President Sata re-aligns the newly created Sibuyunji District from Central Province to Lusaka Province.

PRESIDENT Michael Sata has re-aligned the newly created Sibuyunji District from Central Province to Lusaka Province.

The Head of State, who has informed the provincial ministers responsible, said the move to re-align the new district was to improve service delivery and public administration.

This is according to a statement released in Lusaka yesterday by Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations George Chellah.

“The re-alignment is part of our Government’s robust programme to give practical expression to the decentralisation programme and eventual devolution of power to districts.

“The decentralisation policy will show results once practical steps are taken to correctly position both geographical and administrative systems,” Mr Sata said.

  1. So, when he created this district a few days ago, he thought it was better in Central Province? Now its better in Lusaka Province? Tomorrow it will be in Southern Province…..CNP for real

  2. I think these endless so called re-alignments are not only costly but have become a joke. The next thing you will hear is that he wants to change the name of the country. This is very sad that a man forgets what he was elected for and all he does is these stupid appointments and district re-alignments that seem to have no end. This presidency will forever be remembered as the most completely useless!

  3. It shows that OUR president is really a thinker and he is indeed thinking hard and smart so that Zambia one day can be a better country. We shall appreciate presido Sata once things start working properly. I am sure we heading somewhere positive

  4. Tongas are annoyed because their own so called under5, Habakamuvotela Huimwine is no where this great man, Sata.

  5. One would wonder about the process upon which decisions to align districts is based on. Is there a govt ministry involved in this?

  6. I tend to wonder what is happening in this country, this man keeps re alighning and creating districts when he has not developed older districts like chongwe for instance. Why create Rufunsa district before you develop chongwe, people there have no office space to talk about.Where are you going to find resources to develop the newwly created ditsrcts as awell as the old ones.Is that the way we are going to have jobs for the youths and are they going to be permanent?…………??????????

  7. I like the re alignments in zambia, it is a good thing to have a president who looks foward development than the status qual , lets support this man we know how much he can do

  8. All these creations of districts are supposed to be done by Parliament and not a deranged old man doing it for political reasons. There is no economic basis for creating/realigning districts apart from suiting the PF political objectives. A totally wasteful process which parliament must rectify

  9. @No.13 – Prophet Dan Pule

What has this topic got to do with Tongas? Why do you always have to be tribal? Is it because you are foreigners to the land you occupy in Zambia? Yes, you all migrated in to Zambia and are so insecure.

  10. All you people condenming this noble cause do not see beyond your noses. Kee your cool until the master planner finishes what is on his drawing board. Viva MCS

  11. #1, its you who is rubbish for not understanding simple thing such as what pf is doing. Do you really live in the UK as your flag shows. I am asking because you should be in a better position to understand this- as this is what obtains here.

    • Dear Peter#24, please give examples in UK where realignments of places is taking place in a similar manner.

  12. Creating a district is not a mere pronouncement. It goes further to create structures that befit a district status. For instance, there has to be a District Commissioner with all his benefits and the like. That is only the civil service machinery. What about the political structure i.t.o District Political Secretary. You also do not just create a district in the bush, some basic infrastructure is required. What benefits are we looking at when Shibuyunji is just a stones through west of Lusaka where Winter Kabimba comes from and has a ranch there?

  13. This is rubbish and unnecessary costs just because wynter Kabimba comes from sibuyunji area near Mumbwa now all of Zambians must suffer this is total rubbish

  14. Dear Peter#24, please give examples in UK where realignments of places is taking place in a similar manner..

  15. Great Sata. No one among the opposition would ever ever thought of creating districts and a province. Never. Just look at their resistance! They will just have maintained the status quo of what they would have found. Sata’s thinking is robus and he often thinks out of the box. Viva you. Some simple minds that are opposed to your thoughts and deeds will fail to fit in your shoes once you are going. Just lead them. They are like children crying, kicking, punching, urinating, defecating  and closing their mouths when being fed porridge. But look at that baby once it has eaten its fill, aaaa,,hehehehe, mamama, papapa, tatatata, ooh baby!

  16. i can see zambia prosper with this brave and visionary leader. once the imfrastructure development start next year , there will be a construction boom ……….more jobs. VIVA MCS

  17. Some of you dont even know where this district is located. It is somewhere near Nampundwe, a few kilometres from Lusaka. The move means that These guys will NO LONGER go to Kabwe, via Lusaka for their administrative issues. I call on the president to create a province, Kafue, to include Mumbwa, Kaoma and Itezi-tezhi.

  18. Don’t critisize anyhow, some of you dont even know where this district is located. It is somewhere near Nampundwe, a few kilometres from Lusaka.
