PRESIDENT Michael Sata has arrived in Japan’s capital city Tokyo on his working visit to that country.

He arrived on Tuesday at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport. President was accompanied by his wife Christine Kaseba and his special assistant for press and public relations George Chellah.

He was received at New Otani Hotel by Agriculture and Livestock Minister Emmanuel Chenda, Tourism and Arts Minister Sylvia Masebo, Foreign Affairs Minister Given Lubinda as well as officials from the Japanese Government and the Zambian embassy in Japan.

The Japanese police motorcade led President Sata’s entourage from the airport to New Otani Hotel where a red carpet was put for him.

While in Tokyo, President Sata would meet Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda for bilateral talks.

He is also expected to, among others, meet representatives of the ruling Democratic Party and opposition Liberal Democratic Party to share ideas on democracy.

Mr Sata would further meet Hitachi, Toyota and Japan International Corporation Agency (JICA) chief executives respectively as well as meet the Emperor and Empress of Japan.

The Emperor of Japan is the symbolic of the state and of the unity of the people according to the 1947 constitution of that country, which dissolved the Empire of Japan when it was adopted by the Postwar Japanese Government.

He is a ceremonial figurehead under a form of constitutional monarchy and is head of the Japanese Imperial Family with functions as Head of State.

The Emperor is also the highest authority of the Shinto religion as he and his family are said to be direct descendants of Amaterasu.

According to the programme outline released in Tokyo yesterday, Zambia and Japan are expected to hold a signing ceremony on the construction of a permanent bridge at Kazungula border.

Currently, pontoons are used to ferry people and goods across Zambezi River at Kazungula border.

Mr Sata would conclude his working visit in Japan’s Hokkaido area on Monday next week after which he would proceed to South Korea.

Hokkaido is the northernmost of Japan’s four main islands and it continues to represent the untamed wilderness with many great national parks.

The area is by far Japan’s largest prefecture, consisting of Japan’s entire northern island and its surrounding islets.

  1. How much is this globetrotting and photo op costing the poor and hungry zambian taxpayer? So much for the hot air lecturing RB about his trips yet that same preacher is now in it hook, line & sinker.

  2. I guess RB should be kicking himself for losing elections. The man enjoyed good flying and now he has to watch Sata enjoy good melile !! This chap always critised his trips. It like some one taling bad about your wife and in the end going out wiht her.

What an expense to tax payers !

    • Mbuzi don’t testify about your wife like that on public media. So who is the other guy who said bad things about your wife and end up going out with her? Sad mwandi…I feel for you.

  3. I think so far Sata’s trips have been high profile and worth it for the nation except for the one he went to India although that one he was also said to be meeting with potential investors. In this case taxpayers money is not an issue his working for the nation! Japan is one of Zambia’s biggest bilateral partners and Japanese are some of the most honest people/investors to have. CEO’s are always ready to meet the “top gun” who can assure them and entice them to invest in Zambia. Late Levy P Mwanawasa said “Zambia’s have short memories” you can’t compare Sata’s trips to RB…RB would go for low profile events that should be attended by Veep/Ministers or just go for a wedding in Swaziland to witness Mswati marry for the 14th time…considering they both like tubana!!

  4. That is a blown out entourage at tax payers expense (per dieum, transport and other hidden allowances) . The Minister of Foreign Affairs could have ably articulated government policy on agriculture, tourism, etc. And they are away for 10 days????

    • Imwe na imwe ni ma jeloua ayo. Just work hard in your job or join politics. Remeber there are a lot have nots who admire you whatever you do. But your envy is clear for all to see.

  5. Which one in the photo is Sylvia Masebo’s retarded son? Maybe the one with a stupid smile. Koma zoona this is nepotism at its worst. Wa yenda ku faka mwana chipuba as assistant ambassador to Japan.

    • lol…. ichisushi is the only african word my daughter knows. I told her the meaning when i first eat sushi in Israel 10 yrs ago!!

  6. Just look at the diplomatic lowlings that were sent to receive him by the Japanese, they were not even identified! The other thing I honestly wonder about the Zambian way of reporting, why do they wrote things like this: “The Japanese police motorcade led President Sata’s entourage from the airport to New Otani Hotel where a red carpet was put for him”? Who honestly gives a damn whether Zondwe CNP legged it hard from Narita Airport to Otani Hotel or he was driven in a wheelbarrow or baboon drawn cart, nobody except his fellow Northern Janjaweed mujahideen.

