President Michael Sata, President has retired Ministry of Transport, Works, Supply and Communications Permanent Secretary Major. Francis Kamanga.

This is according to a press release made available to the media by State House.

The President thanked Maj. Kamanga for the services he rendered to the nation during his tenure of office.

read the excerpt from President Sata’s letter to Maj. Kamanga dated October 1, 2012.

Maj. Kamanga was appointed by President Michael Sata last year in November. During the swearing in ceremony Mr Sata told Maj Kamanga to put an end to the corruption at the road development agency.

He told Maj Kamanga to go country wide to monitor road construction projects and not leave to RDA.

    • Sure ba LT, tabazinkimana if. You get carried away by a story now President Sata is a Major? Hahahahahahahah. Tell your editors to start reading the writeups being produced by your journalists. Kekekekekeke Sata a major ninshi te amagerdonne iyo.

  1. LT why is this news?

A PS is a secretary, who is NOT permanent and has a job descritpion of less than 5 years as per this sacking!!

    Thanks

  2. This is the only achienement so far for the pf governemnt, hiring & firing! Until HH will catch up with these CNPs.

    • Unlike the tribalists, @South Africa, we are all with the cobra because he will sack anyone be it his cousin, brother, friend or son if they are not performing. Ati wajata ngombe “tulii baa tonga” my foot. At least he’s rectifying his mistakes. No tribe is sacred to Micheal Sata when it comes to performance.

  3. Ba President is really installing fear in the civil servants. I will not be surprised if Bernard Chiwala the acting RDA CEO is not fired as well very soon.

At this rate, some of us who are professionals will be skeptical to accept jobs from ba Mudala, for the fear of being embarassed. One wonders why he is quick to fire Kamanga but keeps on transferring Inutu Suba when everyone knows that she has been rejected. Maybe matters of the heart are difficult to deal with.

I hope Rowland Msiska will have the guts to tell ba President to leave the supervision of Permanent Secretaries to the Secretary to the Cabinet and not Ministers who are suspect themselves. PF should work on performance contracts for PSs and give them time and leeway to perform. These hiring and firings are costly.

  4. It is easier to fire top civil servants from provinces other than Luapula, Muchinga and Northern. This trend has been very conspicuous. MAY GOD HEAR OUR PRAYERS

    • Uli wabufi. The permanent secretary for luapula has changed hands twice. This tribalism bull crap will not take us anywhere. By the way, the Ushi, lundas, bisas of luapula are not bembas. Amano ya chikolwe lyonse. Lets move beyond this kabechi.

    • Very childish indeed. He say people from Luapula are bembas though they speak almost same language. Bembas are only in Kasama, Luwingu and Mpolokoso you dull creactures. Always see tribe…shaaaa.

  5. so ba,major sata, thats why this presido acts like he is running military base,HIRING AND FIRING,you cant create an effective working TEAM like that, give pipo time to settle and also have confidence in them.so the pf will be campaign for 2 term,so why should we vote for u becoz ,the notion of MORE MONEY IN OUR POCKETS will not be realised to many zambians.so plse mr H &F,check yourself first.

  6. Sata, if the man is corrupt, you become the court room, judge and the law yourself. Is firing people fighting corruption? Is it true that he was corrupt? How about the minister to whom they report? How about you as CEO of every ministry? How will he clear his name since you have labled him as corrupt? CNP hoye CNP, CNP shamuna bane SHeemu

  7. #13, JUST BE CLEAN AND HARD WORKING. WHY SHOULD YOU BE SKEPTICAL IF YOU HAVE QUALITIES OF THE ABOVE? YOUR FRIEND HAS BEEN RETIRED IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST. MEANING, IT WOULDN’T HAVE BEEN FOR THE PUBLIC INTEREST TO RETAIN HIM. MAYBE HE CARRIED FORWARD HIS LONG HANDS INTO PF GOVERNMENT. WHO KNOWS? THE WORD IS, “IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST”.

  8. A northner taking over. Where is Mangani by the way . After denouncin his own brother RB mangani has no job up to now even after all the lobbyin

  9. I agree with Kampataz @ 13. Its time we had performance contracts for everyone in government including the PS. this issue of hiring and then firing in natural interest is a drain on government resources. What happens is when a contract is terminated in national interest, the contract is deemed to have been performed & the guy so fired gets his full benefits. Now if we had performance contracts they would stipulate minimum performance standards below which some may be just be given one month’s pay. this will ensure that people perform. Other countries in the region have these systems & are performing well. In fact even funding is dependent on performance as ministry or a council. In Zambia the budget is guess work with depts in the Ministry of Finance getting more than some ministries

  10. How vague is that “Public Interest”, if there was fowl play please refer matters to ACC; you have to be accountable and transparent. By the way when are you going to host a Press conference at State House date today is 1st October 2012..you were more than happy to take up Q&As in New York from US businessmen but you seem to be shying away from the people who put you in State House.

    • You puting Sata in state house?? kekekeke. Just shut up man. The president was right not to talk to you guys out there who add useless contribution to Zambia. Always insulting him and you wanted him to listen to your insults?? No man.

  11. This will go down in history as the most successful or the most useless government, it can only be one or the other and nothing in the middle.

