Power Go Top of League Table

Share

Power Dynamos on Sunday bumped Zanaco from the top of the table after winning their penultimate Faz Super Division game at home against Napsa Stars in Kitwe.

The 2011 Faz Super Division champions beat Napsa 2-1 at Arthur Davies Stadium to close the two-point gap between themselves and Zanaco and move to the top on 59 and 58 points respectively after 29 matches played.

All three goals came in the opening 35 minutes of the first half with Power midfielder Emmanuel Chimpinde putting Power ahead in the 23rd minute before Simon Bwalya made it 2-0 in the 35th minute.

Napsa scored their consolation goal of the game in the 43rd minute through Mike Silayvwe.

Power now have a another date with destiny in Lusaka this time with Red Arrows on November 10 in a match they need to win to retain the title for a second successive  season.

In 2011, Power also clinched the title in Lusaka last year on the penultimate day of the season  with a 1-0 win over Zanaco at Sunset Stadium.

  1. Power Dynamos should be used for Africa Cup in RSA. Some countries have done than before, including Egypt, Zameleck, except foreigners of course.

  2. Simon Bwalya maked it 2-0? People complain of grammar on this and other online publications. If the reporters can’t go to school they must read widely. Surely maked cannot be the past tense of make. Where do u put made! Ba editor pa attention to details that’s what we call excellence

  3. NKANA FC should beat ZANACO for us on the same date. Anyway Arrows should not be a big handle, we are simply unstoppable!!

  4. ati all the three goals were scored in the first 35 minutes…….nomba ati napsa scored their consolation goal in the 43rd minute..very confusing report. LT, your reporters needs pull up their socks.

  5. LT are u school boys at some secondary school trying to make it in Journalism after finishing grade 12???? Pathetic reporting!!!! Anyway big ups to power, i was in Kitwe yesterday and i tell u, the fans were so happy, ecstatic mood. Congrats Kitwe Power supporters, we have been let down by ZESCO Utd (but not Man Utd) here in Ndola….

  6. Problem with Power Dynamos is that they dont go far in continental competitions in recent years. I prefer Zesco United to them.

  7. If Power wins the title (as I expect them to), then Please for the good of Zed soccer you will need to reinforce in order not to shame us in continental football. They may win the domestice title but you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to know that the current squad doesn’t come close to the likes of TP Mazembe, Esperance, etc

  8. As we used to sing for them in the early 80’s, “mangalawila chikombe chaba power eh mangalawila, chikombe chaba power, mangalawila chikombe chaba power mangalawila.” Go power go power go.