    • @ iNkhosi Mizilikazi DiniZulu, you have killed me wandepula iwe… ke ke ke….Bloggers mulasansamusha mwe…
      Ndambakofye ine

    • It means that Zambians live for appearance sakes. Its keeping up with the crazy Zambians, even when you don’t have susu, you still want to show off, like you have. It has even extended to journalism, honestly, its so unprofessional and time wasting, uyu kalemba would be fired in my company for wasting space and time.:o

  7. LETS PUT PRAISE WHERE IT DESERVES.

I HAVE ALOT OF RESPECT FOR OUR JAPANESE COLLEAGUES,

THEY ARE DISCIPLINED, HARD WORKING AND HAVE A VERY CLEAN ENVIRONMENT.

ARE THERE NOT MANY LESSONS WE CAN LEARN FROM THESE GREAT PEOPLES? YES

  8. motorcades for presidents in the land of the east? you are playing with the nippon jins imwe mwebantu. ask us who are eating sushi with them if they care about politics. not even a headline that sata is in tokyo.

  9. iye ba Dr.!!! This woman is easily ushered by what people say. Look at the way she is dressed now, her hair style. she has changed because pipo called her names last time her husband received fake medals. Learn to stick to what makes u feel confortable. She looks so pathetic!!

  10. yes come and see how the japanese are proud of their country, everything is organized here!!! People know what is respect!! Women can wear what they choose to without being undressed in public, thats what civilized people do!!!
I would be ashamed if i were a president of a filthy poverty stricken country visiting a clean country like Japan. No power cuts at the airports, no water shortages and blocked toilets at the international airports.. no filth, respectful people all over the country..

Noti kuchimuzi ku Zed, ifiko fyambilafye pa airport ifimbusu ifya-fwasafwasa..ichipuki, ulukungu, bakaponya., salaula, Yaba mwinleka mponte!

Im sure baledabwa fye kuno kwa ba na matoilet ya automatic, tandaleni bwino bane muka yee bafundako ubusáka abashele, bakalekeko nobufontini

  11. I hope the delegation is capable of learning one or two things from the multitude of good things Japan does so well. The important thing is that even if you can’t learn at least copy and implement something back home.

  12. @ #18, Bemba san, anata wa kimochi warui desu nee. nande zambia wa toile kibishi deshouka? probably where you come from zed things are bad but even when am in the nihon i am a proud zedian.

    • things are bad all over Zambia, jus because some of you are goverment thieves does’nt mean that all Zambian have trunks of stolen money buried in the ground. over 90% of our country men are suffering living under a dollar a day, and you say that things aint bad? Thats typical kabolala mentality you steal and think the people you steal from will get help from thin air. If things were as good as you say why so much nkongole all over the place, shame on you kaponya!!

  13. @ # 18, ati automatic toilets.. have you really visited plush homes in Zambia? go to ibex hill at ask for late Dean Mungombas young brothers house or mr mkandawire able who is neighbour to mr mungomba? did you visit hichilemas house or late ftjs house. when i went to state house, i found technology obtaining in developed countries already b pa state house so bwana, dont be excited ati muli ku japan. even here we have homeless people if you dont know. paupers that dont have even a cistern for a toilet and depend on stinking public toilets dotted all over japans parks

    • and who the heck is Mungombas Ichilemba? I dont know them, why should i visit total strangers and for what? Whats important is that every Zambian citizen should have a decent flushing toilet not those pit latrines you go back to after visiting other people homes.
and FYI i dont go to public toilets in JP i’ll leave that to you and the stinking paupers, too bad you are not fortunate enough to see my posh life. Im off to Singapore next week for the weekend all paid for, will stay at the Grand Hyatt you can come polish my shoes if you like, small side job for you..

    • whatever technology you saw pa state house mune, was paid for by the Tax paying Zambian people who are still suffering…. people who dont even have access to a decent toilet! They have to sh!t in plastic bags! I D I O T A

  14. Lol not even a Japanese Minister came to meet our president. This tells volume of what the Japanese people think about us.

  15. Kamwendo munjila, mobile president, john walker, etc, were some of the many names Sata used to call RB for doing what Sata is doing right now. Shame on you. We won’t be fooled again, come 2016.

  16. UPND will die of jealous.Concentrate on campaigning, where you are not popular, otherwise, you will be behind always like buttocks.

  17. My nephew HH tribalist under5 will get choked and die from envying Michael Sata. Very soon MCS will appoint me as one of his political advisors. Grow up young man, HH..!!!

  18. At-least this is my own presido. I voted for him in 2011 and again i shall vote for him in 2016. Thereafter, i will look for Nevers Mumba or Elias Chipimo Jnr. Not vima tribalists like Hakaivotela Huimwime immature under5 tribalist political leader.
