MMD spokesperson Dora Siliya has welcomed the resignation of deputy minister of Works and Supply Lameck Mangani, describing him as an undesirable member of the ruling party.

Ms Siliya told journalists during a press briefing in Mufulira yesterday that the MMD is not surprised by Mr Mangani’s resignation because of his association with some top Patriotic Front (PF) officials.

“We are not surprised that Mr Mangani has resigned from both the MMD and his ministerial position because he was exposed having dark corner meetings with Judith Kapijimpanga and a PF official, and his wife was also reported to be campaigning for the PF in Chipata,” Ms Siliya said.

She said the MMD remains united and will not be derailed from implementing development programmes.

MMD national chairman Michael Mabenga also said the resignation of Mr Mangani from the ruling party was expected. Mr Mabenga said Mr Mangani’s decision is therefore not surprising, going by the dealings he has been having with the opposition.

In his resignation, Mr Mangani said he would soon announce his next move after meeting his constituents in Chipata.

Mr Mabenga said in an interview in Lusaka yesterday that Mr Mangani’s resignation has not moved the MMD in any way.

“We saw this coming and we are not surprised that he has resigned. We saw the dealings he had with Mrs Kapijimpanga and other members of the opposition,” Mr Mabenga said.

Mr Mabenga said despite Mr Mangani’s resignation, the MMD is still strong and popular in Chipata Central.

“The MMD is popular in Chipata Central not because of him (Mr Mangani) but because of what the party has done there,” he said.

In his resignation letter, Mr Mangani thanked both President Banda and President Mwanawasa for giving him a chance to serve in different Government positions.

He served in five different ministries since 2006 and said he had been through “ups and downs.”

Early this year, Mr Mangani was pictured at a Lusaka-based lodge holding a private meeting with Mrs Kapijimpanga shortly after the latter joined the PF. But Mr Mangani claimed the meeting was a ‘family affair.’

And MMD deputy national secretary Chembe Nyangu confirmed that the party secretariat has received Mr Mangani’s resignation letter dated July 8, 2011.

Mr Nyangu said Mr Mangani’s resignation is his personal decision and could not comment further because by press time, he did not have full details about Mr Mangani’s reasons for resigning.

Meanwhile, Chipata Central MMD youth activist Mathews Phiri says the party in the constituency will fight hard to retain the Chipata Central seat.

Mr Phiri said Mr Mangani has not only betrayed President Banda and the MMD, but the entire Eastern Province and Zambia as a whole. He said Mr Mangani should not take people for granted.

“We will fight for that seat to the bitter end if he decides to recontest it. Let him contest if he can withstand the pressure,” he said.

He said the MMD in the province believed that Mr Mangani would be among the people in the forefront to help President Banda win this year’s elections but the party is disappointed with his (Mr Mangani’s) lack of appreciation for what Mr Banda has done in Chipata Central.

“It is disappointing that he can turn around at this hour. These are the moles in the MMD. But the party is not short of leadership material and I can assure Mr Mangani that we will find a better replacement and it will not be an easy fight for him,” Mr Phiri said.

And JERRY MUNTHALI reports that MMD Copperbelt provincial chairman Joseph Chilambwe says Mr Mangani’s decision to resign his position has proved that he was a mole.

Mr Chilambwe said in an interview in Kitwe yesterday that the MMD will not miss Mr Mangani.

“The picture published in the Sunday Mail showing Mr Mangani with Mrs Kapijimpanga (former MMD chairperson for Lands) told everything. We knew that Mr Mangani belongs to the same political party as Mrs Kapijimpanga.

“When we started talking about Mr Mangani, we realised that he is not genuine. He is a mole,” Mr Chilambwe said.

MMD Luapula provincial chairman Emmanuel Chungu described Mr Mangani’s resignation as sad.

“It is sad in the sense that people are using emotions to make decisions. They should not be emotional when making decisions. Mr Mangani should have looked at the bigger picture, which is the MMD, because it is the only political party capable of delivering development to the people,” Mr Chungu said.

