Isaac Chansa Heads To China

Share

Isaac Chansa has left Orlando Pirates and joined Chinese club Henan Jianye.

Pirates reported on its official website that both parties agreed undisclosed terms for the midfielder this week.

“Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm the sale of midfielder Isaac Chansa to Chinese outfit Henan Jianye FC,” Pirates said in a statement posted on its official website.

“This deal comes shortly after both parties agreed terms on the transfer.

“Although the club would have liked to keep the African Cup of Nations winner at the team for the new season, the player had already expressed his intentions to move overseas for a fresh challenge and hence the club ceded to the players request.”

Chansa will join his Zambia captain Christopher Katongo who is entering his second season at Henan.

The midfielder has been at Pirates since resigning with them in 2010 after a brief stint at Helsingborg of Sweden.

Prior to joining Helsingborg Chansa was at Pirates.

Chansa had made no secret of his desire to leave Pirates in the last couple of months after falling out of favour since returning from the 2012 Africa Cup.

  1. Welcome to China Gatusso , we have always told you that china is a beacon of hope for many poor , impoverished, corrupt, countries like Zambia, the man cannot resist the move Period. Iam sure KATONGO is very happy to see Gatuso at ?????????

    • I thought he is move from South African club (Orlando Pirates) to a Chines club (Henan Jianye), so how does all this nonsense you spouting off about feature into the story?

“Opportunists-PHD-Kolokombwas” always amazes me. To them, every story is an opportunity to “sh1t” on their own country. Even when they clearly know they are out of context. God have mercy!!!!!

    • I just hate anyone who is negative about Zambia and speaks like they have no trace of brains in them. Our country is ours and we have to build its image not look down on our God given home.

    • Stop this idea of calling playerz by theze meaningless psuedo namez! Did you ever hear Maradona, Drogba, Ronaldo, Rooney, Thiery Henry, Messi and all being called anything else other than theit nice namez? Yet here you want to call somebody “sate sate”(whatever it means) and the like… Move away from this complex…

  2. great for Chansa. its like pirates became envious of Chansa’s achievements at AFCON. Ben McCathy even confessed that it was a bitter pill to swallow to see zambia humble Ivory coast.

  3. good for chansa. its like pirates became envious of chansa’s achievements at afcon and started putting him on the bench. ben McCarthy even confessed that it was a bitter pill to swallow to see zambia beat the team he wanted to lift the cup.

  4. Yaba! Sunday football should be for players who past their prime, Drogba, Anelka and Katongo. These footballers, maybe he is also in his 40s. Gudluck though, you had tournament at Afcon 2012.

  5. @3, mashindu:

I thought Chansa is moving from a South African club (Orlando Pirates) to a Chines club (Henan Jianye), so how does all this nonsense you spouting off about Zambia feature into this story? I have heard big-name English club soccer players leaving their clubs and heading to Chines clubs. Does that mean their countries are impoverished too?

“Opportunists-PHD-Kolokombwas” like you always amazes me. To people like you, every story is an opportunity to “sh1t” on your own country. Even when you clearly know you are completely out of context. God have mercy!!!!!

  6. If DOLOGUBA can go to China, there must be some thing going on there besides factories counterfeiting American goods.

  7. Good for Chansa, he is a good player too.
But I wish he had gone to join Chamanga who is more sober & friendly. With Katongo’s attitude, Chansa will not have anyone to cool him to avoid red-cards.

  8. Angry Anderlecht want ‘serious’ cash from Chelsea for Charles Musonda’s boys.

I don’t even see these boys ever playing for Zambia  especially that they are considered more Belgian than Zambian.

TO go to china and play football now is better than joining any club …… even Ribery is considering joining you ,,,, who are you,,,,… an amazing talented super star…all the best my young boy….

  12. :(( uncomfirmed reports say even Harry Milanzi, Paul Scholes, Duglas Chiwaya, Bubble Malitoli and Elijah Litana and Tana will soon sign for Ghozouye Shenonhuam FC who are lying at the bottom of the Chinese League. Puyol and Inzaghi including Gatuso are considering the same muv. This is partly because of the looming Euro Zone crisis which will see many European clubs cut down on player transfers as well as bonuses/earnings. Supersport is considering beaming most Chinese club games live but the problem is tym. Most of these games are played around 02 and 04hours which will make it so difficult for viewers. CNP news.

  13. Didi will be there too…China is offering the best in term of facilities, money hence most European players and Africans are heading there…….

  14. #21 Some good sense of humour. Could somebody pliz share information regarding the Chinese league, vis where Drogba iz going, where our Katongo and Chamanga are and so on.
