Dario Bonetti has revealed that he received his dismissal notice through a phone call from Faz boss Kalusha Bwalya.
Bonetti’s 15 month in charge officially ended on Monday after Football House revealed that the Italian would leave by mutual consent.
“I have nothing in writing I was just called on phone by Kalusha,” Bonetti said. “I am still waiting for official documents right now.”
Bonetti added that he was not shocked by the news and was expecting it.
The Italian 15-month reign has seen him preside over 8 victories,3 draws and 4 losses.
Bonetti said he was not bitter to have been dismissed just after securing Zambia’s place at the Gabon/Equatorial Guinea Africa Cup tournament which is three month away and to be held from January 21 to February 12.
“We had the results we were top of the group sometimes the result is not enough too like in this case,” Bonetti said.

This Italian coach was employed by RB and his minions and I have not seen him doing anything special for the team. He was lucky Zambian boys worked their socks out to qualify because of the talent. I watched many of the games and could see that the team was in all sorts of chaos in terms of substitutions and formation. All the best Mr Dario, it is a new era for Zambia, we are firing and employing in Sata’s regime.

PF is in a hurry to scoop the Africa cup. Infact they expected this Dario coach to get the cup as soon as possible especially from the last match. Now he is talking of January to February 2012. This does not make sense for PF as this time is outside the 90 day timeframe for PF to see results. I am sure we shall have the new coach next week to make sure that he delivers and bring the Africa cup within 90 days that has already been reduced to 79 days.  I end here!

Not a professional way of doing business, but this guy’s appointment was political.
Political or not, Â I think a bit of courtesy would do by having a chat in person and agreeing his dismissal rather than by phone. Surely he may have had some influence in Zambia’s qualification to the AFCON 2012 and sometimes ‘the devil you know is better than an angel you have never seen’. Dario spent most of his lackluster life in Europe.
His style of play is not compatible with Zed football.

I have nearly all games for Zambia during DBs coaching stint. He does not have it! He was just a filler. DB has been fired properly and using the proper FIFA procedure. He should not deceive the media and the public. He knows his sins more than anyone of us. Farewell DB.

Whatever the differences, real men don’t fire others via phone! It is men without a spine that do that to others. Kalusha Bwalya’s number is up!! He must go too. He has been a big joke at running football in Country compared to other greats before him. He has overseen an association whose fortunes have pitifully dwindled over the years due uninspired leadership. We can’t wait to see his back. him combined with the tourist coach did not help matters!!

No 36 zeb Mpinganhira, you are right and FAZ was/is paying for both Bonnetti airfares (Italy/Zambia) and Kalusha’s (JNB/LUN) and put Mr K (as he loves Pamodzi) in hotel accommodation, not forgetting spending money! Which players was he monitoring in Europe anyway? We only have 3 or 4 players playing in Europe of which he can monitor via video.It was more logical to spend more time in Zambia, Lubumbashi and South Africa where we have more players in the national team. You wonder what was so special about European bases players who always start on the bench anyway and the other who is usually injured.
