Patrick Mwanawasa maintains he was an MMD member

Share

Late former republican president Levy Mwanawasa’s son Patrick has charged that it is unreasonable for MMD National Secretary Major Richard Kachingwe to state that he was not a bonafide member of the ruling party.

Patrick last week announced his defection from the MMD to the opposition Patriotic Front and is eyeing the Kafulafuta parliamentary seat.

Following his defection to the PF, MMD national secretary Richard Kachingwe stated that Patrick had never been a member of the party and is not in any of the party’s records.

In a telephone interview with QFM, Patrick says he did not only renew his membership card during the card renewal exercise but has been a bonafide member of the MMD.

  1. Patrick never mind them especially Kachingwe, he is RB vuvuzela. he can even tell Silvia Masebo that she was not a member of MMD.
well come young man. the boat is still open for all. we are expecting more once the election date is set. chiluba’s children will be coming soon now that MMD has killed their father to avoid political interference with rebel MPs.

  2. Help me understand,is this boy saying he remewed his card or he is saying he didn’t renew his card but he was a member

  3. The boy is just riding on his father’s popularity. No wonder he has even chosen to go and contest among his tribalmates in the lambaland where his uncles and aunties will help him campaign. If he felt he was popular enough, he could have attempted Lusaka Central. That’s the litmus test for real politicians.

  4. Nothing can change the past. But atleast we can shape the present and plan to change the future. What Patrick was is not important. What he is today is what matters and how he plans for the future will determine how posterity will judge him. We can only wish him the best.

  5. if you cant support his move then to hell with you and remain with your old folks, stop complaining too.Unless you wanted patrick to be your son for you to support him.If his move wont work out,its his baby to carry.better trying than just seating and writing your comments and yet you dont even have a voters card.

    • Big point!!! if you cant chalenge these useless OLD folks!!! you better let others(Patrick) who have courage to do it for you!!!

  6. well come aboard young man i like your courage forget about the likes for siliya , mumbi kachingwe, lifekolo and others .

    • Ba guy! Patrick is better than Edward Mumbi and Richard Kachingwe.Lets just support the young man, after all you pipo who think that you are better than patrick dont want to chalenge andrew banda,Dora siliya!! bravo patrick my man!!!let the youny man do it for you!!!

  7. Patrick is NOT and WILL NOT be LPM. His father was so principled that when he stepped down as VP, he did not portray driftwood characteristics. He stayed put…. UNTIL

  8. be careful ba mmd sylvier and patrick are now ours so forget about kafulafuta and chongwe. we are waiting chiengi Iam sure even that one will be ours. time has come for change and that is final.

  9. “partrick had never been a member of the party and is not in any of the party’s records…”, “Masebo could have been expelled even if she did not resign..” (MR KACHINGWE, Im finding it difficult to understand u sir).

    #2,3:
muli bakopofye, im sure ur MMD cadre, thats y u cant undersstandind that plain broken zambian english ( or u are just pretending like Mr Kachingwe is doing).

    • Anti-Politics, are you stupid? How can you not understand the statements that he was not a member and was not on MMD records? Or that Masebo jumped before she was pushed?

  10. Patrick will loose the Parliamentary election for Kafulafuta parliamentary seat. Those who believed in what his father stood for cannot vote for him because he has switched to new ideals of 90 day development policies.

  11. Let Patrick stand he will lose. What you are today determines what you are tomorrow. Here is a lad whose father despite being a successful lawyer and president sent him to school but he didnt complete his degree. In essence he has a Grade12 certificate. Surely if he is voted in to parliament can he consider and vote for education for all as a basic right? Nope because his priorities are not for getting a sound mind but more to acquire more booze chase after women and boast about the ‘bally’ being the head of state..and then instead of using your inheritence to go back to school…booze it all away…This is not the role model we need as MP.

  12. FOR ONCE I AGREE WITH DORA SILIYA. UPSTARTS LIKE PATRICK SHOULD CARVE THEIR POLITICAL CAREERS BY CONTESTING EITHER AS COUNCELLORS OR MPS BEFORE THINKING OF PLOT 1. SO HH SHOULD FOLLOW IN PATRICK’S EXAMPLE BY CONTESTING THE NAMWALA SEAT INSTEAD OF FOOLING HIMSELF THAT HE IS THE OBAMA OF ZAMBIAN POLITICS… YEP!

  13. NONSENSE, Iwee Fatty Young Patrick what do u want?? MMD or PF, Go back to school than waste our time.

LT get serious, these former Plot 1 kids including Chiluba’s should know the power of education.. Ma Nonsense Chabe apaaaa.

  14. PF leader Michael Sata yesterday visited Paramount Chief Mpezeni of the Ngoni people of Eastern Province who has been admitted to Lusaka’s University Teaching Hospital (UTH).

Paramount chief Mpezeni was admitted to the UTH on Monday for abdominal complications and was due for discharge yesterday.

Sata, who arrived at the UTH at exactly 09:46 hours, entered through the casualty ward where several workers and ordinary members of the public welcomed him and shook hands with him.

And as he ascended the stairs to the VIP ward where Paramount Chief Mpezeni was admitted, several health workers excitedly thronged him. SURE MWE BENA ZAMBIA IMWE, CAN A SICK PERSON ASCEND THE STAIRS TO VIP WARD AT UTH. SHAME ON YOU!! ALA UNO MWAKA NI DONCI KUBEEBA…!!!

  15. Ala niziiii…………….!!! Ni donci kubeeba ba MMD na ba under5…………..!!! Pa bwaatooo…………….!!!

  16. Who is Patrick? This is a boy who despite his father having alot of money, authority and being sent to expensive universities still has no degree not even a certificate. He is just a grade 12. Why waste time on such a boy!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. # 26, do you have a problem with Patrick? so much hatred and jealousy in your statement! do you expect him to be sorry for not being what you would have been if you had been given the same opportunities he had!

  18. Why talk about it ba Ka chingwe if he was not your member, coz if his never left a gap in your party there was no need to bother ba kachingwe…..

  19. NO 26 you have a big problem. am sure you wish to be in Patrick’s shoes but sorry we all cant be Mwanawasa’s God gives differently PM is not your match get a life

  20. Young Patrick should understand that his Father quit Government because of Sata.Levy never had a peaceful stint of his Presidency because of Sata.Remember that even Maureen Mwanawasa gave matching orders to Sata during the funeral of Levy.Patrick should realize that a Tiger never nurses the offspring of a Kudu.

  21. We know that it was the serpent that misled Eve, who is ka Patrick not to fall for the serpent’s tricks. Forget about this dull boy, he has nothing, but a name in his father, he is not a factor in Zambian politics…if Mulongoti, Sondashi, Shakafuswa and Mr Bragadaccio are nonentities in the political game, who is the ka little boy? He does not know that probably his father died because of the anguish he was put through by the serpent….he is a real sell-out to his father’s legacy. I am sure the SC is turning in his grave.

  22. Ba Maj Kachingwe mulekeni umwaiche. You lose in Kasama so badly. You relative GBM gave you K30,000,000 to use doring the elections.Your other relative Bwalya Chiti also gave you some millions.Careful ba RB this Maj Kachingwe nikwindi mulya no kuputilisha. One leg in the PF and the other leg in the MMD.He was the first one to start camps to help Mrs Moreen Mwawansa to stand in the MMD.H was vngavn a lo of bicycls by ba Moreeen Mwanawasa.Ni chi SPY
