    • Vengeance is not great for democracy. I personally thought William Banda was a thug but what is he arrested for? For being MMD’s Lusaka chairman? Zambia’s image should not be tainted by such myopic actions, if he has comitted a crime, then go ahead and charge him but if it’s just cause people hate him, I hardly think tha’s a crime anywhere in the world.

  1. …and now, you can go back to Nyasaland and never come back. By the way, don’t forget (don’t kubeba) to take with you Saidi Awalli (William Banda). We have had enough of you mafiosos….

    • are you mad? what has Obama done so far? he needs more time, so well PF two decades can be about right, just in time for under5 to turn 70

  2. New day has downed. Viva RB for handing over Power peacefuly after a defeat. Mr. Sata the country is yours to Govern.

    God bless Zambia.

  3. Hats off for RB in as much as it is painful to lose not only politics, but there are a lot pipo lose. You have done the Zambian democracy proud this exit is dignified.

  4. the man in the picture is not President Banda but FORMER president banda………imwe fi LT how did MMD manage to brainwash you like this?

  5. @ #9 Warning, you are just a hater and a looser, you are the only one talking shit not even your fellow mmd or upnd suppoters are talking trush like you.Go to hel or pack and follow your shrek in retirement.By the way he will never be head any more in the Zambian politics,he has been retired cant you belive it looser!

  6. #9 Warning pls Sata is our president and in Zambia the president is respected.whatever  your issues with him do not blog them here. The man is over 70years ,respect in whichever way you look at it is compulsory from everyone of us.Even you guys in the opposition can oppose constructively not call the president a lunatic.

  7. At number 9 you make me laugh. Someone called me from China to tell that Zambia is now being led by a snake. I laughed. Lets hope for the best from Sata.

  8. @#9 Warning. Learn to have respect you Plank. Are you a Nai Nai who has lost business ties now that your corrupt minister friends in MMD are gone?

  9. Where are all those guys who were insulting us here that Mr. SATA will never be a president in Zambia? How do you feel now after your slanted and biased analysis?

  10. Banda had no choice it’s part of the handover process and Sata will have to do them same when if finally relinquishes power. It’s a requisite to handover in this manner, there are security issues that need not be shared with people like #9. The handover is not about any particular party, more about national security. All the best to President Sata. To RB please enjoy your retirement you deserve the respect accorded to any former head of state.

  11. This is what we call maturity on the part of both Leaders. If Sata was a satan as some of u bloggers used to call him(God Forbid), he would have refused to associate with RB. And even RB, if he was a Nyamasoya ( as he was called), he would have also just packed and taken ka Honie wife away.

This is good for Zambia. Keep it up Guys.

  12. This good. It shows we have a more mature democracy than most American and EU nations. Sata needs to settle down quickly and begin to work. He already knows state house after all. He has been there several times.

  13. Except that it is the majority Zambians that voted for him, hence I have no choice but to accept him as my President. I love Zambians and Zambia. It is the first time in my life to have to swallow the bitter taste of democracy. My issues with Sata are both positive and negative! His source of wealth is shrouded in mystery as well as his education and no one will tell us the truth. I have known that Sata’s messages are usually incoherent and conjured and mixed in both Bemba and broken English; that it is just a matter of time before his quarrelsome nature resurfaces; finally that he lacks diplomacy. Positive; I liked Sata when he was Lusaka Governor as well as when he was Minister of health. I rubbed shoulders with him during one of those UNZA staff strikes. He is indeed a man of action.

  14. Former President retires at 74 and the President elect Mr. Michael Sata starts work at 75 years old. Is second term a possibility? You can do the sums. I admire the grace with which the Former President hands over the instruments of power. We hope the future outgoing presidents will do the same. The diaspora pipo are walking with their heads high. We solute you both.

  15. In the Post online, Rupiah Banda’s son Andrew has delivered a damning report on the MMD that they misled his father and they have now deserted him. He has singled out Peter Daka and Dora Siliya as the main culprits who behaved like they owned the former president. Please read the full report, it’s worth it and Senior Citizen your comments.

  16. William Banda has been working with Elias Mopndela,he wa always at NHA.His lawyer Chishimba’s young brother is the Manager at Mulungushi International conference center and Mpondela’s former wife brother is the accountant. This money is from NHA and Mulungushi conference center.Mpondela is keeping the money at his friend’s lodge in high bex hill his name is Diwali a INDIAN MAN.cHISHIMBA USED TO WORK AT ZMCOM LODGE AND GOT WAY WITH ALOT OF MONEY.