  12. POLITICAL F.O.O.L.S (PF) hiring and firing it has never worked anywhere in the world. political experiments after year in office. 2016 is around the corner. we will remove you the way we appointed you. we need serious minds to run the affairs of our nation

  13. Bo Kampataz @13, your English does not say much about your “professionalism”, when you write sentences like “installing fear”, in civil serveants, and “I will NOT be surprised if Bernard Chiwala the acting RDA CEO is NOT fired as well very soon”. Double negative is a positive, boss. “…some of us who are professionals will be skeptical to accept jobs from ba Mudala, for THE fear of being embarassed:… which profession is this that they taught you such bad English?

    • Let me defend #13 on his poor English. It’s the result of the poor education that has been going on in Zambian institutions of learning for decades. When you read carefully across the Zambian media board, you’re going to find that people are writing fourth grade English. It’s really disappointing.

  14. By the way, Luapula has Unga, Bisa, Chishinga, Kabende, Ng’umbo, Batwa, Tabwa, Shila, Ushi, Lunda and Bemba whose language is essentially Bemba. In Northern you get the Bisa, Bemba, Mambwe, Lungu, Namwanga, Tabwa and Shila. Muchinga has Tumbuka, Bisa, Namwanga, Bemba. Add to this many other groups from other provinces. Check the obvious overlaps. One Z, One Nation!

  15. Good move Mr president, teach the thieves lessons. They grow rich through corruption and after stealing from poor Zambians they start boasting that they are rich. Hire and fire who does not perform, by doing so only those who want to be true servants of Zambians will serve. Great move and I am liking it. No more corruption guys, Sata means business.

  16. MMD left a lot of civil servants with brain damages. Being new does not shield you from being fired if you are found wanting. Like the new PS in central province, we are watching her. So far we are not impressed with her poor accountability of government resources. if she does not change, we are going to fire her too. Government resources are for Zambians and as such, under PF, there is no sacred cow. Viva my President MC Sata.

  17. Good move if they don’t perform then they don’t deserve to hold those posts because these will be the same people that will make the President look like he is not performing

  18. Good move Mr President. I saw it coming this man just grew big headed from nowhere, he even drunk with Road Contractors and Consultants in public without shame. Well done my President. VIVA PF

  19. The next on the line is the Permsec at Energy Ministry he has failed to make a decision on corruption involving people in the parastatal in ndola. I has been oiled big time including ACC.

  20. Good ridance, he failed to control the mess which has come to Zampost where the company is now being mismanaged. The Zampost CEO is full of himself and extremely childish. The guy is busy employing cadres and their children, some who are even beyond retirement age. He is busy renovating the Hq which is in a rented building at the expense of growing the business. Most people have been employed without being interviewed and Zampost is currently struggling to pay monthly salaries. He is so proud and has made it very difficult for workers to see him whenever there is a problem. He has weakened the union by giving them favours. Can the ACC come in and verify these issues. Shame on PF and its cadres.

  21. What are required qualifications for this job (Ministry of Transport, Works, Supply and Communications Permanent Secretary) would like to forward my CV kaili it vacant apaso

  22. This rubbish of retiring people in the public should stop hence forth. We cannot afford to have such very sensitive positions changing hands every two months.

  23. This firing of the same people you rightfully appointed in your sober state of mind leaves me to wonder whether the same individuals were appointed on merit. This comedy of trial and error is costly as there are unnecessary stoppages in the workflow. its just like a man going to find a wife once that wife is HOME you chase her that shes not RESPECTFUL, whose to blame obviously you as a man for not PAYING ATTENTION during the courtship. in the end the one to BLAME for all this is our DARLING SATA THE HR MANAGER.

  24. i can not expect mr sata to hire based on merit as he himself is not qualified to hold the realms of that office, full stop..he himself should retire due to medical reasons.

  25. Ba number 47, if you think Mr Presido is not qualified to hold that office why don’t you get down to Zambia, become an opposition, win the trust of Zambians and get elected; sounds simple to you right? Give the guy some respect, some of you could not gunner even your partners and even that of your children.

  26. # 50, Engineer (process) you are very uselss, this time and age of technology, you are able to follow the live happening thru out the world…very dull chap…go back to school ideot..!!!

    • What ever you call yourself, as a man you have to look at facts and figures you cant react to some text or email some incompetent adviser sent you.. His actions just show dictator ship

  27. BEENKELE HANENE chaps like you are difficult to educate without insults..Such kind of dullness requires a license otherwise its very illegal

  28. what is good LUCKY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PARTY time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! good HEALTHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! finshi efyo kanshi.

  29. Public Interest means he is fired for wrong doing and should not get his benefits. DEC, Police, ACC are free to make follow ups. National Interest means he is compromised to perform effectively and is retired with full benefits. Hope you now know the difference. Unless you know the details do not just condemn the president. Remember he has eyes and ears everywhere through OP and many other concerned citizens

  30. The first time i met this man and his family, they where acting like they were the Presidents of the World. All they spoke about was the material things that they have or are gonna be given by the Governent. i must say i was disgusted. I seriously saw this come. Major Kamanga was stealing from the government,he is stupid to think he would get away with it. I am very anti PF bt this was a good move Mr. President. He should go bury his head in shame and move out of the lavish Kabulonga (govt) house you just moved in to…Booyah!!!!!