Evangelical Youth Alliance International (EYAI) president Reverend Moses Lungu said his organisation is not surprised by Mr Mangani’s decision to resign his position.

“His decision to quit is not new. He always wanted attention from President Banda but the Head of State is not there to make idols,” Rev Lungu said.

WHERE DO THESE FAKE RELIGIOUS POLITICAL PARTY MEMBERS COME FROM DAILY

    • Abo ma vuvuzela! nangu i team lile loosa kula puta fye ichimwela called VUVUZELA. Maybe a religious affairs desk will be opening at a GRZ office. Moses et. al. are laying ground for such a job.

  2. George Kunda is also a mole he has been having dark corner meetings with Kabimba. He knows that if nyama soya wins George might not be VP again since nyama soya has promised a lot of pipo for VP.

  3. I wonder how many moles still remain in MMD then. Just suffices to say half MMD MPs are moles because they are on their marks getting ready to go. Dora who are you then. lol you will remain alone just wait.

  4. Wat a sudden tragged. The ruling party has lost it all. Its clear now tht every person who resigns from the party will b considered as a mole. Ladies and Gentlemen from MMD plse lets just face the facts tht all this people tht are defecting frm yo party are not happy with what iz happening. It takes a wiseman to make such a decision. MMD is headed for a dead end. m yo party are not happy with what iz happening. It takes a wiseman to make such a decision. MMD is headed for a dead end.

  5. First bribed by Mahtani and demoted from Minister to Deputy. Lameck you were rotten to your very core.

PF is a splinter party of the MMD – everyone in there is MMD wearing a PF dress. Just shows the popularity of PF no new minds or fresh faces join. It’s only losers who are bitter or are power and gold diggers who join this sorry PF

  6. BIG UP TO MANGANI. U R THE MAN. MORE ARE YET TO CUM OUT. JUST DISSOLVE THE PARLIAMENT. I TELL U WILL B IN RUDE SHOCK.

  7. Evangelical Youth Alliance International (EYAI) president Reverend Moses Lungu!!!!
Who are you to comment on MMD issues?! You are the chaps bringing the title of Rev into ridicule and disrepute!

  8. Funny how whover resigns becaomes a know mole. Why wait for them to resign? Dollar Sillier, please explel all moles so that any future defections are not downplayed

  9. DORA is a disgrace to womanwood. if Mangani is a mole then who is DORA. No wonder Lifwekelo is now taking over her job. I suggest that she and lifwekelo tells us who is next to leave MMD for PF. Change is coming whether she or the fellow MMD vuvuzelas like it or not

  10. Lameck Mangani former senior teacher Chizongwe Technical Secondary School. He is the only one from Eastern Province contesting on an opposition ticket. He could have contested elsewhere may be in Lusaka on the PF ticket not in E.P. I know easterners. It took the MMD years to dislodge UNIP from the province. And Eastern is the only province still with some significant traces of UNIP up to now. All the best Hon. Managani!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • HE WAS NOT A SENIOR TEACHER AT CHIZONGWE, HE WAS AT CHASSA.HE WAS A GOOD AND UNDERSTANDING DEPUTY HEADTEACHER. I LIKED HIM AS MY DEPUTY TEACHER

  11. We saw this coming and we are not surprised that he has resigned. stupid! you have to do something to avert this mass defection.

  12. Quote: “MMD spokesperson Dora Siliya has welcomed the resignation of deputy minister of Works and Supply Lameck Mangani, describing him as an undesirable member of the ruling party.”

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, how about you Dora, aren’t you the most undesirable member of society (Zambia)? Or you just don’t know it!!!!

    • # 14, I totally disagree with you….Dora isnt the most undesirable…we desire her too much….at least she’s the best in bed….eastern power…:)

  13. Dora are you sure they are moles, or is it “tu MBEBA??” Are you just yearning to chew them???
Am sure RBish wants to roast them for dinner!!

