The MMD has advised its members to remain calm and not listen to unofficial election results being released.

MMD National Secretary, Major Richard Kachingwe has also noted that the voting pattern in this year’s elections is similar to that of 2006 and 2008.

Major Kachingwe says acts of desperations have continued with some people releasing false election results.

Major Kachingwe was speaking in an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka on Thursday.

He says all Zambians especially the MMD members countrywide must wait for the official results being released by the Electoral Commission of Zambia.

And The MMD has denounced an article in Wednesday’s Post Newspaper suggesting that Patriotic Front-PF Leader Michael Sata is headed for victory.

MMD Chairman for Elections Gabriel Namulambe says the lead story in Post Newspaper is fake and highly misleading.

Mr. Namulambe says the Electoral Commission of ZAMBIA-ECZ is still receiving results at its results center and verifying them before the official announcement.

Mr. Namulambe who has retained his seat as Mpongwe parliamentarian, has advised Zambian’s not to be misled by anyone but to rely on official results been announced by the ECZ.

And the Electoral Commission of Zambia on Wednesday shut down the results’ component on its website, following queries that presidential results in 133 constituencies have been announced and declared.

ECZ Chairperson Justice Irene Mambilima dispelled the information as incorrect, adding that the commission will get to the root cause of the matter.

  1. It unfair, why isnt ecz announcing the results? see now whats happening! they ve brought anarchy in the country! win or lose announce now! innocent lives will be lost!

  2. 50% after 2 days sure!! I like Ellias Chipimo, he has beaten well tested politicians. Well done you are the future presido of Zambia.

  3. Do you want us to act like IVORY COAST? if not then Libya or EGYPT! Zambians stand up and be heard, take action do not let MMD munipulate results in their favour. Act Now and show them that enough is enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Here we go again. The same old pattern. These people are still trying to work out the numbers because the MMD cant win by 6 million votes because there is 5 million registered.

  5. ECZ please be realistic people are eager to know speed up the process. in 1991 results were known by mid nyt why is it so difficult now when we are electronic .

  6. This country is really gone to the D0gs. 3rd day and still a country with 5 million voters (with only 60% turn out at best) still can’t annouce the results.
He’s contradicting himself. How does he know then that the voting pattern is not dissimilar to 2006/08 if the official results have not been published? In one breath he tells people not to listen to others announcing results, in another he already knows the national voting pattern which is identical to the last 2 elections. Have Zambians been taken for a ride like this? This assumed peacefulness of Zambians will one day come to an end. Zambians should stop looking to ‘God’ every time a ‘thief’ steals what belongs to them. At some stage you will have to stand up to them and say enough is enough. Please all Protest Libyan style!

  7. To protest like Libya for this rotten teeth old man called SATA. Even if the elections are rigged, it is ok, as long as they are making SATA not to win, he is a thug with rotten teeth, go to hell…!!!!

    • I agree with you; but he is the people’s choice. Ba Banda with clean teeth, married to his grand daughter producing great great grand children has been rejected. Democracy when it works, someone has to cry. We cried for over 20 years, today, our prayers are answered. We are very proud of our rotten teeth shikulu, kaponya’s choice. Be very scared bane; he will sweep clean the mess. And we the technically informed Kaponya’s will volunteer to audit things at forensic level. Basakala nyongo

  8. MMD just accept, you have lost this time around, Well-done Zambian people. Please we don’t want Violence or another Coti D Ivoire.

We don’t trust the ECZ they are MMD.

VIVA SATA our new president, this brings a new generation.

  9. Seriously, you chaps at ECZ need to stop taking rigging instructions from RB, he has lost the elections and the noble thing to do is to step down quietly, he and his sons had their fun and have destroyed may lives in their wake. Tel them I do hoped they had saved their money because they will need it to defend themselves in court to answer for the theft of public funds.

  10. JUST IN —————-85 /150 RESULTS IN AND SATA IS STILL IN THE LEAD AS PER ECZ ON RADIO QFM
    SATA @ 639,787 —–
    42% RB@ 542,362 ——36%

  11. We’re calm ba National Secretary. Can’t ba PF see that we’re also many in numbers? Whatever threats they make can be mirrored to them.

