Republican president Michael Sata this morning led senior government officials paying their last respects to the late former republican vice president George Kunda at the Mulungushi conference center were his body lie-in-state.
President Sata was accompanied by, first lady Dr. Christine Kaseba, Vice president Guy Scott, Chief Justice Ernest Sakala, Judges, ministers, deputy ministers and other senior government officials.
Others in attendance were service chiefs and former government ministers and deputy ministers.
After viewing the body of the former vice president, the president proceeded to the widow Mrs. Irene Kunda to personally offer his condolences.
President Sata has declared three days of national mourning in honour of the late former republican Vice-President George Kunda who will be put to rest tomorrow at the Leopards hill memorial park.
My condolances to the family.
PF officials are still looking destitutes compared to MMD ministers who where getting rich within 2 months of appointment, and one could see development.
ichalo tachitalala ngamusunga, umuntu taba nechisuma batampe ukwiba ati plundurers mwaba shani kanshi?

The burdens of being father is even screwed up children are yours and still need to honour them.
It’s really sad to miss you GK – REST IN ENTERNAL PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Mr. President for showing statesmanship…You are a great leader.
Hope his deeds on earth will get him to heaven, otherwise …..
George I guess you had umple time to make things better with your maker since you suffered for long.
As for us remaining, death is a reality. No matter how much wealth we amass,I will remain behind.Let us learn to share.
Thank you HE MCS for leading the way. I hope UPND will do the same since there were in the same bed as MMD during the last election. Now RB is mourning from a far. I hope he will send his wife to come and mourn GK
Just wanted to make sure he is dead, otherwise he was a biggest obstacle to my government.RIP GK.
Please Please fellow Zambians let us behave like human beings. This is a sad moment and one family is devasted let us put aside the hate respetct the family of Mr. Kunda. We are one zambian family and we should learn to love one anther even if we have differences interms of tribe or political affiliation. Let us respect one anther for posterity sake.
Good point Street Kid, its childish to bring in politics at a moment like this, GK was VP for all Zambians and must be mourned in total tranquility. Â
Well said Street Kid. This is no time for politicking. However our differences, he was once our republican vice president. Lets give him the respect and dignity he deserves. MHRIP.
What’s there to thank him for? Why should he be thanked for doing what is a minimum expectation of every sane person?I thought when GK was still alive MC always referred to him as ‘Red lips’.
TELL RB TO COME FOR THE FUNERAL
Magnanimous gesture! Am just from Mulungushi to pay ma respects..dd for all of u who cant make it!
This man knows how to offer condolences! Rbeezy would have sent someone on his behalf. By the way, isn’t RBeezy supposed to be around, for a man who had been by his side?
HH boycotted.
At least kwenzelibe kuchita ‘sneak in’ monga kumalili ya Levy! Bravo MCS, RIP GK.
MHSRIP
MHSRIP Will find you soon
I’ll be shocked if RB doesn’t show up
Lets be realistic RB is in the US it would take some time for him to pitch up for the funeral as the logistics of connecting would not permit him. Unless of course you are thinking of him using a private jet.
This is the more reasons people should not hate each other, as later actions once one is dead are seen as for show. People should learn to be forgiving everytime they have a diffirence.
My condolences to the entire family. M.H.S.R.I.P.
why didn’t they evacuate him..?
Why?
Good to see Zambians come together at funerals. Proud Zambian!!
Iwe chi Pulamasaka we chi pool bar we. Evacuate him for what? The man had shiki for a long time. Let him go and rest you tool! MHSRIP. There comes a time when one has to die if they have AIDS!
They were waiting to see if he could get a bit better and then fly to india for special treatment. That is why they derayed. It is sad he has died coz at 56 still had a lot to offer to this country.public politics aside,he was a great stateman.Everyone with good information knows he contributed a lot.
#24@ Pulamasaka. Don’t start with that nonesense here again. Are you honestly asking that questiion with the expectation of getting an answer? Read the Chipungu article, otherwise at this point, a slap maybe what you deserve rather than an intelligent response.
I think Sata is a good president, I never saw RB going to Mulungushi to go and pay last respect kuli FTJ
Kaitlin thanks for the info. Would you rnemmoced doing one workout a week in the low drop shoe and the rest in the regular trainers then increase the frequency of use as weeks go by? I can’t speak for my training partners but I am very cautious because of a previous Achilles tendinitis injury I sustained a year ago. No issue so far but I don’t want to be grounded if this injury comes back.
May the Almight God confort the bereaved Family and MHSRIP
@12 Street Kid: you are right, this is a sad moment no parties and politics, BE HUMAN?? ICHILILO TABASEKA?? TOMORROW IT WILL BE YOU OR YOUR BELOVED FAMILY MEMBER. We are all Zambians. Despite being PF, I mourn with Kunda’s family, MMD and every Zambian for this loss. RIP GK.
Well done Mr. President, You have shown us that ICHILILO is above positions, you kneeled to Bana Kunda. That’s the way to go; Other Presidents would never do such. George rest in Peace bakuchindika abakalamba bobe ba President.
it all at the end of page1/top of page2 But simply putntig something different on your feet doesn’t make you a gliding Tarahumara. The one best way isn’t about footwear. It’s about form. Learn to run gently, and you can wear anything. Fail to do so, and no shoe — or lack of shoe — will make a difference. Once we develop motor patterns, they’re very difficult to unlearn, Larson explains. Especially if you’re not sure what it’s supposed to feel like. “
# 29 Check your facts….
#29 RB went to the lodge and not mulungushi show us the pictures if you dispute this?
Thank u mr president for showing all those jealous losers that u are indeed the leader and a child of GOD.HH has boycoated no wonder he is called under5.RIP mr GK.

