Opposition leaders have stopped thinking-Atanga

Ruling PF Deputy Secretary General Bridget Atanga has charged that the move by leaders of the opposition to hold a news conference in Lusaka is a sign of total madness.

Mrs. Atanga observed that opposition leaders are exhibiting the highest levels of dishonesty by discrediting the PF government on foreign soil.

“This is unheard of. I have never heard of leaders running to other countries to air their grievances which could be resolved internally. These so called leaders should put their priorities right,” Mrs. Atanga said.

She said the opposition leaders should re-evaluate their priorities if they are to stand a chance of leading Zambians.

“When His Excellency Mr. Michael Chilufya Sata was campaigning, he never went to seek the international community’s indulgence to the problems Zambia was facing, he provided home grown solutions to those problems and he managed to win the elections.”

Mrs. Atanga said the opposition leaders attempt to embarrass and discredit President Sata’s administration will never work.

“Every genuine citizen of this country can see through their schemes but it won’t work, their South African trip was a waste of time,” she said.

  1. The so called opposition leaders are all confused and dont know where to go! St Micheal is just smilling at how disoriented the idiets are and no one seems to understand the political might of His excellence Michael! Indeed their trip to south africa is a waste of time! 28th February is comming and we shall see if south africans will vote for them! That press conference was supposed to be held either in Mpongwe or Livingstone! We shall see!

  2. surely the meeting could have made sense here because we are the people affected here in zambia nod south africa’n they have there own problems infact more then ours. let opposition provide solutions of how to sort out private millers who are subjecting poor zambian to hunger by creating antificial shortage. What is disturbing is that FRA has maize there is money for by-elections but why can’t government use the same money to find solutions. Let’s us have govenment millers and councils run mealie meal outlets so that all the maize can be sold to government millers and forget about private millers. Enough is enough this is the food a poor zambian can afford period…. Hon Sichinga kindly find lasting solutions to shortage of mealie meal..poor zambians are sufferng.

    • You expect people who are not in govt to sort out your mealie meal shortages as if they are the one running your govt……..are you out of your mind? Sata’s govt is in charge…….and you maggots should learn to take responsibility! The buck stops at the one who ia in State House! And by the way were have you been all this time? Are the opposition not been frustrated by your incompetent, clueless and visionless govt?

    • What haven’t the Opposition leaders done to reason with these fools in this Pathetic fools government. if you ever read any news didn’t you see the P Fools ransacking the UPND secretariat no so long ago. How else do you want them to voice their concerns.

  3. Asryt madam, it’s a pit that people like HH, Sikota and Nevers could sink so low and be hoodwinked by this crook Amsterdam. These guys are now like headless chickens and this idiot Amsterdam is thinking for them. Mind you, Amsterdam is working for Lupiya and has been banned in Zambia hence he’s using you to achieve his goes, in the meantime you are losing even the little votes you had. Come on be realistic.

  4. They are running abroad because of the continual harassments by your party police and followers. You are slowly returning our country to authoritarian rule and the world is watching. Your honeymoon period is over. You can not isolate yourselves from international pressure and the Zambian people. The opposition in a democracy is there to keep you in check and it’s their duty to expose any loopholes or shortfalls in your use of public resources. Remember this simple rule, YOU ARE SERVANTS OF THE PEOPLE OF THE REPUBLIC OF ZAMBIA, NOT MASTERS. Kaunda, Levy and Banda understood this simple line and that’s why your party is in power today.

    • I’m not a supporter of any of these parties but I believe in democratic principals and rule of law. Zambia has been a strong defender of freedom and we should not let this slip just because of a few selfish individuals. Zambia is bigger that all of us.

    • @futureZed… thats the point a president should be a servant of the people not a master. Thats the point PF blind followers DONOT GET!…. the donot even understand the rule of law… maybe they donot even know it all together!.

    • Future Zed what you are saying does not hold water!!RB did not consider himself a servant of the people and that why he chose to amass wealth at the expense of the poor.He now knows that time is for him to face his wrongs is slowly catching up with him and he has decided to run for cover under Armsterdam.HH and Nevers think Armstaerdam will help them to get the president by discrediting the PF.This will not happen as long as the opposition fail to come up with reasonable, meaningful and workable developmental manifestos to convince the Zambians. As at now the opposition is in disarray, confused with no direction!!