  17. #6 Thank you for starting your count today, BRAVO ZAMBIA, President Sata and RB, you make us proud. BAIKATA MBALA WILIAM BANDA? Good, it is all about him not MMD cadres, the man was stu.p.id, Bloggers did you Post??? Statement from Andrew Banda? RB’s Son?

  18. Angela Chifire’s resignation is suspect … and Andrew Banda’s out bursts are a way of trying to evade justice and visitation from the law. I hope the President will take it easy and look into these matters without immotion otherwise these crafty characters will trap him. Please allow the man to work independently, you had your chance, now it’s time to get your wages for the work you did good or bad, you owe it to yourselves.

  19. Gents, let this be a lesson to all weather PF or UPND. If William Banda had carried an issue based campaign he would be free and enjoying the cash. He is actually very lucky to have just been taken to Police because this man was ready to kill innocent people.

This also goes to Chanda Chimbwi and Edward Mumbwe. Lets not have the new version of this gentlemen.

  20. no 6 what are u talking about/ this country has been vandalised and u think Rome can be built in 90 days/.just wait and see.ni Nshimbi, shikabomba mukasumina nokusumina

  21. First meal in the state house.what do you have on your menu?your exellence we have roasted monkey, rice and mixed vegetables.muuuuuuh dont bring the monkeys back.

  22. RB mwaume mwe, he deserves big in Zambian society, hope KK can tailor a job for him in KK foundations. Sata please you need to respect RB, he so humble man, also you should feel pit on that young Thandiwe.
Best if he could be offered The Instititute for Democracy which Mwanawasa stole from Chiluba.

  23. @9
    Warning says:

“The Lunatic serpent goes for orientation of state house.” Serpents are reputed for wisdom, not lunacy..”be as wise as serpents..”

    Petro Maango says:
Mon Sep 26 at 6:44 pm Positive; ……. “He is indeed a man of action”. That probably may explain why he is president.

  25. Sata at work already. The first thing he has done is to show us the thieves beginning with William Blunder. Secondly he has showed to the chines that Zambia is for zambians and their investment should benefit Zambians. Thumbs up to H.E MCS.

  26. I want to believe we are all Christians you should remember that presidents like our children are all. i voted for pf but i still want to give credit to FORMER PRESIDENT Banda for handing over the national treasure in a peaceful manner. I know it was not easy because he still want to be in power. Now the people of Zambia have spoken and God has Spoken… We have to give H.E. MICHEAL CHILUFYA SATA. Let us not behave like we did with the late President Mwanawasa. we stressed him and we killed him because we expected to much for him. lets not count the days but expect change with time. we have 5years the H E.

  27. What is RB still doing around state house , go back to chipata, do you want to talk to your cousin president not to be hostile on your administration?

  28. I strongly believe RB’s loss is as a result of his association with wrong people or advisors. The other issue is the aquital of FTJ and the refusal to appeal the case. The third thing is the dubious sales of Zamtel and the new sale of Finance Bank. The abuse of public vehicles and money.Zambian youths are now the majority voters in this country and these are issues affecting youths. This should be a leason of the new government.RB didnt expect such a huge loss to oposition political party.Be focused as a leader and stay blessed.

  29. Reconcilliation is the way forward here, I honestly believe MR. President will tackle the problems between the two factions (MMD and PF) in no time. Elections are over and we have one Zambia. We have shown the whole world that democracy exists in Africa, lets not spoil it now or else the same world will laugh at us. Like we have shown during the elections that the battle is won by a pen and paper lets exercise the same thinking capacity towards our fellow MMD sisters, brothers, sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, grandmoms and grandfathers and lets built one Zambia, one Nation. God bless Zambia.

  30. Zambia is a Christian Nation, a nation that has accepted to live like Christ. May the Lord help the current government to lead Zambia to heaven ant not to hell. hope the dress cord will be revisited, unfortunately their are more drinking halls even more than Churches. a nation were 10 police officers may receive money from 1 driver because of a specific case, why not detain the driver so that he does not drive until the problem is solved? lets pray for each other for our Salvation. Amen.

  31. Remarkable peaceful transfer of power. May it long continue.
We need this peaceful handling of things to be seen at lower levels, the cadres level. Despite political differences, let us observe law and order. Its for the good of our nation.

  32. Well in PE and thinking of getting back to settle home finally only hoping that all Zambians out there will consider doing the same coz Zed needs a lot of development and the best people to do that r Zambians ourselves. ZCCM never used to have major mine accidents am sure we see the difference.Let’s get back home pros.
