A Belgian national accused of practising homosexuality has pleaded not guilty to the charge of sodomy.

Appearing today before Principal Resident Magistrate Davies Mumba was Pascal Courouble aged 49 and Resident Manager of Stanley Lodge in Livingstone who stood accused of committing sodomy on Coillard Zyangwa contrary to section 155 of the penal code of the laws of Zambia.

Mr Courouble who is represented by his lawyer, Davies Nkausu is alleged to have committed the offence between March 2011 and 21 January 2012.

Meanwhile, Mr Nkausu has applied for bail arguing that although Courouble was not a Zambian he had an established residence and employment.

Mr. Nkausu further defended the application for bail saying the accused had been cooperative from the time the matter was reported to police

“My client has been very corporative with police from the time the matter was reported and he is able to raise sureties who are resident in Livingstone,” pleaded Mr. Nkausu.

Magistrate Mumba has since reserved ruling on bail application for tomorrow and remanded Mr Courouble in custody.

  1. Very impressive by Davies Nkausu, this what we should expect from football players, defending ball and defending homos.

  2. Why do we keep pretending these Bazungu in these weird lodges are not homo. These story keep poping up in Livingstone and just end without any conclusion. The residents of Livingston know what goes but do nothing.

    • @ # 4 Nubian Princess it doesn’t matter. Homosexuality is a crime under Zambian laws whether consensual or not. Let the courts do a speedy trial so that the bastard can be sent to prison where he will enjoy it day and night!

  3. Cage the bastard in Chimbokaila  where the prisoners will feast on him since he seems to like to take if from behind. Once he contracts HIV, dispatch him back to Belgium. He will serve as an example to others.

  4. Too much intolerance in Zambia. Most of you Zambians and Africans support Obama who supports homosexuality. If the two consented to sex, it’s fine. Every man must have a right to sin as long as it does not cause bodily harm or financial deprivation to society as a whole.

  5. Zambians are a very fork-minded lot. They claim to be christians but most of them, starting from Sata, Kabimba & GBM, are the most violaters of the commandment: “You shall not commit adultery”. The Bible very clearly takes a stand against some things…adultery, lying, theft, murder & the like. In order to come up with anything more, one must rely on either an “interpretation” or one of the “old laws”…many of which we have absolutely no problem in ignoring.

The Bible is clearly against adultery & has specific passages where people are punished harshly for their crimes. These crimes aren’t elucidated as sodomy.

  6. This has nothing to do with Christianity. Even before the white man came to our land and brought his religion along, homosexuality has been taboo. You people claiming to be tolerant imagine if it were your brother, son or relative to whom this was done would you talking in the same tone? Just because people are stealing, committing adultery or fornicating does not justify the practice of homosexuality. Two wrongs do not make a right.

    • You do know that Zambia has homosexuals right? The prisoners not withstanding, there are Zambians that are homosexual or bi but because theres intolerance they live in the shadows. We also have *****s masquerading as wise men elected to Gov. office, high rates of corruption, higher rates of promiscuity. The list is endless. For those trumpeting the whole” Zambia is a Christian nation” here’s the reality of that; it’s not.We have christians but we definitely aren’t.We just aspire to be more Christ-like. Perhaps it’s just a figure of speech but get over it, Zambia is just one of the worlds many sinful states, no human is infallible regardless of what how they interpret religious script. [-(

    • rubbish, homosexuality has alway existed in Zambia.. it was just never talked about openly like these days.

  7. But how sure are you that the guy is not another victim from our poverty striken brothers who want to reap were they did not sow? Right or wrong, i think we need to be impatio here and look at the matter interlligently, these chaps kwatu they can kill you for your own money, not just wa zungus are victims, even i was once a victim in my own land from my own pipo not with a similar case though, dont start insulting me, am just stating the truth!

  8. cage the bustard if found wanting. Its wrong to tolerate such insanity in zambia. Wether christian or no christian how can surely a man think of romping with another man or even a woman boging another woman. We shouldnt waste time in that case if he did it then he must be sent to prison so that he can continue boging the inmate there or if not him being bogged.

