The United Party for National Development-UPND in Mongu has castigated PF leader Michael Sata for failing to attend Dr. Chiluba’s funeral.
UPND Mongu District Vice Chairperson Zita Sipalo says Mr. Sata should have buried his political differences and join in mourning Dr. Chiluba with dignity.
Ms. Sipalo says it is unfortunate that Mr. Sata who is aspiring to become President can stay away from a former president’s funeral.
And Mongu District Commissioner Jethrow Mumbuwa has condemned political parties that have opted to politicise the death of second Republican president Dr. Frederick Chiluba.
Mr. Mumbuwa says he is also saddened that some opposition political leaders have decided to demonise Dr. Chiluba even when he is dead.
He told ZNBC News in Mongu that Zambia should reject leaders that fail to respect the dead in society.
Mr Sata has not been to Dr Chiluba’s funeral fueling growing concern that he is not in good health.

Leaks in have just revealed that PF leader Michael Sata this morning went to Mulungushi conference centre to pay last respect to the late former President FTJ Chiluba. Mr Sata arrived at the funeral centre at about 09; 07 accompanied by his long time confidant Emmanuel Chenda and some body guards

Others shade crocodiles tears, others mourn deep down in their hearts.Late FTJ’s newly found friend RB only appeared at the funeral house on Monday,2days after his demise. We know those threats from MMD cadres against the PF leader immediately after the late passed on were only used as a smokescreen to draw away peoples’ from making inquiries on various issues surrounding the late ex President’s death i.e.issues discussed with rebels and any others including RB on the material date regarding political or other matters with him; were the discussions acrimonious or not? Zambia is losing a lot of the available precious time for development. There is a lot of unnecessary politicking at the expense of the much needed development through science and technology. In this part of the world, they only have the agenda for bettering the livelihoods of the people. You cannot notice the difference between the rich and the poor. Even us the foreigners have access to the same social services as the citizens. Politics should not take prominence.
