PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Copperbelt provincial chairperson Rebby Chanda’s son, Darlington, has been murdered in South Africa.
Mr Chanda, who confirmed the death of his 28-year-old son in an interview on Monday, said the killing happened on Saturday night in Cape Town.
“I was informed about his death yesterday (Sunday). I am told he was stabbed with a knife and died instantly,’’ Mr Chanda said.
He said his son, who was living in South Africa where he worked as a driver, was stabbed by unknown people as he tried to stop a fight.
Mr Chanda, who is currently making arrangements to fly to South Africa to collect his son’s body, said Darlington has left behind a son and that his wife is expecting another child.
“We have received information that three suspects in connection with the murder have been arrested while one of them is still on the run,’’ Mr Chanda said.
He said Darlington was in the company of his friends at the time of his death.

my deeep condolences to the family
KNOWING HOW CORRUPT SOUTH AFRICANS ARE, THE SUSPECTS ARE ALREADY RELEASED. IN SOUTH A SUSPECT CAN BUY THE HIS DOCKET FROM THE POLICE, OH THEY ARE WICKED PEOPLE.
its a pity they came out on a R1000 bail each, honestly how will they stop if they are given bails for as little as R1000.He was killed for nothing .
Never try to separate when South African are fighting. Those *****s to them killing(Ukubulala) is normal.MHSRIP
MHSRIP. Stupid people.
my heartfelt condolences
Very sad.South africans care little for life. When you live there you have to live a very quiet life and don’t mix much with locals.
my condolences to the family. M.H.S.R.I.P
Sincere condelences to our Chairman and may the soul of Darlington rest in eternal peace. I only hope all suspects will be apprehended and justice to be done.
Sorry my friends .May the good Lord give you strength in such trying moments. MHSRIP.
My prayers are with the bereaved family–MHSRIP.
condolences ……
its true those south africanas care less about life and if you mix too much and party too much you meet your fate there. too bad for the young man AND SAD TO THE WIDOW AND KID and half. MHSRIP.
we are together ba chanda too bad
South Africans are very wicked people, they hate foreigners. I have had my horrible experiences. Rest in Peace brother.
too bad chairman, south african pipo are bad pipo
It depends on where and with whom you interact with. Even in Kanyama, Chibolya, Chiplukusu, Misisi etc there are extremely bad people such that you should never walk around carelessly lest you are butchered. The problem is most illegal immigrants in South want to hide from the authorities in the ghettos thinking thats where they are safe among the masses of poverty.
Sorry
My sincere condolences.
RIP…its a journel all but take not knowing when we arrive as it is appointed forevery to arrive home “habakhathle boet”
Sincere condolences.
Sorry and Condolences Big Man.
MHSRIP. My condolences
Too sad sir. You’re in our mind. And orayer are with you.
condolence to the family of the deceased
condolences…………..RIP
MHRIP. Cape Town used to be relatively peacefull. It appears the Jo`burg barbarians have drifted to the mother city
All the four suspects have been arrested and appeared in court yesterday it was bad and even when we went to the police station on sunday morning for body identification some relatives of the suspects were insulting us say makwilikwili go back to your country. we will remain focused and mourn our hero
MHRIP…..>>>>>>>>>>>>>Some of the comments here are misleading as if to say Southafricans are all murderers and Zambians are saints… My brother was killed in the similar way by Zambians on the copperbelt when he tried to stop a fight a cousin was tangled up in, someone came up behind him and clubbed his head with a hammer from a nearby car boot. His murders were released from custody after they bribed the police.
Savages are also found all over Zambia, they even kill their own wives for useless or no reasons at all and they call themselves a nation of christians. Please!!
M.H.S.R.I.P this is really sad. OUR SWEET ZAMBIA IS SO PEACEFUL. Tourist Board of Zambia has always failed to tell the world how safe Zambia is. South Africa is not a place to visit; they take murder as a hobby.
Continu………Now they call us zambians?? makwerekwere?? And yet their ANC headquarters used to be in Lusaka?? Very unthankful people, we will see as that country will soon disintegrate. Let Mandela go, Drama will start.
to bad for our brother who has been killed
Such incidents remind us to strive harder to make our own country the best possible place to be. Leadership must unite the country to enhance working towards same goals. Divisions slow down progress because it reduces the number of contributors towards required development. We pray for strength for the bereaved family & MHSRIP.
South Africans are thankless people. They have forgotten that their struggle from the white minority rule was financed by us Zambians together with other Countries. The advise i have my fellow Zambians is to avoid going to RS A if you can. That country is so volatile since the people there have no respect for human life.
condolences to the Chanda family during this trying period.
Those thankless illitrates you are talking about have no idea what Zambians sacrificed for them to be where they are. Any why should we expect too much from them when they did’nt apply to be “helped”? Same thing with the Zimbos. I hope we have learnt a lesson and next time just mind our own affairs like Malawi’s late Kamuzu Banda did.
Too bad for the young man. My heart goes to the family. Over and above that, I am very touched by the spirit of brothewrhood exhibited by the bloggers. This is unprecedented, it shows that we may be Tongas, Bembas, Kachokwes and so on,but when anybody touches one of us, we close our ranks and mourn as one Family. The politicians who try to divide us should learn from this kind of thing really. My brother Junya #28 has a point. But what we are talking about here is the crime index, especially as regards to murder. South Africa Tops in the world. Thats a fact.
thall shall not kill….. fik.ala fya.bo..
I was reading a book entitled “City of Crime” at one of the Airports in the US. The book is about the Nazi but a person sited next to me asked whether the book was about J’burg.
too bad,we are with you mr chanda…
@No 28 JUNYA you are right. But again Zambians are better of than South Africans. The levels of crime is just too high in S.A. As for your brother it was very unfortunate. MHSRIP.
condolences the widow and the entire family . We zambians should stop this hero worshing of foreigners . South africans and Tswanas are very discriminatory make them feel the same when they come to our country God bless Zambia the Champions of Africa
Am so much touched by all the msgs here and @28,for sure you can’t compare crime rate in SA to Zambia, rest in peace brother.
MHSRIP
The reason i hate SA, you rat you die, too many gangs. The chaps are now killing innocent foreigners like cockroaches. Anyway we await your land doldrums when things begin to fall apart, we shall avenge these atrocities.
chabipa ba Darlington, nomba maileshani kuyabomba yabudriver. Limbi amangwe bawise bamipele alipulunganya. Mwe bantu napapata mule enda bwino ku South . No ukulaimonesha. iyo. MYSRIP
tomba noko
Awe chabipa san Ba Darington,
This is the second death of a Zambian in south Africa in 2 weeks The other one was shot dead in Jo’burg and buried in Choma last saturday. Please take care. MSRIP.
My condolence to the Family and MHSRIP.
The other problem is the Police will never bother to pursue a case involving a kwerekwere. Our Zambian embassy doesn’t follow up such cases. A musician from the former Rising Stars band was killed by a known person in the 90s in Jo-burg but the embassy and the Police have done nothing to bring the culprit to book
It’s the most violent country that not under civil war.Don’t go and spend your money there.Let their tourism dollar plummet and we’ll see what they will do.
This is a country where, after the apatheid era ended no one told them to put the murder weapons down. It is a beautiful country, one of the most violent countries in the world and the murder rate is alarming. In South Africa, human life has a price—you can be killed for $1. My advice when you are in South Africa: keep a low profile and be very selective of local friends and places to visitors, always be on your guard. MHSRIP.
Darlington Ngoma was my brother in law. On behalf of the family I want to sincerely thank you all for your kind words. The trial is meant to start on rhe 16th March. Please pray for justice.
