  1. I hope RB will be magnanimous enough to attend the handover. It will put a seal of approval on our enduring democracy!

  2. Expectations are really high from the streets!!!!I guess they dont even know how complex the world has become to achieve meaningful economic development. I guess in two weeks reality will set in on Sata. And in December this year,(90 days) reality will set in the minds and hearts of Sata supporters. Hard luck HH!

  3. Yes in 90 days i expect more money in my pocket as promised. I hear they are already saying that give us time! And of course top priority is to reverse the sale of Finance Bank escpecially since Sata’s nephew Miles Sampa won elections in Matero and was at Barclays saying that they will get Finance Bank Back.

  4. @ #2 Yambezhi

Are you telling me 90 days is just in time for Christmas. Wow, what pressure on our new president. He better fufill those promises in time for Christmas, we will keep a vigilant eye on it. I have already started counting down the days.

  5. Why is there no better structure of handover to enable the incoming adminstration select key people for crucial positions,to verify the soundness of records, finances and physical property to be handed over and set up a proper handover ceremony? To me there should be a transition period to take care of these important matters.

  6. HH needs to strik a deal with opposition MMD MPs, so that they have formidable pact to keep SATA in his checks and balance..!!! so PLZ could any one tell me how many MPs PF won, UPND won and MMD won..? PF must thank HH for terribly reducing the margin of MMD..!! Am sure SATA has recommended HH for that, because HH wanted only true winning person is announced. They tried to cook him up for RB but you know very well that HH and RB were rivals for him the son of a dog..!! How can you have all Ministers from one province, that is what made MMD hard to win…!!! It is good SATA see us to the election time because if there any other candidate the result would not have favoured the opposition. Just like many still believe that Mr. Mazoka would have won in 2006 elections had he not died..!!

  7. I seem to remember in 1991, we sang, we danced and we all believed life could be great. We ere so desparate to get rid of KK that we could have voted for a donkey. But what happened after that Chiluba, destryed all companies that where a great help to zambia, reduced the work to about 200000 and depleted the national coffers to zero. The amazing part of it all is that Sata the man everyone believes is a hard worker was part and particle of it all. He even was the driver of the third term attempt by chiluba. Mwanawasa never liked the man because he could not be trusted and now Zambians you have sold your future in to his hands. Wow, the road from here can only be a sloping downhill and it will be near impossible to get rid of this man.

  8. Congrats Mr President elect. Please do not forget the pact you have made with the Zambian people especially the youth, the poor, the unemployed, the church, the media (some) who supported you in the election (90 Days). As for RB, batila in bemba ati “Ichalo Lifupa, kukolokotakofye chashala” You played your part in governing this country and for this,we thank you and bon voyage.

  9. so, that’s it? Sata is going to state house? i can’t believe it. but i think Sata won by bigger margin than the one we are being shown. it went beyond rigging. hahahaha. bye bye MMD. please now cage william banda.

  10. Rb stole more money than Chiluba . Rb did it in 2 years Chiluba did it in 8 years….. Zamtel and finance Bank were the cash cows !

  11. We didnt vote for SATA because of the 90 days promise. We just wanted change. Customers dont always buy products for the advertised benefits.

  12. You can whine etc, the reality today is MCS is new Zambian President. He is the new BOMA has you guys put it some time back. We know most of you depended on our TAX money but its time for you to  work like others. Halala MCS Halala PF Halala Change.  We will now see who were the genuine MMD members.

    • Opinions are there to be shared, you have every right to have your own. Democracy is about allowing people to voice their opinions. By the way, my point is fact rather than opinion, its okay if you want to bury your head in the sand. I sure hope Sata will prove me wrong, but considering lemon trees do not produce oranges i rather doubt it.

  13. Democracy at work. Sata needs to make decision out of wisdom and not vengeance. Good luck to my country. For now am concentrating to improving my own GDP

  14. Congratulations Mr Michaeil Chilufya Sata, well done, we knew it was coming. Change was 100% needed in Zambia we have suffered under thieves for a long time. whatever people say about Sata and his character does not matter any more. He is great. Where does RB go now?

  15. Anyway ni each one for himself or herself but God for us all. Waiting to see what others saw which I have failed to see.

  16. I hope sata can surround himself with people that can give him good and true advise. The performance of the presidency is most affected by the people around it. Sky Banda was all over places because the people around him wanted to make allowances by getting RB in the air. Let him select ministers on merit not party lines otherwise we will have more william bandas’ now than under RB. Lets hope we will not have more characters stealing now than under RB. Bottom line is that we must hold these politicians accountable to us and not the other way round, we must manage these country through politicians and not the other way round. We are stuck with PF for the next five if not ten years for now, lets make the best of it. Congratulations PF and Sata!! respect the trust bestowed on you.

