Patriotic Front cadres this morning heeded to party Secretary General Wynter Kabimba’s directive not to block embattled Kabwata Members of Parliament and Foreign Affairs Minister Given Lubinda from entering his office as planned.

Mr. Lubinda told Qfm News in an interview this morning from his office that he does not expect anyone to block him from carrying out national duties.

He says he will continue serving the people of Zambia despite the continuing pressure on him to resign from the ruling party.

And speaking in a separate interview, PF Kabwata Constituency Chairman David Silubanje said he has withdrawn his cadres from blocking Mr. Lubinda to allow the disciplinary committee take necessary action against him.

Mr. Silubanje says it is the will of the people that Mr. Lubinda is reprimanded by the party’s disciplinary committee on allegations of divided loyalty.

Yesterday PF secretary general Wynter Kabimba called on party cadres to exercise patience and wait for the disciplinary committee to hear cases instead of locking suspected offenders outside their offices.

[pullquote]“This is not my party and I am equal to every one of you here. Therefore, I have no reason or objective to hound anyone out of this party. People will hound themselves out, not me. They will also be hounded out by members who want to defend the party,” Kabimba said.[/pullquote]

“I want to urge you colleagues that we should allow the process to take its course,” Mr Kabimba said. “May I also state that a disciplinary committee was constituted to look at all pending issues,” he said.

The Justice Minister added, “I would urge you to exercise patience and do not lock anyone out of their offices,” he said.

He said the ruling party will act to protect itself from anyone who attempts to frustrate its efforts and this must not be mistaken for hounding out foes.

Mr Kabimba said the PF is presently going through a defining moment to protect its ideology which requires it to correct erring members.

He said he has been accused of trying to hound out and victimise some party members but that these are the people who do not want to repent about bad situations they have created for themselves.

“This is not my party and I am equal to every one of you here. Therefore, I have no reason or objective to hound anyone out of this party. People will hound themselves out, not me. They will also be hounded out by members who want to defend the party,” Kabimba said.

Mr Kabimba said the PF has to cleanse itself in order to be strong.

“We want people to be members because of what they can do for the party and not what the party can do for them,” he said.

Mr Kabimba said while Government makes up the administrative structures of the country, the ruling party is the political authority of the country.

“The ruling party is important and supreme. It has nothing to do with the one-party state because before Government, there was a party,” he said.

He said President Sata founded the PF for the poor, not the rich.

He asked ministers to serve interests of the poor, adding that if they have missed that point, they will not last. He cautioned Government leaders not to take anything for granted.

  1. It is sad that you can see a “malitia” type of leadership in the country and it is all sanctioned by the leaders of political parties. We need to move on from these colonial type of mentality and behaviour. Why should people even be called “cadres” in this day and age. These are just hooligans with little to do and are being abused by our politicians in paying them to turn up when called for in showing solidarity to politicians. My advise is: Leave politicians to talk politics and the rest of us should listen and judge them on performance against their promises. We as citizens do not need to “belong” to any political party and fight among ourselves while these so called leaders enrich themselves.

  2. Honerable just continue on the right truck of development hope you know its not smooth, how you sort it out makes you outstanding.Avoid the commoners and concentrate on work to avoid giving reason for these small minded pipo to smear you with dirt.

  3. ‘Mr Kabimba said while Government makes up the administrative structures of the country, the ruling party is the political authority of the country’

Where did he get that crrap, certainly not the constitution?

  4. I guess Kabimba’s ARVs have stabilised his thinking for now anyway? You’re NOT doing Lubinda a favour, that’s what you as S.G. of the party are supposed to say to your chola boys period. Continue taking your ARVs and DO NOT skip a day. We are literally sick and tired of your B.U.L.L. S.H.I.T.
    Merry christmas.

  5. Why dont that guy Ka something resign on medical grounds? cos we all know that those
meds he’s taking have side effects, so why let him work when he cant even think straight? In which capacity do these people get appointed? surely sane people are abused by not so health people indeed they are all sick at the Top if they think this is right! Merry xmas to all you my friends on LT aswell as LT, xxx.

  6. This episode is sickening! Given Lubinda is a very intelligent, articulate and impressive Minister of Foreign Affairs who is widely respected world-wide and this is what is making lesser men (e.g., Sata & Kabimba) feel threathened and gittery. Even Sata is envious of the accolades Given Lubinda has scored in the short time he has been at Foreign Affairs. Please Sata and Kabimba concentrate on: providing 24hr clean drinking water to all households; demolish illegal structures; contain the green army worms; stabilise the kwacha – not mere rebasing; improve education and health care; collect garbage from all households; ensure 24hr electricity for all households; ensure sanity in land allocation and open up for land for allocation; mend pot holes; control crime and create employment! Work …

  7. Now PF supporters are helplessly watching Kabimba calling the shots when there is a president. You need to find direction instead of letting Winter drive you.

  8. Ba kabimba, your strategies are so cheap and no wonder you will never be true leader. You surely can never be my leader let alone my president! On my dead body

  9. I am glad people are noew seeing that the Pa Fwaka (PF) is made up of a bunch of selfish people who just want to enrich themselves and whoever will try to stop them will be seen as a threat! Given lubinda will not stop at anything until you guys are out of office since you have selfish motives! God never seats down to watch His children be tormented and to tell you the truth you shall regrette the day you came into office when the wrath of god descends uponypu! Thieves!!!!!!

  10. #2 & #10 , your comments are worth reading and thank you for the detail you have provided. The exchange of words between Kabimba and Lubinda is not going anywhere. For now, just sit back and wait.

  11. Please somebody find some work for those so called cadres, they need to be employed even if it is at a farm. The do not need to be hired to disturb elected leaders at all. We do not need this kinda of hooliganism in the country. Someone educate those illiterates before they sink completely.

  12. why dont they just concentrate on national matters. zambia is a very rich nation but rulled by stupid thugs. in zambia we only have natural resources no human resource. i still dont know what university degrees we are holding there. full of crap!! do leaders feel ashamed flying everyday going abroad landing in nice airports then go back to that KK international bus station. what airport is that? its just a bus station. shame on zambians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. SHAME ON US THEN. . we should work as a team not ma setting ma setting within the party. run our country like running a company can take us somewhere. even this sata how can he give stupid former primary ,secondary school teachers high posts in the government. the cabinet is full of people who dont think. most of ministers look like toads. when are we going to have news of development not NEGATIVE news everyday. the news is just ,that one sued that, that one is fired, that one raped that etc  CRAZY CRAZY !!!!!!!!

  14. kabimba is sick, mr president can u pliz give him some bed rest. I think the bitches in Nagoma, Mumbwa have finished him. we need development not the sticking utterances coming from his mouth like a patient who has not cleaned his mouth after taking ARVs from 11 september 2011 todate.

  15. Lets leave mr. kafimba summer alone he is a selfish leader who think dat the president wil leave the seat for him en want to eliminate all his threat.shame on him.

  16. ok buti ine my heart hurts when i see the way cadres are used as political pets just because of their social standing!kwena we will answer to God someday…cadres need to be kept in check..its a worrying trend..we are a few steps away from putting guns in their hands and birthing Zambias militia ..please,please ,please lets not exploit the poor…

  17. Kabimba remember how Chiluba the late dribbled Sata about the presidency, hence his bitterness up to now so be careful i you don’t want to die a bitter man as well.
