Peter Chitila Slams Zambia’s performance

Share

Ex-Zambia defender Peter Chitila has slammed Chipolopolo’s performance in Monday’s 1-1 draw with Ethiopia at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations South Africa.

Chitila, who featured at the 1998 Africa Cup in Burkina Faso, charged that Zambia performed below par in their Group C tie against Ethiopia played at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.

The former Power Dynamos and Red Arrows defender, however, was remained hopeful that Zambia can up their game as they try to defend the AFCON title.

“Watching Zambia draw with Ethiopia 10 man 1-1 very below par performance by our Zambian team,” Chitila noted.

“Ethiopia looked comfortable on the ball and made more passes despite 10 man Ethiopia team. Does this Zambian coach have more ideas of modern soccer? I seriously doubt it,” he posted on his face book page.

“There was lack of movement in the Zambian team but I hope for the best,” Chitila added.
Zambia’s next game is on Friday against Nigeria who were last night held to a 1-1 draw by Burkina

  1. tactically, renard is way back.
that game exposed him to the full. he is not good in tactics despite the abundance of talent at his disposal.

    • Bwana renard, you need to do something, or else we wont even allow you to come to Zambia from SA. when it come to soccer Zambians have no patiency (they only allow politicians to abuse them for long time , 20-27 years before they change the party)

    • Why do Zambian accept mediocrity? Why defend an appealing performance that he is pointing out? Don’t shoot the messenger!

  2. Imwe ba Sana its wrong to think you can only be critticised by those who are holier thaan thou. Some good critics don’t even Play

    • One of the best soccer coaches and critic in the world is Jose Mourinho. he never played any soccer, but he is a good coach, critic and analyst.

  3. wow anybody saying Zambia had a good game must be living in a parallel universy. Chitila is spot on and critisizing him like the comment above is unthinkable.

  4. Substituting Muzo for Jacob was wrong decision by our coach. That’s the wing where they scored their equalising goal.Mayuka should have been introduced area;and i dont know why Jonas is never given enough game time the guy is lethal & has been top scorer in the Sudanese league(second best league in African) for a number of years.

  5. When a player is not in good form u substitute him….Kalaba( the best if not the second) was not in form. Can this coach find a replacement for Chris Katongo…..selfish boy always wanting to be on the score sheet…Umuntu ni Mbesuma, Mukuka mulenga should be given more time to play its seems he is Zambia’s future. Jacob kaya mwandi…

    • To be frank kalaba is not yet back in form, Chris, mayuka, James, Jacob not impressive, mbesuma, jonas only reliable strikers, mukuka.isaac, chisamba, sinkala pa mid.chris can do as a super sub milanzi was going to be a formidable force.

  6. Iwe Chitila wabe itili. What did you achieve iwewine. Balekunaya fye ama olilo ku ma sene sene. Yali kosa bola dont underate the Ethiopians.

  7. Even if Chitila did not bring a cup to Zed he is spot on, Zambia played pathetically last evening , the problem with our coach is he has favorites in the team, chris for one wasn’t supposed to play, The muzo sub was wrong, Kalaba needs competition, Muyuka should have been introduced earlier ect

  8. It is easier said than done. That splendid save by Mweene bailed us from a huge embarrassement. Let’s be united friends, God loves Zambia and will surely provide for us what is best. What would you have said if that penalty went in? Come on, all hope lost. Truth of the matter, there is room for imrpovement. Love you all and hope you can sober up after Fridays game.

  9. The bottom line is Zambia performed below par. With that type of performance I don’t see the Chipolopolo going to the quarter finals.I fancy Nigeria and Ethiopia to go through but none will progress to the semi finals.Truth be told,We are not defending the Africa cup this time around.Let the team just come back home to commence the world cup qualifying preperations. We still have Sudan at home and Ghana away.

    • Iyee mwebantu! Just now the team should come back for world cup preparations? That is really being pessimistic at its best. Zambia can still do better as long as coach HR does not form a line-up which is from VENUS! LOL
There is still hope, go Zambia go! We are still in the game!

  10. IMWE, BOLA YALYAFYA! You can loose to a small team, and can have an off day. Keep the faith and enjoy the tournament plz!

  11. BEST LINE-UP

    4-5-1
Mweene, Nkausu, Mbola, HH, Sunzu, Sinkala, Chansa, Lungu, Kalaba, Mbesuma or Mayuka orJacob at the very top and not be allowed to drop even a bit

  12. chi colour peter chitila wat did u achieve in ur soccer career? just shut ur hell hole chi colour waumfwa?? go zambia go!! win or lose

  13. Personally Mayuka,Mbesuma, Chamanga and this young man Mulenga who came as a subsitute should be introduced in the first half.Katongo and Chansa should rest.In defence Nkausu is not technical he can’t cross should be replayed as well

  14. I dont get till now. Why is Kalaba always given free kicks? When all of them he has either hit the wall, or Kicked the ball over the Goal post..it the Ball went aside the wood work… When will the team produce some one who can score free kicks into the kit? Kalusha should mentor one or two boys we really miss his style of converting the free kicks into goals. Please ba Kalu show one or two players they are all lacking in that area.

  15. A year ago these were your heros some of you even went out naked, ladies gave for free coz of joy i remmember someone being crashed by the army vehicle ,in the show grounds people fell from the roof top ……….Lets believe they can still do it .In the last tournament most of the players and supporters were in prayers. After winning the captain said the Cup was dedicated to the new government ,,the president went to SA to wish the boys good luck ,,listen to the song they song for him as if the president was their God ….and he promised them a lot of money and not for the spirit to be with them …….God first bane we forget him easely lets do it the Gabon way prayer first .I saw one Zambian player praying in yesterdays game then when Ethopia were given a penalty and all we say is Mweene

  16. REMEMBER NO MORE MONEY IN THEIR POCKETS IF THEY DO NOT BRING THE CUP BACK.$90,000 UKWA HAS ALREADY BUDGETED FOR THEM IN THE 2013 BUDGET WHICH WAS RELEASED

  17. Very useless performance. HR you need to do something, or else we wont even allow you to come to Zambia from SA. when it come to soccer Zambians have no patiency (they only allow politicians to abuse them for long time , 20-27 years before they change the party)

  18. Mweene mukali umwaice! Na Mbesuma alemoneka nashibuka. Mbesuma I want to see your hunger for more goals! Mweene keep cool between the posts. Renard the Fox you are the coach not us the couch potatoes.

  19. If prayers are so useful and players from opposing sides are sometimes praying to the same god or deity, what explanation can be made for the losing players? selective hearing?

  20. certainly like your web-site but you need to test the spelling on several of your posts. Many of them are rife with spelling issues and I find it very bothersome to tell the truth however I will surely come again again.

  21. The critics and luck of soccer knowledge shunned … Most pathetic performance for Zambia defending champions no win in a tournament .. That flushes the red flag on the coach .if we still live in delusion we will c Zambia miss out world cup finals which is on our finger tips.. He has no morden soccer idears .. We need to attend to this coaching issue ASAP… Why have 10 coaches on the bench we can’t even put 10 passes together .. Players r ok.. But it’s the luck of movement on the pitch … A smart coach should read the game as it goes he doesn’t have a crew .. He depends on names and not match day performance …. Four defensive midfielders on the pitch unusual…. . Qualifying for world cup in jeorpedy if we don’t attend this pro misery note by mr Reiner (coach) a draw in Lesotho /…