  17. The the 90 days start when HE M C Sata is Inaugurated.
Those doubting Sata’s ability to transform the nation to higher heights hardly know the man.
This is a new beginning for Zambia, a better style of management and above all hard work.
    Donchi ukubepa!!!!!

  18. CONGRATS MR.PRESIDENT AS WE AWAIT FOR MORE MONEY IN OUR POCKETS ,LOWER TAXES AS MINERS ON THE COPPERBELT.90 DAYS IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER.GOOD LUCK!!!!

  19. TO MR HIKAINDE HICHILEMA,

I HEARTILY THANK YOU YOUR EXCELLENCY FOR HELPING TO GET RID OF MMD.
THIS VICTORY IS THANKS TO PF AND UPND.

  20. 90 Days start today and if sata thinks zambia are dull, he might just save as presido for one yr and he will be impeached, the opposition the majority in da house kakakakakakakakakkekekekekekekchwechwe kekokekoke

  21. THE SLIMY SNAKE IS NEVER TO BE TRUSTED, I ASSURE YOU, RB STOLE BUT SATA WILL KILL, I WOULD RATHER HAVE THE FORMER. CHANGE HAS COME, LETS WAIT TO SEE WHAT TYPE OF CHANGE IT IS, WE HAVE NO IDEA …… LIKE FATHER BWALYA SAYS, CHANGE OR DIE, WE CHOOSE TO CHANGE, WILL IT BACKFIRE????????/ CHANCES ARE HIGH.

  22. Lusaka Times,

Thank you for playing your democratic role in the the just ended elections.

We relied on you, Zambian Watchdog, The Post, and recently, QFM Zambia.

    Thanks fellow compatriots!

  23. Congrats Mr President Sata and Zambia. Grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ be with us all. As it was in the begining is now and ever shall be, world withoud end AMEN.:((

  24. Mwe bantu forget about 90 days for once! Differentiate rhetoric from campaign messages please. Are you that dull. These politicians make so many promises but in your  thinking can someone really make change in 90 days? Is he God or what! His mandate is to lead the country for five years and so let us see results within five years not 3 months bachimbwi. Wake up from slumber!

  25. In case you wondering what Sata can do in 90 days, have a look at this; in 90 days we can review all (esp chinese) mining contracts, FNB (South African Bank) aquisition of Finance bank, Zamtel sale agreement, audit local shareholding in all foreign companies operating within our boarders, recall all ineffective diplomats…the list goes on.. i call these Quick Wins with hugh impact on country bottom-line…Yes in 90 days…

  26. 89 DAYS YOUR EXCELLENCY
WE WANT WINDFALL TAX! WE WANT MORE MONEY IN OUR POCKETS!
WE WANT ZAMTEL, FINANCE BANK AND ZANACO!
WE WANT MEDICINES IN HOSPITALS AND BETTER CONDITIONS

  27. I hope this does not mean loosing jobs u were given by the corrupt MMD because u will come back here and finish your shoes looking for a job because of the bad systems that the MMD has left

  28. Zambian journalist are so dull! A let down. No sense of the occasion. People hoking on the streets and instead of buidling us up tpo the inauguration Muvi and ZNBC are showimg old movies with no inofrmation whatsoever. Why cant you capture the mood outside parliament, analyse situation a bit and so on. Dullo, Dullo, Dullo!!! Why did you do journalism? Couldnt find anything better to do? this is history in the making and they are showing us old movies. ZNBC we are used but Costa, Master Chimbala, where are you to show us sensible things, u just want to cover actual ianuguarationand no more. Very dull of zambian journalists. watch ur friends in international media…..

  29. It so funny how things and time changes…. Some were saying Sata will never rule, others and most of the Zambians were sympathetic with the PF that did not have money to bribe people but genuinely gave Sata the support

  30. #33 and 34 please remember that the majority of Zambians voted Sata based on the promises based on the 90 days premise. Those listed in #34 were infact to be done immediately. So Sata has to juggle his act to balance the great expectations he has generated. Most of the votes must have come from youths who were marginalised by MMD. So burying your heads in sand will not do, I have seen some saying there are already 89 days remaining. So PF pull up your pants, and then we will dine with you again in the next elections, especially for us independents.

  31. Iwe GUNDIX #28 UPND is in opposition – and if they are not careful they will be in the dwindling opposition. They tried hard to tear MCS down – they were the opposition to the opposition, which was weird! Congratulations to PF and better luck next time for UPND.