  9. Oops, this Belgian national, Pascal, he must not forget to invest in blue seal jelly because he will need it at Chimbokaila. People in prisons work and they(inmates) will show him how men work as meaning that he has to be on his knees almost all the time for the fighting men. He will be playing a role of a ‘wife’ and doing domestic choas for the fighting men. There is too much friction hence he needs too much blue seal jelly. Enjoy the rough ride white boy, welcome to the world of ‘wyfe’

    • agreed. I’m surprised they even have the temerity to start prosecuting. They haven’t enforced this law except in extreme cases usually involving pedophilia. A sad day for human rights in Zambia.

    • This man has been known to go for young boys but no one has had the courage to do anything yet. This may be the perfect way to get a pedophile off the streets if others come forward. This is not about gay rights – its more about a way to stop this man from screwing around with poor youngsters

  10. I’m a zambian aged 24 I new I was gay since I can remember. Im now studying medicine abroad doing my last year actually. There is nothing wrong with being its all about our hormones and body mechanism. Its very disappointing to see that we are still judgemental towards people who are different from us. Im alot happier with my sexuality and I thank God I was born this way.

    • Good for you. let me be the first to say that your sexuality does not deter from your value as a human in my eyes. I hope you will return to Zambia and employ your skills. Perhaps set up your own practice…I am in the health field and will be getting my degrees in the next 18 months and hope to set up a facility multi-disciplinary facility in Zambia, hope we can work together.

    • i know a Zambian boy who’s 11 now, but i realized that he was ‘behaving differently’ from other boys his age when he was 9.. I’m sure the boy is gay and i’ve got no problem with that nor with the rest of the homosexual people around the world. Problem is zambians are too ignorant about such issues, I’ve been to PRIDE PARADE in amsterdam, brighton, tel aviv, frankfurt, next one is tokyo despite that am heterosexual and married for 25 yrs .. now that’s what i call tolerance!!

    • Thanx guys. People dont understand I grew up in a culture where no body talked about sexuality and yet I knew I was different somehow. That didnt stop me from working hard and achieving my dreams now Im enjoying the freedom of living in a foreign country well evryone is treated the same. Vodoo. I would love to work with you. Definately there is no place like home. I will come back home eventually. Hope our people’s mind will be more open by that time.

    • I do understand what you are saying. I was born homosexual. How can a 10 year old child choose to be gay? Huh. I have lived with this fear of disappointing my folks and now I am beginning to realise time has passed without making do with the best that God gave me. Yes, we are all different and in so many ways. Yet so many differences dont make us fight each other in a barbaric and bigoted manner. It is this huge hatred for anything championed by ‘western” states that consumes us and forget that infact we are fighting ourselves. So many Zambians claim homosexuality is unnatural and base every inch of their argument on the bible and the draconian constitution … well. Its high time we stood up and defended what is right even if it meant being stoned, than to live in misery for the rest…

  11. Read these Bible about unnatural acts like lesbianism and homosexuality: May the almighty father in heaven and our saviour Jesus Christ sending the holy spirit to understanding the scriptures as you read them Amen.
    Lev:18:22. Rv:21:8. Lev:20:13. 1Kgs:14:24. Romans:1:26-32: Deut:23:17. 1Kgs:14:24. 1Kgs:15:12. 1Kgs:22:46. 2Kgs:23:7. Rv:21:27.

    • The same scriptures,  you will find them talking about alcohol, adutery,a girl married and not a virgin should be stonned, e.tc. why dont you practice those laws?its because every human has the right to sin.

  12. Vigilantes and instant justice!! , How does this old man manage to have sex without his consent??There is either money involved or blackmail, bad for investors as they will be afraid and run away, so no more jobs.let the law take its case, not guilty untill proved.

  13. NUBIAN PRINCESS my dear,

In Zambian it’s not about consent its about the law. Homosexuality is illegal. Sodomy is a crime. Just like making a video for personal consumption like Iris. Once seen by another eye you’re done.

Its rough out there my dear. Keep praying for home!!

  14. No 17- u can not do whateva u want with yo partner just becoz its in private. If u kill yo partner in private you will be answerable, if you share stolen money in private you will be caged…therefore if you commit a homosexual act, the law says that you have to be charged !
