Fomer Zambian President Rupiah Bwezani Banda has called for peaceful co-existence among members of various political parties in Zambia if the country is to continue enjoying its unique tranquility.
President Banda was speaking at Lusaka’s New Leopards Hill cemetery today during the burial of Rabson Tembo who died in a road traffic accident last Thursday when the Nissan Hardbody he was driving overturned in Chipembi area of Nyimba district.
Mr Tembo was in President Banda’s advance party to Mfuwe when the accident occurred, killing him on the spot and injuring two passengers.
The former Head of State eulogised Mr Tembo as a forthright symbol of enduring loyalty and described his demise as a loss not only to his family but also to all who fraternised with him.
At the burial also attended by National Democratic Focus (NDF) President Ben Mwila and former Cabinet ministers Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane and Mr Maxwell Mwale, the former President said the presence of various political party representatives at the late Mr Tembo’s funeral was testimony of the unity that has continued to bind Zambia people together.
He said it was such unity that made him proud during the three years that he was Zambian President from 2008 to 2011.
President Banda paid tribute to former Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) Lusaka Province chairman Mr William Banda for hosting the late Mr Tembo’s funeral which was held in Bauleni township.
Thats like asking koswe to be in harmony nembalala.. If these politicians had a common goal which is to develop Zambia and the well being of all Zambia regardless of tribe there can be a peaceful co-existence but they are all after the money no wander the hatred
BRAVO RB.
we miss you Mr.President..tinazigon’ga..cry my beloved country..
RB please don’t talk about william in public thats one mess we want to forget
hahahahah…..spot on
RB, your words are words of wisdom and love. The level of hatred and terror we are witnessing since the PF came to power is frightening. Threats, intimidation and victimization of innocent people under the guise of fighting corruption are the order of the day. Those who do not belong to the ‘right tribe and party’ are being mocked and deliberate attempts are being hatched to destroy the opposition and create a one party dictatorship. Where is the love and democracy?
Look at who is talking Mr. Big Head himself, this vindictive vile corrupt chap was falling out with tribal leaders and anybody who  disagreed with his corrupt practices, you are just talking nansense.
Maxwell, stop being so bitter. Tbe question is whether what President Banda has said is right or wrong and not who has said it. Name calling is for small minds. I challenge you to state whether President Banda’s words are correct or not. The size of his head has nothing to do with winning an argument unless it is being conducted in a kindergarden.
Basiyeni bakambeko nabeve ba mudala. This time he can advise, unlike when he was in power. The man never took advice. Politicians and their politricks!
…as i call for PF cadres to intensify attacks on the opposition. what a contrast.
Let the old man advise..he’s experienced in unity.
RB was immune to advise as president and he led a very violent MMD under the guidance of Osama Bin Laden A.K.A. william banda. People were killed during his reign, his cabinet ministers and party members stole with impunity, the public media was basically his own to use as so fit. But much as I disagree with this mpuno nkulu former president tenfold in almost everything, I cannot deny the words of wisdom he uttered here. Lets give him credit were it’s due however we disagree with him. As the bible say, lets”follow what he is preaching here, and not what he practiced as president.” These are very wise words indeed.
This is exactly the kind of information I was digging for.~~~the blogger offered many helpful information~~~hope see your new works~~
