Clement Sinyinda in traditional gear Ngambela of Barosteland

The date for long awaited Barotse National Council (BNC) in Western Province is scheduled to hold on the 25th of March 2012.

Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) Premier Ngambela Clement Sinyinda announced the date on Wednesday night on two community radio stations namely Lyambai and Liseli respectively.

Ngambela Sinyinda said the BNC will be held for three days at Limulunga royal village adding that attendance will be strictly by invitation.

And Western Province Police Commissioner Farnwell Siandenge has cautioned members of the public against inciting violence during the meeting.

Mr. Siandenge said that police officers will be sent to Limulunga on the material day to help maintain law and order during the BNC proceedings saying anyone found inciting violence will not be entertained.

“The presence of police officers will be there to help maintain law and order during the proceedings, So people should not take advantage of this very important meeting to try and create confusion” the commissioner said.

He said the service working hand in hand with the BRE security guards have already put all necessary security measures in place to ensure that the proceedings of the meeting are peaceful.

Mr. Siandenge has since appealed to members of the public who wish to attend the meeting to have a sober mind and follow the proceedings peacefully.

  1. What the heck is this…Do these lozi chaps really think they can be a mini-nation..Chaps plz tell us your bounderise and the Pipo under u? Think before u start inciting yo subordinates??? U ARE GOING NO-WHERE….

  2. the hour has come for barotseland. all our haters will now see that Barotses know their rights, that we respect our King, and the police were rather emmotional in dealing with us last year.
we want our rule back, our democrasy back, and all the structures that GRZ destroyed. their laws to destroy the barotse Government shall be deeclared null and voice and Sata and his agents will be wise to keep away from us.

  3. the police must resisit from proving us. infact we have our own security. why allow these zed killers? the presence of police from zambia will only irrate people.

  4. But why does this police state called zambia want to send policemen to barotseland when they have their own security ?
Barotseland is a sovereign state that can manage its own affairs. We will not entertain zambia meddling in barotseland affairs.

  5. Imwe guys imwe. Finshi mulebosa kanshi? Kwisa mwamwene Barotse? Muma book ayi? Baliocha ama book yalya so Barotse yalipilamo yaliya no mulilo. Imito bayaposela na kumanenekela.

  6. The BNC was once outlawed by KK in the 60s.
It is very interesting to see the PF government not challenging this gathering on the basis of illegal assembly.
The KUTA and the BNC are perhaps the most important instruments of power in Lozi administration.
There is a chance that indeed the Barotse nation is on the verge of restoration.

  7. There at times people do not came to terms with changes in events … Gadaffi called Benghazi revolutionaries rats, where is he now?The point is , no one knows what each Zambian is thinking right now, are they  happy to  be fooled all the time by politics of deceits …I don’t think so. South Sundan have taken 100 years before got separared …there is ICC now, you don’t just kill people…

    • I am disappointed to learn that the Etobicoke store celosd down. I used it all the time I thought business would be pretty good there. I gave you the store a great review on my community food blog a couple years ago. I hope the new owners will do it up proper.Come back Vince, come back westBob

  8. Donqueen Thats the reason why we are still here, because he (KK) did not have sustainable solutions to the issue. MCS has a desire to find a lasting solution and is not willing to fail like other previous governments. Thats the difference.

  9. the disrespect that successive Zambian governments have shown towards the people of Barotseland, by trashing the only legal instrument in which their rights as Zambians have been enshrined, has been so intense and profound that it has been palpable. Now we say enough is enough; we cannot have enougher because there is no such word. Thus, going forward, and in order to ensure that these things do not happen to us ever again

  10. Why is it that after the Zambian government’s termination of the Barotseland Agreement 1964, in 1969, it continued to subject the people of Barotseland to its governance and administrative structures?
It is common knowledge that, before its termination, the Barotseland Agreement 1964 was the only legally binding instrument which occasioned that the people of Barotseland be part of a country called Zambia. Thus, when the union between Barotseland and Northern Rhodesiawas wilfully terminated by the Zambian government in 1969, the direct meaning of this action was that, the two principal signatories to the Agreement were now free to pursue their own sovereignty and self-determination.Mwa Silozi luli KI MUZIBA HABO.

    • My one and only question is : If Barotseland becomes independent, will Lozis resident in other parts of Zambia be declared illegal immigrants and/ or will it mean repatriating them to their home land?

  11. Have ur meeting and eat ur sand do not drag us into this nosense, besides I dont think any Zambian can agree to be ruled by these greedy people.Lozis are generally greedy. May all Lozis living in other areas of Zambia please leave us and join their sandy country.

  12. I want to be honest with my fellow Lozis over this barotse issue. It is a very complicated issue which can just cause bloodshed.People are being mislead by those who are attached to the loyal family (lusika lwa mulena) to try and resurrect this old issue such that they can benefit on your behalf because by then you be known as slaves to the King (batanga). The moment i looked at the barotse map i just nodded my head and went to sleep do you guys think the likes of CongoDR, Angola, Namibia or Zimbabwe can allow to cut their countries? From there alot of us have married from other tribes already and we mix well with them as of now.The blame goes to our old leaders who agreed to be Mislead by KK, and thats it, it happened.Lets just find means of developing our province since it is rich naturally

    • This to me is highly sensible and if really other people from the W/P think in this direction, we will be comfortable as a Nation

  13. @Boko haram, lozis are welcome to stay in SP whether or not they secede. If they secede, they can enter SP without visas or passports. The converse shall be true. The presence of BRE in Choma is not a coincidence. Our Chiefs will be invited to the BNC, not Chitimukulu or Mpezeni. Be warned.