  12. @Rasta… cheers :-c
Kabudula… these results smell fishy: 85 out of 150 is more than half of the constituencies (~ 57%) but the vote count is still around ~ 600k for the highest. Now we were told we had 5million registered voters. Assunming 60% turn out (that should be around 3k votes). I mean where are the rest of the votes? I know the rest of the candidates are sharing around 1% spoils, may be with HH sitting at around 16%. And the votes counted so far are urban ones where there should be many more number of voters registered. Now don’t tell me the remaining 65 constituencies hold the rest of the votes and thus when they start trickling in Sata will be overtaken… note that I’m neither PF nor MMD, but an interested citizen sick of status-quo with the future of the country at stake

  13. in all fairness, sata is not worth killing each other for. He is just an over recycled politician who cant take the country any further than it is. he is simply man(i even doubt his moral standing seeing the way he responded to mumbi).
RB may not be the best but as long as we are not united as the opposition, such things shall continue happening were we are always on the opposing until Jesus our Lord comes. In unity thing happen….VIVA UNITED 2016 VIVA

  14. why cant you wait and let them finish counting.you want to announce when they havent finished and you are the same people who wil complain.

  15. THIS IS INJUSTICE AT ITS BEST, TOP ECZ AND JUSTICE OFFICIALS  ARE EMPLOYED BY BWEZANI,

THEY ARE DELAYING THE VOTES AT THE EXPENSE OF POOR ZAMBIANS SO THEY KEEP THERE JOBS….

THE *****S ARE WASTING TIME COZ THEY WANT TO RIG,

  16. #Jigga: but not every person who registered voted. If there was no PVT, MMD would have anounced by now; however there was pvt, and monitors for each and every station. So the number of voters to cast their votes cannot, all of a sudden increase. The data issue makes the calculations extremely difficult for MMD rigging team. You cannot easily increase the “total” when the total is already known. Such behavioural tendencies is what has made africa go in reverse gear, except SA, and Botswana where presidents respect institutions. Imagine if Mbeki was to refuse to step aside, what would have happened? Banda is worsening the situation for himself each minute he listens to chaps like Kachingwe. Data speaks for itself, Sata is the Kaponya’s choice!! Simples!!

  17. You the educated, have had 20 years of rulling. Evidence says you did not apply any educational principles meaningfuly, except, at steeling everything that was not yours, including chickens, goats, wives, contracts and companies. Now time for Kaponya’s has come; and they have nothing to loose. Its you with mansions who have everything to loose. Common sense, just hand over power, and contratulate the winner. Sata will spare the former president a few embarrasing moments; he has a pension till he dies, he has a young wife to continue satisfying; so why not go back to the farm and eat alot of nshaba akabale ba mpundu nafuti nafuti? Its change goal bane, says God. If you refuse to go we will bring water for you at the hague!!

  18. How can the pattern be the same as 2006 and 2008 when it is clear that in both these past elections, MMD controlled some parts of Luapula and Northern which it no longer does. MMD also commanded Western and Northwestern plus Central which it no longer does. Sata on the other hand was never in Mpulungu, Mbala, Nakonde, Isoka, Mongu, Nalolo, Livingstone, Lunte, Kafue, Chipata, Feira, Vubwi etc. Where are you getting the figures from and why are you annoying people. You will take responsibility for letting this country go on fire

  19. @OrgasmTembo, Yes I’m aware that not everyone who registered voted. That’s why I put the voter turn out at ~ 60% (check my comment again). My concern is not really about whether they will manipulate total. I’m just curious that even after 85 of the 150 Constituencies counted (mainly in urban areas), the leading candidate still can’t reach a 1 million mark… assuming aagain a voter turn out of 60%, are we saying the rest of the numbers are still with the remaining uncounted 65 Constituencies?

  20. The Major is not telling us the truth. God forbid, if by any chance we will see MMD in the lead all the MMD Vuvuzelas will come out to talk about nafuti nafuti. Moses Lungu, Moses Kalonde, Gregory Cifire, Lifwekelo they are are all silent and they have nothing to say and their spin can not work at this late hour. What the POST  is doing now was also done in 2006. When most people thought Sata was heading to plot one, the next day we had a screaming headline announcing that Levy had won the elections. This upset PF members who read out the riot act to the post and MMD members, including VJ,  who were shy to speak came out to defend the Post headline. Now Major, what is wrong with the POST stating their intensions clearly after carrying out their own PVT. Hypoctrites just keep quite

  21. persona, #19:
I submit that it is not so much about Sata the elected candidate as about the requirement for the establishment to respect the will of the people. If people have chosen Sata, so be it! Let that choice be respected!
If there is going to be any fighting or dying, it will be about the principle of respect for the will of the people.

