GRZ won’t Pay for Renards Salary

National soccer team head coach Herve Renard

Sports Minister Fackson Shamenda has said government will not pay Herve Renard’s salary.

Shamenda told Radio Phoenix on Sunday that he hoped Faz had adquet resources to play for the rehired Frenchmans salary.

“I hope thye have the money to pay the coach,” Shamenda said.

“As far as am concerned I dont know how they are employing the coach.

So they have to start looking for money to pay the coach.”

However, Shamenda promised that Government will sponsor Zambia’s 2012 Africa Cup trip in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

“Other areas like the Afica Cup and other ussues governament will always support in sport and we can look around and I think we have budgeted something even if it is not enough,” he said.

Meanwhile, Shamenda critized Faz handled of Renard’s predicessor Dario Bonetti’s firing.

“There was no consultation. they come to my  ministry after they had dismissed the coach,” Shamenda said.

“My ministry is also Ministry of Labour, Youth and Sport so whoever is going to be hired as worker i have to look at the law cos am also the minister of labour.

“You don’t behave like a small boy who says ok you throw away one shoe and then you say my father is going to buy me another shoe without consult the person who is going to buy that shoe.that has got to come to an end.we need to sit dow n together in the final anyaisis nobody is will to interfre in faz affairs in just like I will not interfere in the trade unions and federtaion of empolyers things like that.

“we need to understand their is a law in place which needs the National Sports Council of Zambia to be involved in what is happening in any sport but they are incvolved in every other sport but not football..oh come on.. it has got to change we shall make sure their is sanity.”

  1. even chiluba and sata refused to pay air fare for the national team until FAZ hired the buffalo

  2. That is worrying, honestly how do somebody take up such a decision without informing the pay master? Wina azalila.

  3. there is some really bad grammar and a lot of misspelled  words, it wouldn’t hurt to proofread

  4. There is foolishness and childishness at FAZ. Help have mature people there for mature decisions.

  5. Good. The Chaps are always losing anyway. Just get a cheap coach Like Beston Chambeshi or Fighton Simukonda, Instead of these bums who never win anything and go back to their countries with the loot !

  6. If FAZ had entrepreneur brains in its leadership I don’t see why they should problems footing the bill; Paying the coach, organising competitive friendlies overseas eg. in Europe and South America and employing a full-time professional back room staff…Kalu is just an empty suit there just kick him out serving himself for a position in Zurich his grandpa Sepp Blatter promised him.

  7. #1 agreed. The man is contradicting himself. If GRZ is the Father and FAZ the boy/son, then GRZ should pay for the coach ie buy the boy shoes. What is Shamenda say here?

    • What he means is that the boy should not throw away his shoes before consulting the father. What if the father is broke or has other projects and is budgeting for something else. a used shoe would do for the son at the moment. The father is caring for the son and know when to buy him shoes. FAZ should have waited for the decision on the coach from the ministry.

Okay..whose the halfwit who typed this article just too many spelling mistakes….please switch on your Spell checker…what’s happening with you chaps lately??

  9. He means, you cant throw away your shoes without asking your father. Asking and agreeing with your father for you to throw them so he can buy new ones. if you throw away your shoes without asking is all on the you.Kaya maybe you don’t understand because of the bad grammar.

  10. Grammer ba LT, whose the amarture who wrote the article? Bad construction of words . . .

  11. @15

Its spelt as “Grammar” not “Grammer” and “Amateur” not “amarture”.

  12. Kalusha and team should be taught a lesson. You can’t have it both ways. If you want government funding you can’t have it if you don’t want govt to know where the money is going. Full stop. Thank God, somebody at last is seeing sense. We have had too much nonsense at FAZ behaving like small boys or as if FAZ is a country on its own.

  13. I always laugh reading such articles because i dont know whether its written in English or a zambian local language. Well u are trying cos. English is for us whites and not blacks. How mauch is the frenchman’s salary?

  14. Government must wake up to the reality of how FAZ officials, especially Kalusha eat money there. Huge sums of money are pocketed through travelling for away games, such as the recent India outing. Most of this money is probably that of sponsors, with whom they have certain dubious arrangements. I’ve also ever wondered how we lose games while playing so well. Angola was one such case where I felt we were by far a more superior team to both Nigeria and Cameroun, but we lost….., and am really hoping that the recent trip to India was not a game fixing strategic planning session too!!! WATCH THE SPACE!

  15. Shamenda please can we discuss that after Africa Cup.we dont have much time as you can see january is around the corner.#17 you are right lol.

  16. Ba LT does not know the diffelence between “ero” and “ala”. The glammar is wlong and the sperring is tellible. Feel shy mwandi.
