The Baroste Royal Establishment (BRE) has reaffirmed its position of being non-partisan and committed to working with the government of the day.

Senior Chief Anan’anga Imwiko of Namayula Palace in Lukulu District said the BRE is mandated to work with the government of the day because the party in then, represents the wishes of Zambians.

The Chief said the position of being non-partisan has been misunderstood by many people and political parties.

He was speaking in Lukulu when Western Province Permanent Secretary Augustine Seyuba called on him at his palace during a familiarization tour.

The Chief emphasized that the BRE’s obligation is to work with the government of the day as decided by Zambians that include the people of Western Province during election.

He said the policy of BRE is to work with the government of the day as always government is responsable for the development of the country with the involvment of traditional leaders.

” How do you expect me to say I belong to this party when all the development brought to my area is being initiated by the party in power? he said.

Senior Chief Anan’anga has since appealed to government to initiate projects that will help change the poor status of the district and province as whole saying there is a lot work to be done if the province is to hold its rightful position.

  1. THESE ARE THE PROGRESSIVE LOZIS, NOT IFYA SHALA. ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION! NOT EACH TIME A LOZI OPENS HIS/HER THE MOUTH, GREEDY, SELFISHNESS AND ARROGANCE COMES OUT IT. UYOYE Chief Anan’anga !

  2. If the chief had said the same thing during RB’s time, a certain section of the Zambian population would have accused him of having been bought…..

  3. BRE that is good development. We need such type people to move Zambia forward. That chief should be commended by the Government for such good statements. Thank you Chief. Tell others also of that wonderful idea.

  4. Why is this BRE treated like an institution with executive powers when they are realistically just the same as the Mwata Kezembe, Mpezeni and any other cheifdoms in the country? This practise must end coz it contributes to enhancing the expectation on the part of the Lozi people that they’ll at some point secede from Zambia. To me this is utter nonsense and govt must come up with an outright declaration that this will never happen so that we continue with our oneness as equal and united Zambians. I have alot of Lozi friends and many Lozi and Nkoya people I have heard our who dissociate themselves from these aspirations of secession. Clearly, therefore the desire to secede is not widespread western province. So our Govt should handle this matter with the boldness it deserves, period!

  5. @6 (insulting yet again)…………………………………… How would you feel if some ***** described your mum, sister, daughter, wife or granny in such insulting terms? how would you treat that ***** for insulting women you respect in such a manner? Do you think the *****s comments should be allowed or should the ***** be barred for using such a name?????????? As for your comment, it seems anything favourable to our govt is not good for you.HE Sata is our elected president, leader of every part of our nation ..if you don,t like it tough boy! PF is in power another 3 terms, HE MCS is in charge best you get used to it

  6. WANU NGWEE WHAT IS YOUR POINT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. YOU PRETEND TO HAVE MANY LOZI AND NKOYA FRIENDS YET YOU SOUND TO HAVE SO MUCH HATRED AGAINST THE BRE. LISTEN THE BRE IS OUR GOD GIVEN CULTURE AND NO ONE WILL EVER TAKE IT AWAY FROM US. GO WHEREEVER YOU ORIGINATE FROM AND PROMOTE YOUR OWN CULTURE IF YOU HAVE ANY. WE LOZIS ARE PROUD OF OUR CULTURE AND WE HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE.
    THANKS

  7. Wanu Ngwee, Listen to this 4 the Last time. First you are so dull. Should we go back to History i start elaborating some of the things why BRE is treated like this. If you were really a Zambian you could have known, the reason behind is that you hate the Barozians. NO, you cannot compare Mwata, Mpezeni with the leadership of the Lozies. These Chiefs had know influence in the Zambian politics, that is why wen the Lozies open their mouths wanu ngwee, u a.s.s shakes why? Go back to history u fugitive WANU NGWEE

  8. @10 & @11,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,is it because the lozi chiefs are so powerful that western province is still in the iron age and why non of you lozi,s can be allowed to lead zambia?