    • @Life is a journey, I respect your opinion however my point is aimed at freedom and respect of the rule of Law not abuse of office. Our democracy being tested. RB may have amassed wealth at the expense of the people as claimed but surely the best and civilised way of exposing this in a democratic country is to follow the rule of law? The people of Zambia voted him out of office and if he wished to cling on, he would have done so using the instruments of power the military. Give credit where it’s due, RB is not terrorising anyone. Investigate him and recover what he has amassed through the proper channels rather than using him as an excuse to commit more atrocities to anyone who appears critical to government.

  5. Our President Sata was the first to show that he doesn’t think through his actions so how then do you expect the opposition to react to a non thinking president, of course take drastic measures like going to jo’burg so the world can know what kind of animal Sata is. there is better order in the jungle than this that we as a country are being subjected to.

  6. Dear Atanga,
You were already retarded when we turned into a sub sahara’s melting pot of all regional liberation movements hence being this clueless. Us who grew with them and suffered for solidarity we recall that we lived with them in Olympia park, Northmead and Rhodespark. Go ask officials of Swapo, ANC, ZANU, and Frelimo among leaders as Thabo, Hifikepunye Pohamba and many more. Ask KK, Sikota Wina, VJ Mwaanga, Cosmas Chibanda, General Malimba Masheke, General Kingsley Chinkuli and such to mention but a few. They will tell share with you more.

  7. Today, go to the USA the land of the free and liberty. Go find out how many freedom fighters have set up their party offices in Washington DC and are holding meetings there freely. Keep dreaming if you think you can manage to asphyxiate the voice of the people who have tasted freedom and democracy then you shove on them your tyranny, failure, doom and satanism expecting the world and friends of Zambia to remain daft. Keep ranting you will realize that there is no way out but people power.

  8. @Senior citizen
Your thinking is quite medievel and i dont see any senior citizenship in your empty comment! If you think going to south africa by opposition will help solve internal problems, then you better think thrice! Infact south africa has more problems than zambia and iam pretty sure the so called opposition leaders just made fools of themselves in that troubled country!

    • @Senior citizen
you can go even to London or Washington with your opposition leaders and hold press conferences, but if you commit offences with impunity within our jurisdiction (Zambia) we will arrest you and taken to court. We dont care wheather you are HH, Nevers, Saki or Senior citizen we will prosecute you using the existing laws (penal code,CPC, Public Order Act etc).

  9. MR SATA WAS ALLOWED BY RB TO START CAMPNING IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE ELECTIONS AND ALLOWED TO ISSUE ANY STATEMENTS HE WANTED.
BUT AS PF YOU HAVE BEEN REFUSING THESE PEOPLE TO TO HOLD RALLIES, GOING TO THE MARKET TO BUY FOOD, GIVING CHRISMAS PRESENTS AND EVEN HOLDING INDOOR MEETINGS YOU HAVE BEING ARRESTING THEM.
NOW WHAT DID YOU WANT THEM TO DO. DO THINK US ZAMBIANS ARE NOT SEEING THE ILLS YOU ARE DOING.

  10. In an inoperative nation where all rights of the masses have been asphyxiated, and a despot ruins the country without regard of a formal written constitution, the duty of exposing it and briefing friends of a country is in utilizing wider platforms instead of unpatriotically submitting to inimical despotic customary and satanic laws served as the constitution of the wicked shoved on a democratic society when not an imaginary community that can take it.

  11. Atanga indeed yours is a wasted effort which reveals how dull you are. What do you mean solving issues internally when there is no such a forum permitted by your system who are always using the cadre police to stiffle opposition and any opposing view? zambia shall be freed by God from the troubles which has beffalen it.

  12. The only solution for HH, NM & SS is to lobby the international community. If PF wants this to stop they should stop the bullying and invite them to a meeting to resolve their differences. PF should also stop their under-hand methods of bribing opposion MP’s and attempts to get us back to one party state.

    • 2016? It will be before that. Your tribal warlord and breadwinner will soon be relieved of his duties on planet earth. God thinks the man cannot be redeemed….he is pure evil!

  13. There are questions to be answered:
Which point raised by the opposition is wrong? Should the opposition wait to seek international help until people die? What is the status with regard to break away of Barotse Land, a matter where the case have been advanced to UN? What of constitutional violations by the president? What of tribalism practised openly in appointments? What of money owed by Nchito – Mmembe without executive action?

May be things a better in Zambia now if you are PF/Bemba, but think again. What if you were not PF/ Bemba? No offense meant to any one, just what if?

    Prevention is better than cure!!!!

