Former Works and Supply Minister Mike Mulongoti has come to the defence of Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia Executive Director Reverend Pukuta Mwanza on his sentiments of the alleged abuse of the Public Order Act, with a call on other church mother bodies to condemn injustices in the country.

Speaking in an interview , Mr. Mulongoti said he is shocked that government has come out strongly in condemning Reverend Mwanza for speaking against the injustices in the country.

He encouraged Reverend Mwanza and other stakeholders to be strong and continue speaking for the voiceless in the country.

The former cabinet minister says it is highly hypocritical for the PF to turn around and stick to the laws they condemned while in opposition.

Mr. Mulongoti said the Patriotic Front should not forget that while in opposition, they enjoyed whenever the church condemned injustices by the MMD government.

He has therefore urged Chief Government Spokesperson Kennedy Sakeni to find solutions to issues that Zambians want the government to address as opposed to condemning the truth.

Chief Government spokesperson Kennedy Sakeni was recently quoted as saying that the Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) and Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) in particular were issuing statements that were “inflated and lopsided” on the Public Order Act.

It is clear that the EFZ executive director Pukuta Mwanza and FODEP’s McDonald Chipenzi are determined to ignore the fundamental realities of governance for selfish motives.

“To suggest abuse of power by the State especially on the Public Order Act is the worst form of lies and deceit that can ever come from two self-respecting leaders of the civil society that claim to mean well for the country,” Mr Sakeni said.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mulongoti says the revelations by Tourism Minister Sylvia Masebo that some people have secretly been flying planes into Game parks to illegally airlift government trophy, has the potential to jeopardize the country’s security.

Mr. Mulongoti said the matter is sensitive and that Ms. Masebo should have sealed the loopholes secretly without alarming the nation,a situation he said raises security questions.

  1. madam masebo knows not what she was talking about if she knew then she doesn’t know what she talked about meant. i have owez emphasized that ubukopo just like ubupuba fyonse fibi. thumbs up mike!

  2. That is UNIP thinking of assuming that if you “secretly” reveal something then you are safeguarding “something”… this is a new age, bwana Mulongoti. What Masebo revealed is just a tip of the iceberg that ordinary people already know about. And if I may ask, when is it a loophole? When it is revealed, or when it is being exploited? Secret or not? Now that you know you MUST SEAL those loopholes and work out NEW MEASURES to proactively seal any seemingly upcoming ones! That is how sane, modern entities work I believe.

    • Correct. Masebo just pointed out the ills that are happening in this country. whether she knew the implication or not, thanks we have known that our parks have been play grounds for the smart poachers in the name of tourists. It is not even a secret that our security system in Zambia is highly porous, no doubt about that.

  3. Wen are forming your rebased party?? I want to be your national treasurer so that I can ask Kamimbya to pay us the money you spent to bring his party to power.

  4. I do not see any logic in this guys argument. Security is already jeopardised because there are illegal flights conducting illegal activities already. Someone sensibly highlights the problem in order to correct it but you claim that the wistle will jeopardise security. What kind of thinking is that?

  5. When Sylvia said the plane fly in and out without being detected, she meant that what the planes were carrying (ani, als) was not known to the government. And GBM confirmed that we defence does not go to the details of finding out what these private planes are carrying. Sylvia is not as dull as you Mulongoti. Honourable Masebo, do not listen to *****s like Mulongoti. We know ZAWA has been doing this for a long time. Its only that there are no proper systems for whistle blowing and we Zambian are generally unpatriotic. Viva Sylvia!!

  6. ladies and gentle, masebo is sick in her head. she may think that what she said was right but not,all meaningful people must condemn her. the problem with politician is wen in power watever the say is okay, for security reason it’s not okay.in other country the can ask her, the president to resign because of security reason, MASEBO,KABIMBA are sick in their heads

  7. when you grow old learn to keep quiet especially when you speak nothing all the time.Try farming laziness leads to shem all the time.

  8. one day only a day shame ll caught up with you masebo, masebo and kabimba are potray to SATA that the are hard working minister ni boza, MASEBO is only interested in politic of belly, wen Banda fired her she become slim, she failed to secure the seat in chongwe she was beaten all wat she did was to bribe her stupid cousin to resign yo pave way for her,u are not straight in ur head *****,stupid, wechili ule iwe

  9. AS long as you have corrupt ZAWA officials and in the absence of air patrols Zambian animals, minerals, etc will be airlifted easily out of the country. Hopefully, the people in the various security services will react positively to these concerns by Ms Masebo. She may not have put it in a good or correct way but then it is said that every dark cloud has a silver lining.

  10. SATA is a worst hypocrite this man in 1996 when he was MMD National Secretary wrote a letter to President Chiluba then advising him on the SUPREME COURT JUDGEMENT AGAINST PUBLIC ORDER ACT which was delivered by Justice NGULUBE CJ on 10th January, 1996 on the case CHRISTINE MULUNDIKA AND 7 OTHERS AND THE PEOPLE in this letter to Chiluba SATA advised the government to respect the judgement. The judgement reads on last part of it i cot: IN SUM AND FOR THE REASONS WHICH WE HAVE GIVEN, WE HOLD THAT SUBSECTION 4 OF SECTION 5 OF THE PUBLIC ORDER ACT, CAP 104, CONTRAVENES ARTICLES 20 AND 21 OF THE REPUBLICAN CONSTITUTION AND IS NULL AND VOID, AND THEREFORE INVALID FOR UNCONSTITUTIONALITY.

  11. alot of precious minerals are being air lifted from north western province every day. this is not new. this not latest. umuto wa chipuba upwila muli tumfweko. unfortunately this is still hapenning. please ba PF goverment do something. prove to the people that voted for you in power that you are worthy their vote.