  9. # ishee m. Litia: ‘NO, you cannot compare Mwata, Mpezeni with the leadership of the Lozies. These Chiefs had know influence in the Zambian politics, that is why wen the Lozies open their mouths wanu ngwee, u a.s.s shakes’ What utter arrogance and nosense!! Kindly know that everyone is an immigrant into Zambia, also read your hitosry of the Makololo and the lozis. Also read this from the BA64:

”And where as it is the wish of the government of northern Rhodesia and
of the Litunga of Barotseland, his council and the chiefs and people of
Barotseland that northern Rhodesia should proceed to independence as
one country and that all its peoples should be one nation” Signed and sealed. Period

  10. Gentlemen, let us be honest now, the Barotse Royal Establishment is the oldest and the only once in the country that encompases one entire province. This senior chief Anang’anga Imwiko has a bachelors and masters degrees from the UK and it is an insult to the intelligentia to compare him with functional illierates like Mwata Kazembe and Mpezeni. Further, Mpezeni ki sitoto and is a well known rapist. Mwata Kazembe ni mfwiti yokanga, he is the one who gave Katele that infamous traditional computer to enable him “hide in the open”. Kupusa ba tubulu aba nyina mumenshi muleke ai!

    • =you are one tribal *****, is this why Lozi women prefer to marry out of your tribe needles you call dicks are too tiny

  11. @13 Seventh Day Adventist. It should be very difficult and sad for you being full of such hatred. You know hatred usually destroys the hater! The whole country my dear is backward. Actually statistics are such that 64% of Zambians are classified as living below the poverty line. Western Province with a resident population of 800 000 does not constitute the majority of the 64% of poor Zambians. The latest 2010 CSO incidence of poverty in the country ranks Luapula province as having the highest percentage (80.5%) of poverty incidence. All provinces except 4 Copperbelt and Lusaka provinces have poverty levels above 50%. We are a poor country and we should dedicated our efforts towards uplifting all provinces. That is the challenge we face. Zambia’s HDI is still below the African average!

  12. @13 SDA. Zambia has had Thonga President in KK with Malawian heritage. Then there was Chiluba a Luapula Lunda, followed by Levy Lenje/Lamba; RB (Chewa) and Sata (Bisa/Bemba). From your warped analysis there should be tens of ethnic groups in Zambia that are ‘not allowed’ to rule Zambia and not just Lozis.
Your kind of thinking can only come from a head which has Sobi nshinda paper for a brain.

  13. Kamazi@ 16& @17…………………………………..name one lozi who has ruled Zambia, not your *****ic ranting about shinda paper, which l am about to use to clean myself after servicing this Lozi beauty next to me, she has already given me 2 sons thank you 2 more will do so we cleanse your names with ours.

  14. @18 Seventh Day Adventist. You are a symptom of what is wrong in Zambia. You obviously cannot comprehend what is contained in a simple paragraph. The ‘Rant’ is the Rubbish you’ve written. Please dont waste my time! A simple Grade 9 would have understood what I have written @ 17……eeish! Go get an education boy….you are obviously a very dull person! There are 73 ethnic groups in Zambia. Only 4 of those have provided Presidents. It is not because some ‘tribes’ are not allowed. No one has control over this. All the past presidents of Zambia never thought that one day their ‘ethnicity’ will be ‘allowed’ the Presidency. Only an id.iot like you would think that an ethnic group can be allowed or disallowed the presidency. Zambians elect Presidents and not tribes.

  15. @11,12 & 15 My point is that BRE will never have executive powers in Zambia and will never secede from Zambia. Western Province shall forever be part of Zambia and all people living there will forever be Zambian of equal status as those of Zambia’s other 8 (now 9) provinces. Wake up to that reality and accept it coz not even the grand children of your great grandchildren shall witness a country called Barotseland. UNIP liberated Zambia from colonial rule, but are not asking for any special status, so should the BRE? Just live with all of us and let’s enjoy our Zambia together as brothers and sisters. Let’s together deal with contemporary issues and not ancient and tried arguments!

  16. CORRECTION: “…grand children of your great grandchildren shall NEVER witness a country called Barotseland…”
