Supreme Court decision has not vindicated Dora ,Citizens Forum

The Citizens Forum has charged that the move by the Supreme Court to throw out the appeal by former Communications Minister William Harrington against the Lusaka High Court judgment which cleared Education minister Dora Siliya of alleged breach of the Constitution over sale of Zamtel will not vindicate her.

Forum Executive Secretary Simon Kabanda has told Qfm in an exclusive interview that though the Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal on legal technicalities, Ms Siliya breached the laid down procedures in awarding a US$2million contract to R. P Capitals of Cayman Islands to value the assets of Zamtel.

Mr. Kabanda says it is unfortunate that the appeal has been dismissed when Ms Siliya clearly breached Article 53 (3) of the Constitution.

He has since called on leaders of government departments not to engage in illicit activities when dealing with matters of national interest.

On Friday, Supreme Court judge Marvin Mwanamwambwa dismissed Mr. Harrington’s five out of seven grounds of appeal.

  1. Kabanda don’t cheat yourself. You are not a legal expert and the Supreme Court Judges are not in your class. Respect the Court’s decision and move on. If Dora joins PF today you will not be yapping like this. Stop politicking! True legal technicalities matter, not cadre reasoning.

  2. Simon Kabanda…….. relax. Dora is a free woman whether you or Harrington like it or not.

  3. Is mmd a sinking boat who will remain in it Ba DORA are you still unshaken

  4. It is only in Zambia where the person who has been set free is the one who is castigated!

  5. There is no question on kabandas accertions. he is 100% right. why wasnt she cleared at first? justice in zambia.??????//////

  6. Kabanda (small ghost) it is a pity you have to always find something to bark about in order to remain relevant other wise your donors will withdraw your lifeline. Tough life eh? Anyway, keep yapping, you entertain us with your foolery.

  7. kabanda. find something worth while to do. barking day in day out will not do. You can come and de-campaign us like last time and give us a chance to break your ass

  8. Kabanda you are a PF kaponya and hence nothing sensible can come out of your marjuana smelling mouth.

  9. This man was a priest. The devil in his pants forced him to breach the oath of celibacy and could therefore not remain in the church. Now the training he did only opened him to Theology and Religious Philosophy so he has no skill unlike the priests who are beingordained now;these have skills. So the only thing he can do is to yarp and coil the davil in his pants.

  10. Kabanda has been also promised sata’s nieces in whom he inteds to sire more of his kind.

  11. she will go in soon, less than 6months remaining will restore the constitution!

  12. A tribunal consisted of highly qualified Lawyers as well,so Simon Kabanda is right Dora was “freed on a tecnicality” she did err in awarding that fake firm the job.

  13. Talk abt selin zamtel 4 a song,a thriflin $257m,de al transaction has bin a scam n de average zambian tax payer has nt benifited in any way.ANWAY ULTIMATELY DE ALMIGIHTY WIL JUDGE DEM.

  14. KABANDA..?
What is the rule-of-law for, is your likes will continue being demonic even after the highest court in the land has ruled? Which jungle are you from?

  15. After Elections, we will revisit the sale, if Zambian’s as majority shareholders lost out, the whole process will have to be revised & crooks brought to book!!!

  16. Is ZAMTEL doing better than it was? Was ZAMTEL on the death bed, such that it was a matter of time, it would have been another UBZ?……..
