Siulapwa back in Zambia, urges people to give more time to President Sata to fix problems

New Generation Party leader Humphrey Siulapwa

New Generation Party (NGP) president Humphrey Siulapwa has resurfaced after a seven months long absence from the country.

Mr. Siulapwa, who was a strong supporter of the then ruling party,Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) before last year’s elections, said at a press briefing in Lusaka today that his return was aimed at providing checks and balances to the ruling Patriotic Front (PF)government.

Mr. Siulapwa, who was very critical and sarcastic on President Michael Sata prior to the September 20 elections, went in a self-imposed exile in the United States of America just after voting in the general elections last year.

He has however denied reports that he went to the US to hide from the wrath of the PF government after it became apparent that President Sata and the PF would win the presidential and general elections in 2011.

Mr. Siulapwa, who left to country for USA on the same day of voting, explained that he went out to be with his family which is based in America.

He has since promised to stay in Zambia and continue providing checks and balances to government.

Mr. Siulapwa has meanwhile asked Zambians to give President Michael Sata and the Patriotic Front (PF) government enough time to address the challenges the country is facing.

He noted that Zambia is facing huge challenges of unemployment which currently stand at about 70 percent.

The NGP leader has therefore asked government to create employment especially for the youths who form the majority of Zambia’s 13 million people.

He however noted that it was too early to judge whether the PF government has failed to create employment or not, adding that it needs more time to address this issues.

He was nevertheless was quick to advise government to start putting measures that will fulfill the promises of the PF.

In another development, Mr. Siulapwa has described the advocates of the Barotseland secession as rebels who should not be entertained by all well-meaning Zambians.

He said Zambia has always existed as one unitary state and therefore, no One should be allowed to divide it.

Mr. Siulapwa has since advised government to maintain Zambia as a unitary state despite pressure from secessionists.

The opposition leader has also commended and welcomed President Sata’s stance on fighting corruption in the country.

He said corruption should not be condoned due to its bad effects on the economy of the country.

Mr. Siulapwa observed that corruption has been the main cause of extreme poverty in Africa.

Mr. Siulapwa said anyone who is perceived to have stolen public funds should be made to pay through the courts of law.

He has however advised the President to stop issuing sensitive statement on suspects of corruption in the media saying this might jeopardise the good fight.

He said the fight against corruption should not be used to settle political scores.

  1. This is political prostitution indeed. Anyway Siulapwa has never had principles and not even the slightest trace of leadership quality in him. Just wants to fill his belly.

  2. Siulapwa still got guts to challange the govt? Can someone please come and lead ngp. I dont see any sense in this underfive kid. He is not here for checks and balances in the pf govt, but swindle more money in our pockets. RB graved himself by entrusting these dirty boogers. This kid thought he would do well with the money he stole and now its gone, so he has resurfaced.
Siulapwa, we zambians are not sleepy heads ok

  3. RB’s trademark has always been to pander to mediocres and suppress genuine helpers so no surprises there about people like this particular one who fled their own shadows (add to that Chanda Chimba and the permanent resident son in RSA and you have a growing list). It is not easy to survive on self-imposed exile status in a foreign country unless you have a useful network (most Zambians have no useful networks outside the country…).

  4. The best Sulampwa you can do is to keep quite. We know you very well .You normally you make nose in exchange of money .so please the MMD which you we supporting is gone and you change to becoming a vuvuzela for PF. Forget they will not give you money.Just look for a farm and try farming.

  5. Give more time? I thought they had the magic pill as they built their strategies around their popular campaign promise of fixing things in 90 days?

  6. Mr. Siulapwa, who was very critical and sarcastic on President Michael Sata prior to the September 20 elections…Taulapwa this is what you said in one of your press briefings at Taj Pamodzi Hotel…I saw a hand of God in Kaunda, I saw a hand of God in the late Chiluba, I saw a hand of God in the late Mwanawasa, I can see a hand of God in Banda but I cannot see a hand of God in Sata…Sata cannot be a president…he will promote homosexuality etc,…Taulapwa Sata has forgiven you but US his followers we still demand your blood>:)x(>-)<):)8-x
Taulapwa listen to #s 2,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,15,16,17,18…you are not welcome Kabwa!!!

  7. There is a lot of sebana wikute in Zambian politics. Siulapwa today is back and can say this?? We have also seen so many people changing camps overnight to position themselves with the ruling party. Even none politicians. Is that the way life should be or we should be principled?

  8. Siulapwa chakolwa wa mu Lusaka hotel. How are you call people of western as rebels?

The Zambian government abrogated a legal document and those calling for its restoration are rebels?

Don’t dare the Lozi. You suck

  9. Siulapwa, You cant label us as secessionists. You dont have any right to talk of Barotseland? Do you hail from Barotseland? NO NO..we shall never be Zambians unless BA 64 is implemented. Siulapwa you are a piece of shit….a typical example of a Kolwe in a maize field. Barotseland is my history..We lived in harmony with other tribes but today PF is trying to destabilise us..PF my foot! You fools are indeed fly by nights! Siulapwa you can say that but i see a brighter day someday! Barotseland freedom is looming!!!!

  10. The comedian is back, at least I can have a good laugh ”the return of the self styed comedian” I missed his comedies

  11. this guy is a comedian.. i was laughing when i heard his press conference yesterday… anyway too many sad things going on in the country, your cynical press conferences will come in handy to lighten up the mood in the country.. infact you should go eulogise Bingu, they’l appreciate

  12. mwaice walipwa, meaning finished, just shut your mouth and stop making noise it is too early my friend.

  13. So, now that Sata is in power, this imbeci!e can now see the hand of God or is it just the hand that can feed his unprinciple prostituting arse?

Mr Imbeci!e Suilapwa, you will find that Zambians are not fools.

If I were you, I would first and foremost labour to reconcile your vitriolic hatred for Sata before September 2011 and your position now. That is the first and last item on your agenda. You basically have no future and even less credibility in the Zambian political arena. So take your muppet show to another audience because we do not see the joke

  14. Mr President, welcome back. With you around, we can now see some light into our future. Thank you for your timely advice to your colleague President Sata.

  15. Siulapwa is an intelligent young politician who understands seasons and good timing.
He knew that if he had come during the early days of PF victory when PF cadres’s batteries were fully charged and expectation from SATA were still very high, he would have been unsafe.
The young politician analysed and saw it fit to come back now when most PF cadres have their batteries discharged and are uncertain as to whether they did the right thing by voting for SATA.
Most of the PF cadres who have the capacity to think are almost in a COMMA and FAINTING out of SHOCK resulting from their dear leader’s U-turns on their expectations as promissed.
They are more ready now to go to Siulapwa to get comfort and consolation including counselling. Even Chanda Chimba will one day be remembered as a hero.

    • Fine, you are fine! I was actually one of them…now the previously irritating voice of Chanda Chimba III rings sure and true… Isnt life funny??????? We were ready to crucify KK in 1991

  16. SATA’s governance does not inspire me, but I know that he still inspires many kaponyas.
Siulapwa has good timing, a sign of intelligence. Many reasonable Kaponyas are disappointed with SATA. As time goes many will feel they would rather have Siulapwa than SATA.
Soon, many kaponyas will either have loughed too much from SATA’s commedy or will be tired and dissapointed with his U-turns, Blunders, and lying.

  17. Siulapwa is not normal.Very soon u hear him supporting the PF government and blasting everyone including the MMD the one he was praising.