  22. #29: Jigga: I totally agree with you. In the remaining 65seats we still have part of Luapula, Northern, Lusaka and CB seats. Meaning the results are “highly likely” to reflect that which is being disputed by the ECZ. Mambilima has just addressed people and she looked scared am told. UNZA has given an ultimatum for 17hours to annouce the results; and in Ndola its rumoured the total number for Sata from one of the constituencies was reduced by 3000; things are tough for the president who is still in state house, surrounded by soldiers from Gonda barracks; his trusted soldiers. Meantime, just opposite state house soldiers have rejected him. The best he can do is just come out, with a smile and hand over, show support to the new president; BUT a thief never thinks rationally!!

  23. All Political parties know their Presidential results by now apart from those in Lukulu Western Province. What makes me say this is because if you had listened to Mrs Mambilima’s Last update after 12:00hrs today she said the following:
As agreed all Political parties are signing for the results at the const. before they are transmitted to ECZ at Mulungushi.
What do others say on my observation?

  24. OrgasmTembo No. 32. you have a very valid observation. The remaining seats are part of PF strong holds where PF is wining with very big magins unlike in 2008. Lets wait MMD will invent some new rules of statistics. I am scared right Now!!!!

  25. UPND are also in the race as spoilers for MMD. MMD thought they will team up with UPND against PF. The 65 seats left so far, you will find that it will be shared by MMD, PF and UPND almost equally each one getting 1/3. This means the status will remain as it is right now.

What is right now going on in the hearts/heads of the following: Chanda Chimba III, William Banda, ZNBC Director General, Zesco managing Director etc.

  26. Major Kachingwe be careful. Do not be another Mbita Chitala. Just advise everybody to keep calm. But remember if you loose this erection not Election it is the end of MMD.

  27. #10 kizito,
Calm down, it’s we Zambians reacting to the crookedness of the MMD and Rupiah Banda. Why are you venting your anger on Sata calling him a thug with rotten teeth. How about Rupiah with his monstrous head and nose like a hippo. Whether you like it or not Sata is the new president of Zambia.

  28. Pepani at major, nthawi yakufa kolwe ikakwana mtengo umatelela, u hav tryd 2rig dis elections but u hav failed, coz its GOD whu is fighting dis battle 4us poor zambians our GOD is Alive!.Pepani at major, nthawi yakufa kolwe ikakwana mtengo umatelela, u hav tryd 2rig dis elections but u hav failed, coz its GOD whu is fighting dis battle 4us poor zambians our GOD is Alive!.

  29. IT IS ALWAYS DARKEST AT DAWN.

MMD cant see because it is at dawn. A new day is coming very soon. All MMDS will kiss DUST as RB said. Were are you now MMD Cadres. I want to see which Cadres has strong bores to stand up again. Bashikapuba is now the most silent. Dora the prostitute will now be free for all. Those bums you advertised will now be used.
RB’s wife is now going back to he Bedroom she talked about to receive injections from an angry man. Ohh Goodbye MMD fipuba

  30. You people stop fighting, pf is winning this election, why do i say so?simple, read the other artical about the election results on this same site as announced by ECZ.It says;Sata is commanding a comfortable lead in Luapula,CB and Northern while results from MOST parts of LSK and WSTN provinces have NOT been recieved and verified. These two are pf strongholds and can easily decide the fate of this election. The margins in LSK alone will be wide enough to knock the mmd out of the race,Western will just be icing on the cake.

  31. RB is caching up with SATA and RB has told his supporters to refrain from violence.. The gap is just 10 000 votes now. I told you PF, all your votes are in town and are the first one to be announced.

  32. # 45, I got news for you. The gap has widened to 185,494, and you call that narrow? Time for Dickson Jere to start typing the concession speech.

  33. pulamasako, kizito, chief boolicker, zambians will use the ballot if you become big headed and you stop listening to the people not old politics of bootlicking! no