  32. @32 as if you make that much money in the diaspora. Some of you even hide when people vist for fear they may see how you live in a one roomed apartment or u fail to buy tickect home in yes coz its hand to mouth. Yes donchi kubeba is edible and we are full of it right now. Donchi kubeba!!!!

  33. Sata is a real man, remember how he changed things in healthcare, it is coming!! Congrats Mr. President Michael Chilufya Sata. For Dora, Shikapwasha, Kunda and many many more, please let them explain how they acquired their wealth. We need a transparent Zambia for all. Days are numbered and what ever goes up must come down. Cage the thugs and scrutinize the so called investors, God bless Zambia :)>-

  34. HURT HIM HE IS STILL YOUR PRESIDENT. I PROMISED ON THIS BLOG THAT COME SEPT 20 SATA IS PRESIDENT. WE AR NOW LOOKING FOR CHANDA CHIMBWI.

  35. Congratulations to the Fifth Republican President, Michael Chilufya Sata. The people of Zambia have spoken and President RB has heard them. To PF and the next 5 years and the people of Zambia having more money in their pockets in 90 days.

  36. This is it. The start of a new dawn with Sata as President. The election is now history, the inaugural is tomorrow and work starts on Monday. I shall give Sata Sunday to celebrate his victory and on Monday 90 days starts ticking. Sata promised the heavens, i hope over the next 5 years he will be able to deliver even half of what he promised. Congratulations to you Mr Sata and may the Almighty God give you profund wisdom as you govern this blessed country. To my fellow Zambians just as Sata is deemed a hard worker, we too must work hard to develop the country.

  37. Jumbo & Tryzo-Its our choice!Surely did u expect the ku klux klan to celebrate Obama’s presidency? They did come up with all stories like u have just done!Yes u guys are smart but u failed to outsmart us kaponyaz! You never saw wrong in William Banda,Dora’s indecency,Kunda’s wastage & arrongance,Shikapwasha’s fungal IQ,Jimbo’s excesses,Chiluba’s escape, mobile hospitals,Indian labourers at KCM,the Chinese ill treatment of our pipo, abuse of public media, selective justice, zain shares, need i add more? Get down from yo Ivory tower where ever  u r in the diaspora, dont think the majority pa Zed  r living like u.Rather than endure the MMD’s bullshit,we  have chosen to live with hope.Viva pipo power

  38. #12 Zonda Mu Tonga,
You are a very bitter man just like your monster Rupiah, you never thought Sata would win. The people have spoken whether you like it or not. Some of you used to say ‘Sata will never rule Zambia’. Swallow your pride and lick you wounds. Sata is by nature a hard worker and has the love for Zambia at heart, just wait and see.

  39. Common people, lets drop kaponya thinking. Should we interpret 90 days to mean Zambia shall have no potholes? Be real.

  40. Ehe who said the POST NEWSPAPERS LTD is not powerfull? who said fred mmembe is not powerfull? he is the most influential person right now. PF have to give it to him he has done the ground work for them. Where is siulapwa, chimba chamba, edward mumbi etc

  41. this is the President who i have been waiting for, am even thinking of trying to save him. by the way am an aircraft engineer currently working in RSA

  42. Politics is a dirty game. SATA we are giving u 5years in which to do something progressive for our mother land failure to which u will be embarrassed like Rupiah

  43. The Jackal # 33 The 90 day iniciative is about policy change. Its a new and better way of doing things. ie reversing the bad laws that MMD introduced, putting together a think tank to review the constitution making process.etc, this is what its all about bwana. NONCHI UKUBEPA!!!!

  44. New revelation: Zambian watchdog is a ‘dying’ MMD Vuvuzela. Instead of being objective as a media body, their editor has snapped and is showing his true colours with the story “President Sata and the nonsense he is bringing” PLEASE BOYCOTT WATCHDOG WHICH IS WISHING ZAMBIA DOOM WITH ITS DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED GOVT.

  45. HH could have been vice president but he could not listen. He has now been taken by suprise. We need to recount Chipata Central, Chongwe, Kafulafuta. PF won the seats but MMD rigged the elections. Congrats MC Sata.

  46. Chiluba and mwanawasa can turn in their graves now, this is how life works, those who believe in themselves and fight for what is right always win in the end, by taking the hard road. This is EXACTLY the leader we need for zambia. A lot of things will change for the better, even generations after he leaves power. Youll remember my words.

  47. Congratulations to Zambian people for such a smooth and fair elections, your voices have been heard through the ballot, let this be a lesson to all African countries, its high time we want change through the ballot not through shedding blood. BRAVO,BRAVO,BRAVO Zambia and SATA.

