United party for national development youths says they are not shaken by party national youth chairman Joe Kalusa’s defection to the ruling MMD.
UPND National Youth Coordinator Brian Hapunda says the party respects Kalusa’s decision as he is merely exercising his constitutional right to belong to any political party of his choice.
Hapunda says the youths in the party are not worried as the party is an institution that stands on firm structures of operation and not individual centered.
He pointed out that whilst other party members are leaving the party for greener pasture, a multitude of other well meaning citizens who share the dream of a better Zambia have continued to join the UPND.
He says it is unfortunate that despite being independent for 47 years, citizens in the country have continued to wallow in extreme poverty owing to failed economic policies by the MMD government.
Hapunda has since urged youths in the party to continue selling the candidature of party president Hakainde Hichilema as there is no doubt he is the best leader for the country.

I know Kalusa from the CBU days. He is a power hungry boy and political prostitute and his move to MMD just confirms his self centredness. Who knew he would leave UPND but thats typical of him. You cant trust most politicians. They are unstable like water which will take the shape of the container.

brian hapunda’s comments can only come from a mature and well groomed person. hapunda is upnd the affected party but see his democratic comments, and contrast that with the autocratic comments by pf cadres who believe that defections can only be from everybody else to pf, eishh.

Hapunda get on board Pabwato, remember the old folks of UPND destroyed it all, tribal sentiments at the HH ascendancy to party presidency. Time is now it might be too late. Also remember HH has done very little to denounce those sentiments and people have associated him with that, the situation keeps going tough for you UPND.
