The Deputy Minister was responding to a question by MMD Chembe MP Mwansa Mbulakulima who wanted to know whether any journalists at Times of Zambia and Zambia Daily Mail were dismissed following the 20th September, 2011 general elections and what the reasons for their dismissals were.
He further explained that ToZ had in excess of 270 employees but it has since down-sized by 23 workers and currently the workforce stands at 247 because the firm wants optimum performance.
Mr. Kapeya, reiterated the Patriotic Front Government’s commitment to job creation as outlined in its party manifesto.

Zambia our country
“were separated from their employer, some were retired, some had their contracts terminated while some opted to go on voluntary separation” – in other words, FIRED!
Seperated from their employer? Efinshi ifyo?
What nonsense is this.Kapeya you well know why we were fired didn’t the guys at State house brief you? You fired some of the best guys in the organization.
This is the worst government I have ever come across. The way they talk makes me feel they have no respect for the citizens. We all know what happened at the media institutions. If you say separated, what do you mean? Isn’t it dismisal? Please don’t twist words and think that we do not know what they mean. It shows how shallow minded these PF ministers are. They are so full of themselves and think that they can say anything and get away with it. You are all being watched and you will be judged by your deeds. Just wait for that time. You will wish you were not a minister.
Seperation or termination of contract is a euphemism for FIRED!
