Africa Cup Trophy Hits CB

The Africa Cup trophy hits the Copperbelt this weekend on its second leg of its nationwide tour.

The trophy is expected in Ndola Wednesday evening ahead of private view on Thursday in Ndola.

“The trophy will be in Ndola tonight, tomorrow there will be a private viewing by provincial leaders and other dignitaries,” Faz communications officer Erick Mwanza said.

On Friday the Africa Cup trophy will be on display in Ndola before stopping over in Kitwe on Saturday and later move on to Solwezi.

No views have yet been announced for Africa cup trophy’s public display.

Mwanza said the trophy will also be on display at the Faz annual general meeting set for March 31 at Moba Hotel in Kitwe.

The trophy has just completed its first leg nationwide tour after a three-day stop in Southern Province where it stopped over in Livingstone, Choma and briefly in Kalomo.

  1. Hey that trophy should go through all the Copperbelt towns. Zambian Football was made there! Luanshya Mufulira Chililabombwe should be part of its itinerary. It should not be shown only to politicians in Ndola and Solwezi who merely watch games on TV. Shinde Stadium, Gabittas Konkola stadium Roan Mpatamatu should host the trophy to public view so that the kids there can see what they all the time aspire to win. Get your act in order you government officials!

  2. Anaza serious waste of time and money. Real soccer fans would have travelled to see the cup. Sata should fire the chap who is wasting good money on worthless issues !!

  3. lol…imwe sure is it the same case when a country wins worldcup that the trophy should go round….yes we are happy but how much has it costed anyway…!!

  4. I agree with Sata’s brother entirely. The Copperbelt is the largest producer of national team players and the most popular powerful teams like Nkana, Power, Wanderers, Roan, Nchanga, etc. So the trophy should be shown in more towns than Ndola only. Which national team players is from Ndola anyway? At the very least, let the trophy be taken to Kitwe’s Freedom Park or City Square for viewing. Because of Kitwe’s centrality on the Copperbelt, this may make it easier for fans from other Copperbelt towns to view it before .it is taken to Solwezi.

    • Max “Mbuzi” do you follow soccer? keep your ignorance to yourself. At least 5 members of the Africa cup winning team have played for Zesco before namely Joseph Musonda, Rainford Kalaba, Hichani Himoonde, Jonas Sakuwaha and Nyambe Mulenga still with Zesco. Do your homework my friend.

  5. At Moba Motel during the FAZ AGM-another way of the Kalu Admin campaign strategy. Are the football players -the winning also escorting the trophy or its only Kalu and his executive members. So there is no need for Kalu to campaign the Trophy tours is doing that for him.Ba Munaile labeni kofye bakamba, umwaice wenu napita bakamba.

  6. awe mu zambia we are too petty…just wasting taxpayer’s money instead of putting that money to good use when we have lots of problems to sought out…ine icikani!!!! :o
