Hospitalized First Republican President Kenneth Kaunda has continued making steady progress, his son, Colonel Panji Kaunda has revealed.

In an interview today, Colonel Kaunda said the founding President could be out of hospital in two days time if he continues regaining the strength.

“The Doctors are impressed with his progress since he came in the other day. They feel he could be discharged in two days if he regains enough strength,” Colonel Kaunda said.

Colonel Kaunda who is Deputy Minister of Transport, Works and Supply in the PF government urged Zambians to continue praying for Dr. Kaunda.

“We are grateful for all the prayers and encouragement we continue receiving, God is in control and all shall be well.”

“I would just like to appeal to people wishing to see the old man at the hospital not to come because Doctors really want him to rest,” he said.

Colonel Kaunda also stated that any latest developments regarding the burial programme would be communicated through normal government channels.

“As a family we just want the old man to rest, the burial and everything will be handled by government, am sure they will communicate.’

Dr. Kaunda was taken ill Friday evening after he complained of exhaustion following the death of his wife of 66 years, Mama Betty.

The funeral service for Mama Betty was yesterday cancelled and later postponed after Acting Secretary to the Cabinet Rolland Msiska announced to mourners gathered at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross that Dr. Kaunda had been hospitalized.

  1. U r the one who sounds bitter or dull – for buying this PF line!!! Bitter for what. If I was HH, I’d be glad that I made the decision to opt out of the pact!!

  2. …thought he would be flown to Zimbabwe too for treatment where he would have come back in a “Crazy Casket” like his departed dear madam? Would have looked ‘spot-on’ dressed in his famous Safari Suit amid; finger strapped white hand-ker-chief…

  3. Is the word ”bitter” a new word to most bloggers because that’ s the only word many of them would like to use when refering to HH. It sounds to me that many don’ t clearly understand it’ s context. What do you think ? you attack a person who hasn’ t wronged you in any way and you call the very person being attacked being bitter, what kind of fools do we have in Zambia and what is the total number ? kwena ubupuba nga bwalemoneka ukupitila mukwata icilonda, ndesubila abengi nga balishininkisha abene ukutila fipuba pantu napakukanina nga tapaba.

  4. Nkope shinyega you are a son of a bitch. You must have been born when your mother was too drunk. May you go to hell.

  5. Get well soon our hero Super Ken. HH will never be head of state on this earth. He must be counselled on anger management and hatred kapuli
