FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya has slammed reports that Chipolopolo coach Herve Renard has threatened to quit his job after being approached by Safa.

Renard was rumoured to have been approached to take over as the new Bafana Bafana coach.

Renard, who led Zambia to their first Africa Cup of Nations victory in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, is under contract until 2014, but media reports emanating from France indicate the Frenchman has threatened to walk away of the team.

“Don’t believe what the journalists are saying, these reports are laughable and untrue,” Bwalya tells KickOff.com from the team’s camp ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Ghana.

“Believe me, Renard is happy here and he has a contract until 2014. People must not believe everything that is reported.”

Meanwhile, Ghana won’t give us an easy ride on Saturday says Zambia coach Herve Renard.

Renard said at the end of Wednesday evening’s training session at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola that his side had no way out but to beat Ghana when they meet on June 9 in the two teams’ second game in the 2014 World Cup Group D qualifiers.

“We just have to win if we want to qualify but it is not going to be an easy game,” Renard said.

Zambia come into their home game at Levy Stadium against Group D leaders Ghana in third place on zero points.

The Black Stars have three points following a resounding 7-0 home win over bottom of the table Lesotho in Kumasi on June 1.

Sudan, who beat Zambia 2-0 on June 2 at home in Khartoum, are second tied on three points with Ghana but with a inferior goal difference.

Meanwhile, Renard said he was satisfied with the input from the players in training so far after three day in Ndola.

“I am satisfied with the teams’ performance they are doing well,” Renard said.

“I will select the team on Saturday.”

And the Black Stars of Ghana have arrived in Zambia for the Saturday’s 2014 World Cup Qualifier match against Africa Champions Zambia slated for Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Ghana arrived around 12:45 hours aboard a South Africa Airlink at Simon Mwana Kapwepwe Airport in Ndola.

The team was welcomed by a small crowd of Ghanaian residents in Ndola and FAZ officials.

In an interview upon arrival James Koffi Kwasi Appiah says his team is in the country with a mission to carry the day and maintain a clean record during the group D world Cup qualifier matches.

    • Good accession.. you know very well that it is the money that they him that matters most. Six months without receiving his salary in Zambia .. Can you imagine??? Why working there?? Becoming a laughing stock back in France :/

  1. Twalya again. House wife got K1b for branding Chipolopolo, I got K2b for being the ATM.

  2. These are interesting times to be alive and what a tangle web we weave in Zambian football!
This conduct is unbecoming of a country on whom the lofty status of African Champions has been ‘conferred’ and in fact demeans that eminent status! Winning the African cup was seemingly fluke.Such conduct must be condemned strongly for it is demeaning not only to Zambian football but Southern African football. As a matter of fact, qualifying to the World cup is sine qua non (essential) than winning that lousy African cup.If you were looking for sympathy, while, don’t look here because I’m not going to treat GRZ with kid gloves. This is all Sata’s fault…JJ (Just Joking)…Jokingly telling the truth!

  3. TO No.1 Zuma…
Don’t be stupid my dear uncle!
Money rules the world, without money you are a shadow of yourself. One wonders what you are doing in that powerful nation…while going by the flag.
”SA has got money but not enough talent”…Dumb chap!

  4. Black stars arrive 2 days before the game. Is this allowed? I thought legally they are supposed to jet in on the day of the match!
Why is galu not saying anything about the salary?

  5. 10-0 ghana – whether the players are paid or not, they need to represent the national colors. You don’t play for the national team for allowances, that’s what you get at club level. Players have to understand the country’s broke. Administartors have to be more innovative in the way they raise funds (be more aggressive). Until then, 10-0 ghana (half time score).

  6. Why is this being reported or why is he giving interviews in RSA magazine which is based in Cape Town, why doesn’t he face the Zambian media and answer to them, you are not the President of SAFA.
Wake up people we desire better than these arrogant clowns.

  7. Why is this being reported or why is he giving interviews in RSA magazine which is based in Cape Town, why doesn’t he face the Zambian media and answer to them, you are not the President of SAFA but of Football Association of ZAMBIA.
Wake up people we deserve better than these arrogant clowns.

