Elijah Tana Shares Coaching Ambitions

Share

Ex-Chipolopolo captain Elijah Tana says he is relishing his coaching role at Faz Super Division side Nchanga Rangers where he is an assistant coach.
Tana was among 57 local coaches who obtained Faz D License coaching certificates at the weekend after a three-day training workshop held in Luanshya.
Other upcoming coaches tutored by local instructor and Konkola Mine Police coach Masautso Mwale were Luanshya United head coach Joel Bwalya, Nkana assistant coach Gift Kampamba and  Roan United assistant trainer Hilary Makasa.

In an interview, Tana said he decided to take up coaching because of his love for football.

“You just can’t retire from football completely that’s why I have made this decision. It’s important to become coach when you retire from active football,” he said.

“I want to share my experience in football with upcoming players. I want to see many local players excel at the highest level.” Tana added.

  1. @Nostradamus. It appears you know very little about Zambian football. I have followed your comments on football issues. You appear to be a layman on this issue. Correct me if I am wrong.

  2. @Nostradamus, though you talk so much nonsense about Zambian football especially on the Katongo brothers, u do not know anything so wilasabaila mudala.

  3. I thought the article was on Tana. Its good to see former players appreciating professionalism in coaching. Where is Happy Sichikolo. These are some of the small courses he should be attending if he wants to coach a premier league club next season.

  4. Way to go Tana. Zambia needs experienced players in the coaching sector. We want to go to one World Cup with a locally bred coach… and win it!

  5. “You just can’t retire from football completely, what will I eat,I have no professional skills plus I did not plan very well that’s why I have made this decision,” he said.
    Hear that poor Zambians!