  12. I really find it strange that we have pipo like Mr Mulongoti being vocal over issues that are very straight forward. Madam Masebo is in a very safe position to comment on such matters not people like this vuvuzela called mulongoti talktime

  13. I ALWAYS WONDER WHY PIPO WHO CAN EVEN ACCESS INTERNET CAN THINK AS SHALLOW AS THEY DO IN COMMENTS LIKE SOME ABOVE. ITS DISASSTER FOR THIS COUNTRY. EVEN STRAIGHT 4WARD THINGS PIPO LIKE MIKE AND OTHERS WOULD THINK AS THO THEY USE THEIR TOES AND NOT BRAINS! just becoz its P.F nothing is good, No..not at all. heal from bitterness u UPNDs u walked out of the pact ur selves shame on you

  14. masebo is a nationalist with Zambians as her first priority. Not this mulogoti wan.ker and MMD who were turning a blind eye while Zambia is being raped because they are being bribed

  15. This same Mulogoti was in MMD when the used the public order act. He was also there when Dora messed up the Radar deals. There is a security weakness and I do not see anything wrong in anyone pointing it out. Zambia is raped left right and center

  16. The once vibrant civil society in Zambia is watching events unfolding on the fence. Its interesting to note how strangely society civic leaders have become quiet of any ills going on in our nation. All our gains to democratic norms are set against the tide of fear and oppression in Zambia. Obviously, those in government and their associates will never agree that something is going wrong despite all the clear signs on the horizon. Yes, Mr Mulongoti is right as some one has clearly stated in the Zambiawatchdog.com editorial commentry. The civil society has been infiltrated by cadres and offered money to either keep quiet or speak against any voice questioning the wrongs by PF government. The rate of by-electione engineered by PF govt is alarming at the expense of service delivery to voters.

  17. Much is said in the Zambiawatchdog editorial comment that Zambians are currently engulfed in cofusion of what is made of our president. All Zambia’s hopes are dashed against the great expectations that put Mr Sata in charge of our national affairs. A new reformed force is necessary to rescue Zambia from a position its gone back to 30 years ago.

  18. Mulongoti, why are you condeming Masebo? she is merely exposing the Zawa people how they are corrupt, why keep quiet, you are not helping the Goverment, some one has to come out in open and talk, fearing out, you Mulongoti, what can the church do, some of these churchs are just after the money. Just shut up

  19. I am convinced that in our country alot of damage was done by these mmd thugs ,educated mambalas.Only embaciles can buy into de rubbish dIS HYPOCRITY AND SHALLOW MULONGOTI HAS SAID.Security is aleady comprimised. BRAVO MADAM.ZED WITH EDUCATED FOOLS.

  20. LET DE SO CALLED EDUCATED TELL US WHAT DEY HAVE DONE 4 MOTHER ZAMBIA.HARDLY NOTHING JUST GOOD AT INVENTING WAYS OF PLUNDERING AND INNOVATIONS IN IT 4 MORE PLUNDER .@12. IT IS THIS KIND OF SLANDER ND FALSEHOOD DAT EXPOSES UPND’S,ZWD,MMD SICKNESS.

  21. You are bitter, no one can see any sense in what you are saying (Mulongoti).
Just announce your stupid Party, why are you speaking on behalf of the Church. The Church should not be used to condemn but to offer advice.
Our Public Offices are open for advice, why should the Church be used to promote confusion. Mulongoti you are a finished politician, just concentrate on farming.

  22. Mulongoti kindly shut up, you mean madam Masebo doesn’t know anything to do with his ministry? Please let her tell us more. Our security wing is porous.

    • The last time I checked your madam masebo was a woman. When did she undergo sex change? Please address her as “HER” NOT “HIS”. Genuine and honest mistake I suppose. Ok. You are forgiven.

  23. Who are the voiceless is it the common man in zambia, yes if you speak for the common zambian, but not individual wealth politicians the common zambian wants a job he wants to send children to school he needs food to eat needs housing these are the basic needs, now politicians speak a lot and bring confusion because what they only is power

  24. Let the citizens know that this was going on un detected. This man was in the government that should have corrected this ill. viva PF

  25. Mike, even if you are a bad example of a turncoat, I salute you for counselling that Sakeni. In a debate, people discuss issues. Now you find that Sakeni attacking the integrities of Mwanza and Chipenzi instead of responding to the issues they have raised. What kind of dullness is this honestly? How far did this chap go in his school? Or is dullness one of the qualifications for appointment to cabinet positions? Sakeni how did you land that position of Chief GRZ Spokesperson? Heh? Tell us. Or forever shut your mouth.

  26. Stu.pid PF chaps! You lot talk too much. And you have small brains! That’s reason I like you and your President. I really like to hear !riots talk!

  27. Disappointments can make some one do anything to restore his/her past record. But to people who understand human behaviour cannot give any point to such individuals. It should ring in the minds of all politicians even those who are not politicians that in life, don’t expect anything from any one because expectation when not fulfilled gives you pain. But when you get something without expecting it, it gives you pleasure. So keep doing your part and leave the rest to God.

  28. The problem with ZED politics is that its too backward and dirty. This is why we never elect technocrats like mutati, magande, etc. We have left politics to the dogs and believe me, “they are barking”. This has made our country a circus, full of clowns and spectators. Are we sure that these politicians we have in power are all we have in ZED? We got clowns doing tricks and backflips from UNIP to MMD to UPND to PF and to heavens know where and at the end of the show the clowns start pointing fingers at each other like monkeys in a Zoo…..at the end of it all here we are still poor, grapling with disease, and selling stuff on streets claiming to be hustlers, ba ZED nothing comes cheap, you cant develop a country with clowns. Vote for Technocrats!!! Vote wisely bafikala!
