The patriotic front first ever general conference was opened with the party president Michael Sata calling for unity among the party members.
Mr. Sata says that the holding of the convention in Kabwe’s rock of authority is a symbol of unity among the party members.
Mr. Sata says that it is also a symbol of shared vision, which has seen the number of members of the political party increasing, now standing with over 700 registered members.
The patriotic front leader added that the PF will remain committed in practicing intra party democracy as one of the main priorities of the party.
Mr. Sata has called on the members of the patriotic front members to vote for leaders who are compassionate.
He warns against people who are plunders and undemocratic people.
And Mr. Sata has paid tribute to first republican president Kenneth Kaunda for the contribution he has made in the country.
Mr. Sata says that Dr. Kaunda has made Zambia were it is today, despite some of his infrastructure being abandoned by the MMD government.

The daily attacks of the Post’on MMD and Rupiah Banda are both wrong and irrelevant to the debate on politics in Zambia. Majority of Zambians are totally disagreed with the sweeping characterization of Rupiah Banda’s government as “traitors of Levy’s legacy”. Mmembe’s attempts to discredit individuals and groups who do not adhere to his ideology are unethical. Mmembe should for once commit to neutrality and objectivity.
When Kaunda took over from the British government, Lusaka city had about four roads, namely; Cairo road, Chachacha, Rubama and the Independence avenue which was a single lane by then. This was complimented by a few building blocks for housing infrastructure but ten years later there was so much to show for it. i.e.The Universty teaching hospital, University of Zambia greateast campus, the International airport to mention but a few. much of what is considered as current towns were developed then. In the twenty seven years that UNIP ruled we managed to get what we call the Zambia of today. In the Twenty years of MMD rule we have seen potholed roads which were once covered in tar, delapideted infrastructure save for two shopping malls, unprecedented hunger levels as well as high inflation rat

You will see the scale of development that took place soon after independance and you will see that if not for Zamtroop, we would have been able to rebuild the nation as we once did. #43 Ba Chief, forgot to add that when Unip took over at indepondo, they had inherited some working infrastructure of some sort – not much though. They then added on that and then proceeded to destroy it such that by the time MMD was taking over, there was nothing left except limping parastatals which were milking our coffers. Then MMD (with Sata in tow) razed even the stumps that were still standing, as situation from which we have yet to recover. I wonder if getting MMD II (read PF) will now exterminate even the sprouts that are starting to show, especially after Mwanawasa’s coming in reversed the decline. We wait to see what is next….

PF as a party is standing at an increased number of registered voters of 700!!!!!!!!!! This reduces our shortfall in the last elections to 2, 800. Now surely if SATA is not delusional, how 700 covert into winning for PA FWAKA(PF). So its true that 99.99% of the PF supporters are not registered voters. If only PF can accept the truth, they would allow their CHILUFYANYA FYONSE to just rest.

You have to admire govt RB style. The only president who has held press conferences away from state house. In Kitwe, Ndola, Chipata, Solwezi, Livingstone.