  14. Nothing wrong with having a meeting. Its your democratic right. Not even a mad president or insane police officer can deny you that right. With all the sanity we have in Zambia, I urge you to go ahead. Cheers

  15. Just when I sighed that all this tribal crap has been put to rest here comes another lunny one.
I just have ONE question and hopefully Barotse son and gang will answer this one for me.
Why do you people think Bemba speaking people owe you anything and why do you blame them for your underdevelopment?
By the way,I am still waiting for your ngabela and your chief to come and challenge our Crown.

  16. # Pippa – No Lozi person has said Bemba speaking people owes us anything. Its you who said that. We are only saying, we want to govern ourselves in our Land (Barotseland). We want to move out of Zambia. We had 98Million pounds that KK used to develop other provinces. Please keep waiting and you will see the best we can this time.

    • You had 98Million pounds? Royalties given to you by the BSAC but which really should have been given to the Lambas. You’re going to have to pay it back to them – with interest.

  17. # 21 Pippa – No Lozi person has said Bemba speaking people owes us anything. Its you who said that. We are only saying, we want to govern ourselves in our Land (Barotseland). We want to move out of Zambia. We had 98Million pounds that KK used to develop other provinces. Please keep waiting and you will see the best we can this time.

  18. NEXT date for long awaited Bantu Botatwe National Council (BBNC) in Southen Province is scheduled to be held on the ………2012 in chirundu oh …….sorry itezh tezhi.

  19. The Litunga lied about the extent of his kingdom that is why he was recieving mineral royalties from mines on the Copperbelt in Lamba land. If we are to isolate or remove land for the Mbundas, Nkoyas and other ethnic groups in Western province, there will be almost nothing left of the “Barotse land”.

  20. Make sure that the expatriates from barotseland working in Zambia are paid in dollar terms at international rates.

  21. LT stop being biased my comments carries no insults or u are distabed by my name its my name and ill never change it!be pro check wat others writes they insults as they wish.

  22. # 28 Honest Earnest. KI NAKO. Litunga never lied about his kingdom. Western is not Barotseland but the railway is the boundary. Just enjoy the game. Ki nako.

  24. #3 LUCY, you seem to be in Mauritius; with which passport did you travel? BUT what really makes these BRE people think that other countries do not historically have a claim on portions of what is today called Zambia – especially western province itself, just like Kamuzu Banda died with the conviction that Chipata and other parts of our eastern province were part of Malawi? SERIOUSLY, all of this now calls for a National referendum on the redemarcation of our provinces, based on ease of logical governance and effective service delivery!

    • Simply desire to say your arltcie is as astonishing. The clarity to your submit is simply cool and i can think you are an expert in this subject. Well together with your permission let me to take hold of your feed to stay up to date with imminent post. Thanks a million and please keep up the gratifying work.

  25. I Will take leave.. I mean 7 days off..I need to go and attend this very important national council. Finally…uuuu sigh of relief..It is declared…Free at last. God bless Barotseland. The Zambian Governments have tried to destroy Bulozi but they have always failed. If We (Zambia) cant see the urgency that this matter requires and concentrate on moving districts and creation of provinces then Zambia is doomed for failure. Barotse is a national problem..if you have nothing to say please shut up. Leave it to us we shall sort it out.

  26. Hey go go Lozis go. People say Western Province is full of sand and nothing to offer. Its people are primitive and tribal so why the fuss of it breaking away? Ma Lozi we are fully behind you. Amubaleke aba ba satani babantu. KINAKO

  27. Litunga and co.
Point of correction I am not Bemba but having been born on the C’Belt speak the lingua franca.Personally I did not grow up with all this tribal crap of people paying homage to a chief.
This 2012 and not 1800BC for goodness!

  28. #17 Fresh Mind
Every peace loving human being needs to read your contribution. What we lack in Africa is finding a lasting solution which will not only benefit us but also our children’s children. You live in the US and you know to what lengths the US govt can go in protecting its citizens. But we have selfish people in Zambia whose agenda is to only cause chaos.

  29. whatever you say aluta continua. Let the Kolwes have their Chiti Mwaiche, an illiterate stinking cief. For us , forward wiyh Barosteland, to hell with Muchinga

  30. #45 Samason you have very serious mental issues that I think only a brain transplant will remedy.Such reasoning is only reserved for institutions.Get help before it is too late because with a mind like that your brain is already scarred.

  31. WHY DOES SATA NEED TO SEND THE POLICE WHEN WE HAVE OUR OWN SECURITY?
TO KILL OFF MORE PEOPLE AND RAPE OUR WOMEN??
NOT THIS TIME SATA – NAKO IFITILE. BULOZI KI NAHA YALUNA. UKAISE NIBATANGA BAHAO KAUFELA.

    • Ooyee leave Mr Sata out of this.If anything you ought to be grateful that he is at least listening to you.
If you guys had enough balls or serious about what you are doing you would first drop everything including your jobs in Lusaka etc and head back to ‘your’ land asap.Otherwise it will just be a war of words.

  32. We the nkoyas are not part of this no sense. You lozis are selfish and think you can take us as slaves. Try angola and see how the will bomb your stupid litunga.

  33. 49# You Lozis are selfish) you are stupid, how many times are we going to teach you. Who is a Lozi?

  34. Thanks for answering my pvouiers post about the flyer.I’ve since asked the people at the store and they say that not all of the specials apply at their location.I’m sure I’m not alone in wishing that you’d either have a dedicated flyer for your Bloor St. location or guaranty all of the prices from one of your flyers. Is a flyer in the works? If so, how soon? Thanks