  8. if he doesnt go his the most foolish man i have ever seen.
zambia has reached its goes. you cant take us any further. lets wish him well. when we win on saturday just let the whole counrty no that you are off. its will be good for you

  9. #12-13 Jay Jay
He is in exile (refugue camp) .. This is SA where the team camps even when the match is to be played in the hot northern hermisphere he does see any difference in temperature as long as he fill the pockets of his masters from the zambia tax payers monies. He must talk about the 6month salary of the coach NOT the coach’s future plan. That’s his (coach) own matter which he can make. How he can continue working without pay.. Shame to FAZ.. Contracting the coach on the salary you can not meet ???

  10. VIZAMBIA VO PWALALA.JUST GO HR TO SASASA.MO.MONEY IN YOUR TUMBA.CHIIIIIIIIIIIIPOLOPOLO IYE CHIPOLOPOLO

  11. With hopless bullies like kambwili sweeping mismangement in Faz under the carpet zambia africon win was indeed a one off fluke.

  12. Kanjimaano
Spot on there…to add on he is happy to speak to those RSA guys as they won’t ask him probing questions.
This fella is insulting our intelligence by his answers, all he has said in that article is that HR is merely under contract till 2014 WHICH he is.There are questions about logistics last Saturday to Sudan he hasn’t touched that issue…just look at the Black Stars they have jetted in 48 hours before the match. There are unconfirmed reports of his wife being awarded a marketing contract for this match but he is mute on this issue.
People should wake up and confront these corrupt thugs, you are paying top dollar to watch these matches in the stadium you deserve some respect and accountability.
Kalusha you should do better than just saying “believe me”.

  13. What do u expect from a grade seven drop out from mufulira….. zambians, the problrm is that u set yo hopes too high even when there is nothing. it will be a miracle for zambia to beat Ghana with such disorganisation at football house….

  14. I have always known this move would eventually come, but SA never learns – they’ve been through this “big bucks coach” business before but it didn’t yield any results. Money and talent are not the same. It’s like taking a very dull child to the most expensive school and expect distictions from them. Of course for Renard, just as would be the case for me or many others it is purely a business and logical decision to prefer a better salary from a client that has capacity to honour their part of the deal contractually.

  15. Some Zambians says South Africa does not have talent. But we were the first SADC country to win the AFCON and we qualified for the World Cup twice. Thats takes talent.

  16. Let him go to south so that they heavily conpasate us……besides its not him who plays but the players…south africa has the money but has no talent…is he not the same guys whose ass was kicked in angola not long ago?

  17. FAZ needs to improve/modernise the sale of tickets for the Mwanawasa stadium. The current ancient approach is robbing us of the right to sit where we want! Please address this.

  18. Let’s call back Bonetti!…..We can still get Renard when we qualify for the world cup…..ke ke ke ke.
Ghana will FALL! Come rain, come sunshine!

  19. All is Not well. Time HR ran away from us, it started the same way. He complained after the 2 – 0 loss to Sudan to kick start his exit from Zambia. His plans working according to his wish. Ze battle is lost Far Away from the pitch like what his advert says.

  20. It is always like that, when we lose only one game, just one game so many rumours start to pour in. Wait, the Vuvuzelas will blow once again on sunday. Then you will all be ashamed. You will hide. Just wait.

  21. KK 11
This is where you fail to understand, its not about winning or losing just a game its about the whole underlying economics in FAZ, no long term strategy, no accountability.
Even if we win (i hope we do) all these issues won’t suddenly disappear.

    Wake up!!

  22. Ba # 1, maybe you never stayed in Zambia for a long time. Zambia has talent in all sports discpilines and in soccer, maybe, the most out standing in Africa. The problem we have is that, everything in Zambia is politicised. I can assure you that, if all the players in the Ntional team, declared thier allegance to PF,they will be the best paid in Africa.
Meanwhile, GO ZAMBIA GO. THE MIGHTY CHIPOLOPOLO.