  48. wow i have been waiting for this lovely moment, our president MCS a hard worker and man of action, we need more money, lower taxes, wow i cant wait to see this five years is a lot of time to make change go go go Sata go go go DONCHI KUBEBA

  49. Those who attended and benefited from the fraudelent ACC ( constitution conference ) should be parraded so that they return the money to the govt coffers so that it can be used to buy medicenes in the hospitals. If they cant, its better they return only half or face jail sentences for plunder of public funds so that Zambians can be responsible towards tax payers money.Viva president elect. I pray that God can grant you abundant wisdom as He did Solomon. 2 chronicals 7 : 14

  50. The stone that the builder threw away turned out to be the supporting stone of the pillar! Never say never and never put down anyone or anything. For everything has its place, and every one has his hour. Let’s work with what and who we have! Congratulations Bwana Michael Chilufya Sata. We will continue to support you as you mature the governance of our democratic country. Lets remove the rule of good men and implement of the rule of good laws. Africa (even in institutions) is too full of wielding men and women who bend and reshape good laws to suit them. This must be put to an end!

  51. Come on, we are waiting for the inaugration ceremony. There are 6 of us Zambians right now in central London glued on to Q-FM radio online. Interestingly there are some foreign admirers who have joined us. Well done president Sata and PF.

  52. One of the things I sincerely hope Mr Sata will deliver on is the constitution, a clear succession and inauguaration procedure to avert misunderstandings and anxiety and baseless fears of rigging and manipulation. I recall feeling the deep hollow feeling in the pit of my stomach that I felt this morning when Late President Mwanawasa was inaugurated. I pray that Mr Sata Like the Late Mr Mwanawasa will pleasantly surprise me. I remain cautiously optimistic if not for the fact that we one of the only countries in africa to carry out credible multiparty elections. God Bless Zambia and all her people.

  53. Litunga…#…I don’t support HH to be vice president to SATA because there would have been trouble in Government. HH made it clear, he is not after position but to save Zambia at presidential level. HH had no interest to have been reporting to sata, so it is good PF won on their own without confusions. I still said UPND did the right thing to pull out of the pact. To those who wanted positions, it is very bad because you will not have one. HH, time and again has said, on his own, he can not make it, at one point he told his management committee that UPND on its own can not win..which has proved right, so far, he is the only remaining opposition to PF as MMD has no power this time, PF will start buying some of them. The only way MMD can have impact was to use HH as their main man,!!

  54. I know some of you are mentioning of Chipimo because of your tribal mentality. SATA has won these election not because of his tribe but because they had trusted him what he was telling them. UPND will not win any election if the party does not have serious vision for Zambia. In this case am talking of having inclusive recruitment drive with fellow opposition MMD. HH must come out in the open and congratulate President SATA because this man sata has worked for this position. No matter what people are talking about SATA including me who was busy insulting him, in the end, you just have to put your hand up and say “thank you president SATA”. it should also be clear here sata is the only president to score above 43% since Fredrick Chiluba LAZO won in 1991 elections..!!

  55. Thanks be to GOD that his will has come to pass. Thank you Mr. President,MCS for your perseverance, hard work God given convincing victory.
Thanks be to the out gone President and may he rest in peace.

  56. Shosholoza!! under five wa ona manje, asembe una mvela, asembe wa sangwa ko, wa ona manje!!! UPND, NEED TO UNDERSTAND THESE FUNDAMENTAL FACTS, for as long as HH remains their leader, 1st he is perceived to have led to that short changing of Zeds coffers during the sell-offs to enrich himself, 2ndly, he has aligned himself with tribalists, WHO HAVE VOWED THAT ONLY A TONGA CAN LEAD THEM – love me or hate me, THIS IS THE REALITY!!!
Now there is a black-hole left by an IMPLODED MMD, whose vote is all for taking come 2016, young blood such as Elias junior who on their first outing, have trounced big names, will certainly spoil for these votes that are floating in space, HH is bound for OBLIVION come 2016!!!!!!!

  57. I AM VERY SAD WITH THE RESULTS OF THIS ELECTION.
MICHEAL SATA IS WHO WE CHOSE IN THE END. I FEEL FOR US ZAMBIANS.
IN DUE TIME, U GUYS WILL SEE WHAT AM TALKING ABOUT. WE HAVE JUST MADE THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF OUR LIVES.

  58. If you think change is a mistake then die.

Tom Mbewe, you can fool the some people at certain time but you can’t fool all the people all the time.
