chief Justice Ernest Sakala claiming that President Banda’s father was not born in Zambia.

But relatives of the President and chiefs in Eastern province have denounced the claims as false.

  1. The Judiciary should reply through the media for all those doubting Rupia Banda’s birth details and those of his parents to read for themselves so we can get geared for the campaigns. After all Parliament has already adjourned. Its time to move on.

  2. I will not be surprised if Phiri is arrested. The problem is the unplanned settlements. Nkhani ya ma house number kulibe.

  3. How can a guy make such a claim he does not even provide his correct home address?
I think Zambia is full of jokers

  4. This story is misleading. The Judiciary did not fail to respond to Milton Phiri’s letter. In fact, the Judiciary responded the letter on the same day (03/06/2011) it was delivered but what has been problematic is the delivery of the response due to wrong address which Mr. Phiri indicated on the letter. The following is the Press Statement, in parts: The Judiciary wishes to set records straight on this matter to both the general public and the media as follows … And that the letter was delivered by hand by a Mr. Chansa Mwape, whose NRC is 288158/84/1, who stated that his residential address was Plot No. 48, Nangwenya Road, Rhodespark, Lusaka. His Lordship, the Hon. Chief Justice responded to the letter the same day on 3rd June, 2011 …

  5. (iii) That attempts were made, the same day, to serve the letter to Mr. Milton Phiri on the address he indicated on his letter as Plot No. 11/26 Katima Mulilo Road, Garden; but it turned out that his address was either non existent or wrong.

Also efforts were made to serve Mr. Milton Phiri on the address of Mr. Chansa Mwape, the person who delivered the letter. But this address too turned out to be non existent or was wrong.

    (v) Further attempts were also and still been made to contact either Mr. Milton Phiri on the cell – phone: 0979 511105, or Mr. Chansa Mwape, but this has failed too, as his mobile phone is permanently off todate.

  6. We, therefore, appeal to either Mr. Milton Phiri or indeed Mr. Chansa Mwape to come forward to collect the letter which is available for collection.

The Judiciary has taken this path purely because Mr. Milton Phiri himself chose to go to the Media on this matter.

  7. He & his agent did well to give false addresses,am sure they have to protect themselves in a country where political leaders have the right to eliminate who they want,i wouldn’t give them my ****ing address too coz next thing is that i’ll see a truckload of paid stinking cadres coming to stone me to death.

  8. @7, typical pf cadres, they don’t even know what they want. and surely pf and mmembe want zambia to stand still for such rub.bish? if pf is going to waste our time like this, would we say that they have the interests of the people of zambia at heart?

  9. on a serious note, maybe mr milton phiri has no fixed abode, explains his licking the ar.ses of post and pf to earn some money for rent and chi banzi.

  10. What line of thinking is this; “.The Judiciary says Mr Phiri gave wrong residential address,…..However, according to Judiciary Public Relations Officer Terry Musonda, attempts made on the same day to serve a reply to Mr. Milton Phiri failed as it turned out that the address indicated on the application letter is either non-existent or wrong.”? I FIND IT IT DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND HOW THE ADDRESS COULD BE EITHER NON-EXISTENT OR WRONG….. TELL US JST 1 THING AND BE SPECIFIC ON HOW YOU ATTEMPTED SEND A REPLY BUT YOU ENDED UP ON “EITHER……. OR…….”

  11. I have just been watching a program about gang warfare in El Salvador. Corruption among politicians, the police and the judiciary has led to a situation where people in townships and shanties live in fear of violence while drug dealing and corrupt politicians live in luxury. This is what Rupiah and his gang of blood suckers are creating. Good luck to all the pea brains in this hell hole called Zambia.

  12. The Judiciary should take the response to Cockpit. Therein they shall find one Milton Phiri. Intoxicated to the hilt!

  13. Enerst Sakala should have responded through the Media. Can you please do that for public consumption as was the allegations.

  14. Name: Mr Milton Phiri.
    Place of birth: somewhere.
Date of birth: sometime. Address: No fixed abode.
    Occupation: Diabolos diplomat.
    Hobbies: Lexicography

  15. Such chaps should be discplined. There are too many indiscplined elements in the Zambian society who think press freedom means saying anything you dream of. People spent their hard earned K3,000 to buy newspapers enmass that day to read Milton Phiri’s story’s claims. Meanwhile he gave a fake phone number and house number. So now its either he was clowning or wants to live in a fantasy spy reality show. Those asking for the chief Justice to make the response in the media should not belittle GRZ 1 to that level.