  14. Dora is one of those misleading RB on issues affecting MMD and the Nation as a whole. RB is as innocent as an overgrown baby which will accept sweets even from starngers

  15. Mangani was caught pants down with someone’s wife, a PF  kaponya. What else do you expect from such currecters. Its good riddance. PF party of fools welcome this moron with open arms since we know that you don’t have credible leadership to even make a cabinet. How do you appoint rejects to contest positions in your party? It only means one thing, you don’t have intellectuals only kaponyas like nsanda , mark mushili and sebana wikute from lyansha who is only interested in dividends and not the running of his so called tuntembas of companies. yeyeyeyeyeye.

  16. MMD WILL LOSE PANTS DOWN TO PFFF……SILIA WAIT TIME IS TICKING CHANDA CHIMBWA YO DAYS ARE NUMBERED

  17. DORA, WHO ARE THEN?W H O RE? M OLE? RAT? BOOTLIKER?by the way did expect all ministers wives to be mmd.dull woman.

  18. MMD must realise that Zambians cannot be fooled any more. A sudden loss of a senior party and govt official like Mangani to the opposition would unsettle any serious political party.
It does not make it less painful to start demonising and vilifying your erstwhile colleague in order to give yourselves false comfort.
Lets face it, MMD needs to do better in their PR department. $ollar Siliya is causing MMD to lose more members due to her loose mouth. Scrambling for popular support in this way reflect only ambiguity, panic, uncertainty or even fo.olishness.
Though I am not MMD my humble advice is that it would benefit the party to use logic in advancing their arguments and persuading citizens than power. Currently that is lacking. The choice is yours MMD

  19. Just a storm in a tea cup!Mangani cant make pf win..if anything their lugage is a ton heavier to run an efficient race.By the how many containers of medicine disappeared when Sata was health minister?Dont pretend you dont know!Sata was part of the rot at health.IF God can choose a Zambian president between Sata and Banda, its obvious he would go for Banda!Be fair to him,the man has done a decent job as head of state. obvious he would go for Banda!Be fair to him,the man has done a decent job as head of state.

  20. Bane lets remember that every point counts, even a loss of one is a big gap. We need to do something to address these problems we have started facing from no where.

  21. PF!!! Here we come … we are getting to plot 1. Descipline is aour Priority number 1. We need to discipline such people like the Chimbaz and the Silllllllyers.

  22. MMD are starting to see shadows at night. As for you Dora you have been involed in too many scandels. Starting from the airport radar oder were you had Mr capitolo fired so you could have your prefered supplier, whilist i may say acting against a panel of experts, to Zamtel. We all know you do the bidding for the Banda boys. Just make sure your abode for refuge is in a safe destination becasue you will be one of the first with Bandas to tbrought before the courts charged with abuse of office.

  23. THE TRUTH SHOULD BE THE TRUTH, MR MANGANI WAS A FACTOR IN MMD.REMEMBER THAT WHEN 1 MEMBER DEFECTS, HE IS CARRYING THE FAMILY, SOME FRIENDS AND SUPPORTERS WITH HIM.SO EVERY MEMBER IN THE PARTY IS A FACTOR.

  24. it was seen coming that Mangani was leaving anytime.i know everyone waa ready that one time he will leave.Of course he has left his with family, friends and supporters but can he make it in the eastern province on the opposition party especially the Pantagonia Farts(P F)?time will tell.Marthan, fomer Finance Bank director is wondering where his millions are,(bribe) to let him free.watch this space

  25. Ba MMD lack of leadership at the top…how do you start calling people names when the leave, how are you going to retain those MMD constituents undecided if you call their MP names all the sudden.
Just childish…can’t wait to see the back of these MMD and buffoon RB.

