Don’t abuse public resources- Sata

Share

President Michael Sata

President Sata warned Government officials against abusing public resources which were at their disposal but ensure that they used funds for the good of the Zambian people.

He was speaking when he swore in Muchinga Province Minister, Malozo Sichone; Gender in Development Deputy Minister, Emmerine Kabanshi and other senior Government officials.

“The offices you are going in, there is so much imprest and with the imprest, don’t go and buy too much talk time, don’t go and buy 17 receivers because tomorrow the same people who are buying that talk time will turn against you.[pullquote]For example in one of these UPND newspapers, Times cakuti-cakuti, Hakainde has put a full page advert that Sata has single-sourced Apollo to repair State House.[/pullquote]

“For example in one of these UPND newspapers, Times cakuti-cakuti, Hakainde has put a full page advert that Sata has single-sourced Apollo to repair State House.

Because our Minister of Justice is dead, that’s why he can get away with that lie. I don’t even know where they buy cement,” Mr Sata said.

President Sata also swore-in Amos Chanda, as deputy secretary for Press and public relations at State House; Ms Mwamba Mutale as Permanent Secretary for Gender In Development and Victor Mwamba Peni as public policy analyst at Cabinet Office.

Meanwhile, Mr Silungwe assured the nation that his committee will do the best it can to produce a sound Constitution.
“Zambians should expect the best from us. We are yet to discuss the time frame but the Constitution will be ready before the end of next year,” Mr Silungwe said.

  1. This backwardness of condemning everything is bad. I have not seen anything to condemn what the president has done in the above article. And also the hatred and anger from the bantustaan against the bembas is not taking the country anywhere.

  2. #2 KCI this is the second time I am seeing your same (not even similar) message. Are you a robocop for PF? Please have some originality and variation to disguise your obvious preference to everything Sata. We will respect as well as condemn him since he is the president and overall, public servant.

  3. mmm mudala please relax, why choose chanda, mwamba, mutale, Luchembe, etc all from the same northern village? Are you seriously telling us, no one from Sesheke, Monze, Solwezi can perform these duties. This is why pipo think you are tribalist? Balancing act does not mean appoint pipo from the same province but different districts NO! Nangu ni donchi kubeba, bushe niifi?

  4. bauze dady bauze, kama bana beba makuta ya zambie tuta babamba nakubapeleka ku bilo batashangiya nakushangiya

  5. He swore in Muchinga Province Minister, Malozo Sichone; Gender in Development Deputy Minister, Emmerine Kabanshi. Sata also swore-in Amos Chanda, as deputy secretary for Press and public relations at State House; Ms Mwamba Mutale as Permanent Secretary for Gender In Development and Victor Mwamba Peni as public policy analyst at Cabinet Office……….. ALL BEMBAS……Does this chikopo of a president know that there are other people others than Bembas in Zambia?

  6. i wonder y tongas are crying foul over satas appointments when they have shown that they dont like him.y azimipapatila ngati mupusa.continue yo silly comments he has 5yrs mandate.

  7. I thought KK was one of Sata’s advisors, so why does’nt he teach him One Zambia One Nation? If Sata would remember KK’s Zambianisation, why not One Zambia One nation? I don’t mind him appointing Bembas, but please not BEMBAS ONLY!! And by the way, I also don’t care which OTHER tribes, just as long as he replicates the demographics of this country in all key positions!!

  8. i was one of the defender of MCS when he appointed his cabinet which some ppl acused him of being tribal but now its too———————–much of the northeners .can somebody from state house cautously advice the presi.this is a dangerous move he is implanting in our minds, next presi will do the some appointing nyanjas or tongas thats planting hatred for other tribes.please please SATA i hope this is the last, being bemba myself my conscience is not at peace with this.this is how JOMO KANYENTA did appointing the KINKUS ,today the kinkus are boosting of being the richest tribe in kenya and other tribes dont like them.

  9. let ppl have common sense condemn whats wrong regardless ur political affilliation, Having a Bemba ruled Zambia its civilized, voters may not be that educated but the Leader is expected to be more mature and better educated atleast.

  10. How I wish the Easterners and other people from other provinces could complain the same way Bantustans forever in opposition are complaining. Are Bantustans the only oppositions in Zambia now? Give PF some Mps and they will be appointed as ministers period!

  11. APOLLO CONTSTRUCTIO IS ALEXANDER CHIKWANDA, WHO IS ALSO A RELATIVE OF THE MCS. THIS DEAL IS NOT DIFFERENT WITH WADE ADAMS.

  12. #11 Planzo please check your facts. The kikuyus are not where they are because of govt appointments. They are mostly traders, farmers, property developers and industrialists. Those are not govt appointments.Govt posts don’t pay much and aren’t that many anyway so the vast majority of the riches of 6.5m kikuyus could not possibly all come from govt posts. There are other factors such as their close proximity to Nairobi, they got educated & had schools close to them before others & they have fewer cultural roadblocks than other tribes to hold them back.I know this as my mum is from kenya and my dad from CB.

  13. MCS has glossed over how APOLLO was appointed to renovate State House. Why has he not told the nation how APPOLO was appointed to lay to rest accusations of single sourcing practices which was prevalent in MMD government and undermined MMD’s fight against corruption. Its irrelevant how APPOLO sources its cement. APPOLO are being paid from tax payers/donors money and Zambian/donors have a legitimate right to know how MCS (as custodian of taxpayers/donors purse) is using these resources.