ON FACEBOOK LUSAKA TIMES STATED THAT “PRESIDENT SATA VIEWS GEORGE KUNDA’S REMAINS”. AM GLAD THEY HAVE EDITED.
my question still stands..no matter how much you dull frustrated cadres insult the

That’s the way to go yr excellency. Its unfortunate that) is nt coming for the funeral as he has opted to lecture on issues wich won’t be examined, wat a shame
Taken from The Post
”There is nothing to fear in the PF, they were not ready to govern. He President Sata just woke up and went to Western Province to lie to innocent people. He lied to a wrong province that knew how to speak English before anyone in Zambia could speak English. He said he was going to give them the Barotseland Agreement and now he says ‘ni ma sobela’ it was a joke. He is a reckless President, he went to Western Province to promise the people stars,” Nevers Mumba(Dr).Now I understand why my English is that good!
don’t scatter roses after GK is gone,,you used to call him red lips..
Be humane man. But of course George Kunda had red lips. What’s wrong with calling GBM Kamadumbo because that’s what he is, Fat.
zambians lets behave lyk christians.most of u pipo who hated kunda never even hd n misunderstandin wth hm jst bcz he hd 1 wth govmt official thn u hv 2 folow blindly.open yo eyes,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Well said Street Kid. This is no time for politicking. However our differences, he was once our republican vice president. Lets give him the respect and dignity he deserves. MHSRIP. And thank you Mr President for being such a statesman and showing us all that you above political differences when it comes to national issues.Â
fATHER tELESPHORE mPUNDU NWAS RIGHT TO QUESTION THE LEGITIMACY OF DECLARING ZAMBIA AS A CHRISTIAN NATION.READING THROUGH THE COMMENTS ABOUT THE FUNERAL ONE WONDERS WERE THE DIFFERENCE IS WITH SODOM AND GOMORA.THE LABEL OF ‘CHRISTIAN NATION’ IS IN VAIN.
Umuchinshi walubemba bakateka nabalangisha, so bangwele just follow.) chewed with him but he is no where to be seen. one love!
How hypocritical! Now he is a nice guy! Because he is dead. Not long ago he was the dullest lawyer in Zambia. Â
#29, RB had more respect for GK than sata. atleast he respected him when he was alive and did not call him names like ukwa……
Mheshimiwa Bwana Kunda tunaomba hakuna matata pahali roho yako ilipo sasa.Tuombee sisi tuliyo hai wakati tutafika mbele ya Mungu atatupata kuwa wenye kufaa mbele yake.Omba tuwe na amani na upendo zambia ingawa tu watu wa makabila mengi tofauti.Lala salama.
Thank you MCS. In death we all unite and forget our worldly differences. Yes, hate him or like him George Kunda was a good and courageous lawyer and politician that Zambia or the MMD cannot replace. MHSRIP!
I usually surf Zambianwatchdog site just to check how stupid and shallow minded some minority people can be.
RIP Mr Kunda and thanks MCS for the comfort you offered to the widow.
deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolesences to the family.
It’s unfortunate that he died at the time when he was about to slap the Veep (Guy Scort) with a court process for masquerading to be in that position.  Allow me to quote his words, ” Guy Scort is a dummy Vice President because he cannot act in the absence of the president, he is occupying that office illegally. We shall consider slapping him with a court process.” RIP GK, I guess you would have given the PF government the much needed checks and balances as is necessary in any sensible democracy.
SATA DONTPRETEND YOU ARE HAPPY. YOU NEVER DIFER WITH A PERSON, THAT PERSON DIES. YOU ARE VERY BADWITH JUJU
.MAY GOD DEAL WITH YOU.
RIP GK
^:)^MHSRIP
Where is RB mwebantu havent heard any message of condolences from him.MHSRIEP
Pa Zed na pena palikaba mwe. The thinking of most bloggers is unintelligent. It is normal and very human to differ (and for that matter politically) with another person. You can call each other names. Because it is also true that the deceased called others names (as veep he could say Sata is a VERY MAD MAN). But if one such dies, we all feel the loss, a void, and we miss just the presence of the person. It’s a loss of “uwakutyolekana nakwe”. That is humanity! So to expect your political opposite number not to mourn is really being shallow minded.
Sata is a hypocrite, typical of shaddamffrey, acting as a saint, riding on the pity of the general public and yet amused his opposition is reduced. He did the same on Mwanawasa’s funeral and Chiluba. He claws back some decency from the public by acting solemnly at funearls but at the same time strategising for personal reputation. Zambians by now know who really Sata is a deceiver of all time.
@ 41 that is the way it is in life, even if you were enermies when you die your enermy can’t not say wat they used to coz dats is inhuman. have you ever seen some one speak bad about the dead apart from on line publications