  26. MMD THINK THAT THIS IS A BAD DREAM…….NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, IT’S REALITY….WAIT UNTIL CABINET IS DISSOLVED, MMD WILL ONLY REMAIN WITH DORA (FOR OBVIOUS REASONS), WILLY ‘DEPORTEE’ BLUNDER, AND MAYBE CHIEF VUVUZELA SHIKAPWASHA…..THE REST WILL DEFECT TO JOIN THE CHIBWATOOOOO!!!!!!! NAMU 1991 EFYO CHALI…….SO ITS HISTORY REPEATING ITSELF……….SO, ABENA BWEZI SHOULD FORGET ABOUT CHIPATA CENTRAL …….ABALEYA, ABALEYA, ABALEYA!!!!!!!!!!………WELCOME BWANA MANGANI IN THE CHIBWATO…….BYE, BYE POLIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  27. Ba Dora you must be worried, when friends are leaving you your party needs people of different shades, i know you are not sleeping, to me it seems as if all zambians need the mmd exit .. now what do you do check what has gone wrong ofcourse we all know corruption.

  28. African politics in general and Zambian politics in particular amaze me. Why call Mangani names for exercising his constitutional right? All what a sensible person could have said is to wish him well. I like the maturity of Chungu (MMD Luapula). That is the way to go. If Mangani was a mole as Dora wants us to believe, why wasn’t he fired from his job and party as they did with Mike? Was he protected, as mole, because he hails from eastern? Why didn’t they call Joe Kalusa who resigned from UPND to MMD a mole? I think that both Joe and Lameck have a right to belong to a political party of their choice, in this case MMD and PF respectively. I wish them well.

  29. i find it so disturbing to hear everytime this Member leaves this part or that party they are called all sorts of names. i dont think this is the right way of doing things. The way God created us differently it is also true that we reason differently. We shud learn to appreciate the views and opionions of other pipo.Differing with someone in opinion does not mean that u shud become enemies. There is need for us to learn to appreciate the contributions that our friend have done in the past rather than demonize them all the time.I think dora is so immature the best she shud do about those leaving her party is just to wish them well werever they are going who knows she may need the same pipo tomorow.let us behave responsibly especially to us who have been entrusted with leadership.

  30. Where are politicians of Gen Miyanda’s calibre who even after being dropped as republican vice president but still remained in the government? Let’s bear in mind that Gen Miyanda was demoted while he was still at parliament building deliberating as leader of the house. Where are the politicians of Lupando Mwape’s calibre who was fired by Mwanawasa but he went back to Northern Province and remained there until he was appointed as vice – president? Mr Mwape was recently recalled from China as ambassador and again he is back in Northern Province. Let’s learn from Gladys Nyirongo who deserted Heritage Party in pursuit of limelight but today she is in a prison cell.

  31. KABBBBBBAAAAAALLLLLLLLWWWWWWEEEEEEE!!!! BACHILI BALEISA! WHAT IS REALLY MAKING THESE GUYS COME AFTER ALL ITS MMD WHO SAYS SATA AND HIS GOONS ARE HOMOZ!!!!!!!! MMD PANSE!!

  32. Mangani was very gracious in his resignation. He did not bad mouth anyone. There was no need for Dora and her cadres to say the things they have about him. Mangani deservers some respect no matter how bitter his resignation from MMD may be to Dora and co.

  33. If that was true, the deputy minister would have been sacked

Siliya is looking desperate here, let it go mam, How about a statement thanking him for his contribution to the party and the country and wish him well, that is often what you do when you lose someone and you have a credible party.

    Pathetic Thanks

  34. Dora’s exhuband left her and he went to marry a man. If he can prefer a man’s ass to her whore, then she must have a pit latrine between those shapeless legs

  35. No wonder you are bitter with HOMOS because a man’s ASS is less smelly than than what is between your big Mafyete

  36. Immature thinking and behaviour being portrayed by MMD leadership, just because you belong to different political parties, does not mean you cannot be friends. More than 40 years after independence we are still acting as if we are still fighting the colonialists. People like Siliya don’t understand friendship because it not the business of whores to have friends, they only have clients

  37. Why is PF struggling with former ZNBC employees like Dora and Chanda Chimba? Whats happening at ZNBC? Dora please appreciate your friends when they decide to have different views. What type of a Hule a re you?

  38. mr mangani can be news too? surely if mangani decides to follow his sugar to pf, is that an issue that should affect the popularity of mmd in eastern province or chipata central for that matter?