    • @Herald
      1. The opposition lied that PF want to introduce one party state, they should substantiate.
      2. People die everywhere you go, do you mean poverty in Zambia started in Sept 2011, check your facts.
      3. This is a non issue other tribes in Western province have refused to be under one tribe.
      4. Specify any constitutional violations. Appointing MPs from other parties is not uncontitutional, read the constitution and understand. Levy set a precedent, so it was not illegal but Sata does the same it is illegal, what hypocrisy.
      5. There is no tribalism in appointments, that is for HH and his UPND.
      6. If Nchito and Mmembe owed money they need to pay back and this a mere commercial transaction.
      7. PF/Bemba, what nonsense. The problem with you UPND is that you always think of tribe.

  14. @Senior citizen
you are a very bitter person you are just like your brother HH. I think your memory is impaired, just about 2 years ago RB shot and butchered our brothers in Mongu and Mazabuka. Now who is satanic and where was this tribal man ka HH and usual flamboyant fake pastor ( busy eating in Canada). Icikonko ku mukoshi kwenu kwati chabuloshi.

  15. Hammer these Pathetic Fools hard be it in Zambia, South Africa or the Solomon Islands! Pathetic Fools are quaking and quacking!

  16. These opposition chaps are shameless failures who do not qualify to be called leaders. These foolish chaps have no national pride or patriotism; they are just uncompromisingly greedy self-serving eunuch$ who only care about their little trivial agendas. They have no interest whatsoever for the ordinary Zambians.

    • Patriotism is to the nation not to a tribalist and incompetent President. The opposition are patriots who are protecting the nation from the destructive actions of a modern day Idi Amin!

  17. @ Life is a journey which meaningful manifesto does PF have? Please stop dreaming. People of Zambia dont vote based on manifestos. They vote on populist rhetoric like the 90 day everything PF promised. Even you my friend voted PF into power based on lies and not the so called manifesto. Which MANIFESTO? you call PANGA wielding as manifesto. Trush!!!

    • Even tomorrow when you are elected into government HH, will you run outside the country to seek help, something is missing in your reasoning! You are behaving like a child beaten during ukangala with friends and runs to the mother crying and complaining. A good mother will even slap the child, he has to learn to survive by himself without seeking mum’s interferance, you have alot to work on your personality HH. Not yet mature to handle our country with all its problems if you did not grow to be a responsible man than looking for opportunities for ukuzala kuli ba dady. Zambia now needs mature selfless leaders

  18. Let us be reasonable on this, certainly Sata and PF are entirely to blame for this. We all know that if HH, Mumba and Sikota conducted such a press conference in Zambia, they would have been locked up by now or the meeting disrupted by PF cadres. The political environment is different from that which Sata enjoyed as opposition leader. If such an environment existed, Sata would have had no other option but travel abroad to do exactly what current opposition leaders have done. The only thing that would have prevented Sata are scandals he had caused in some of these countries like South Africa being caught with several hundreds of undeclared dollars, UK – passport scandal and Malawi being deported. I see completely nothing wrong in HH and Mumba going to SA for press conference.

  19. The introduction to this story is misleading.

“Ruling PF Deputy Secretary General Bridget Atanga has charged that the move by leaders of the opposition to hold a news conference in Lusaka is a sign of total madness.”

Was it not supposed to read?

“Ruling PF Deputy Secretary General Bridget Atanga has charged that the move by leaders of the opposition to hold a news conference in Rosebank, South Africa is a sign of total madness.”

  20. Life gets so confusing when u know what u’re loosing : This is exactly what’s happening with the so called opposition in Zambia. In my opinion I don’t think any of the 3 HH, Saki, and Nevers qualify to be leaders. These guyz have no principals at all, And I really don’t know what they stand for.

  21. this Atanga chap should not think everyone is free the way the maggots in PF are..stop wanking in public if you don’t know..swine..

  22. Very useless dull opposition. Apa pena baitaya ba opposition. Which normal Zambian can support them?? No one. If they continue in this undefined manner of political behaviour, they risk loosing support very soon. I dont know why these opposition has become so immature. They have no alternative policy for Zambians except for insipid opening of their mouths. What a dull opposition Zambia has been subjected to now…I pity for HH and Mumba coz come 2016 , they will lose terribly.

    • As mozegator said “Time,Time ahey ni time yabo” keeping it in the family. Zambian presidency is turning into a family business. Let’s not despair all this can be changed by the power of the ballot vote wisely next election ‘simples’.

  24. Fill in the dotted lines and you’ll be surprised that al of them they come from Muchinga and Northern and related to Sata and the wife.