  39. Dora respect Mangani he saved during your case,he was minister of home affiars by then.Respect the Mangani wife too.We ule wa.Yo don’t even know how to birth and dress.Go back to your village in MAPUTO were you come from. You are a CHIKUNDA OF MAPUTO

  40. Well said, Madam Dora. These guys don’t seem to see that RB will continue. I can almost see them shouting “MMD has stolen our vote!”

  41. The man Mangani met Kapijimpanga in broad day light in a restaurant full of people having their lunch, just how this could be described as “having dark corner meetings” vexes me deeply. One then wonders what type of journalists UNZA’s school of Mass Com. is cooking? This is also the girl who was clueless in court about the meaning of “NULLITY”, and these are Bwezani’s so called smart advisers! You be Dora obtained all her degrees using “groinery sansamcation” and not her head. She is practically functionary illiterate because the sheer deficiency of intellectual substance in her reasoning smacks of a fully blown “chizende cha chiwewe cha Kumawa”.

  42. Dora, billions of kwacha beyond anybody;s imaginationation spent in her constituency to the exclussion of the other 149 constituencies in the country. She is the Iron Lady in RB’s government. Lucky enough an audit of the entire corrupt acts will soon be led bare much to the chargrin of our people. Howelse, do you expenditure of a tenth of entire infrastructure budget in one in a ministry in one constituency to exclussion of all others! What goes up, always, comes DOWN. Awele amama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  43. What do you expect from dora who was dumped by folotia, she will be dumped soon by the MMD just wait and see.

  44. My analysis. MMD is a clean party. Cleaning its party notably PF is taking on those who faced disciplinary cases. Oh what a disgrace to have such a party leading the country. Can it happen anyway. Not possible. DORA just mind your language dont spoil the good stance of the party. Dont begin to behave like your cousin SATAN. Be level headed just like your boss RB. MMD will easily carry the day.

  45. Mr Mangani you are smart. You have made not insulted anybody. I wonder why nasty language is coming from MMD leadership. Let your decision be respected. You have done this with integrate. Leave him alone. RB i love you let these guys surrounding you not to destroy you. many more will resign after failing to be adopted to competitive MMD  camp. Most will not manage the stiff and tight race. It is only in MMD where this is happening. RB you have created a big name for your party and an achiever. I instruct those with sour tongue to stop immediately

  46. #21 Cafu, I would like to strongly disagree with you on containers of medication going missing when Sata was minister of Health. 1: Medical stores in 80s was the biggest pharmaceutical plant in the southern region. 2: when Dr Patrick Chikusu was MD medical stores of functioning at its best. 3: Dr Kawimbe was the Minister of Health and he had alot of Damage done to Medical stores and its where things where worse. In one incident people went to sign a deal in Japan instead of Italy where Zambia was given Paracetamol about to expire in 6months. Dr Kawimbe was inlvoved in taking meds to his private clinic in Ibex hills. Chiluba sacked Kawimbe. Sata actually brought back the integrity and work ethics. My understanding is that sata was not involved in your accusations but corrected ills.

  47. #59… Pafwenamwine…you have your facts correct about Medical Stores, Its management, mismanagement and restoration of order and pharmaceutical sanity. This is how we should be blogging, by sharing, educating and with entertainment on the side lines from the likes of Mushota…

  48. Very much interested in the dissipation of the mmd. Its a clear fact that mmd will continue dwindling no matter how they will try to show their progress to the electorates. People are just tired and that is it. Banda wapya munzi

  49. a wise man once said,”take every advice given, but judge it according to your wish”.am beginning to understand this statement considerin the suffering mmd is going through.they are by all means necessary trying to comfort them saves by saying lameck was not a facter.diva siliya go on decompaign yo boyfriend by telling him that all is well when he is in between sinkin a bolehole amidst thick bushes to his pleasure at the xpense of mmd and zed in paticular.goodbye mmd..

  50. DORA SILLIER, you just dont know how many moles you have lurking in MMD now, do you? It must be killing you… I would hate to live you life!
