We Are Geared For Lesotho-Katongo

Share

Chris Katongo says Sunday’s game against Lesotho is the first step for Zambia to push its claim to finish top of Group D to keep the Brazil dreams alive.

Zambia enjoy a three-point lead with six points in Group D heading into this weekend’s game against bottom placed Lesotho who have one point.

“I think the mood in camp is fantastic everybody is looking forward to this game I think this is another opportunity that Zambia should use to qualify to the World Cup,” Katongo said.

“We should try and capture this opportunity because this opportunity does not come most of the time.”

Zambia need to win their remaining four Group A matches to secure a place in the final qualifying round of 10 in November.

“We cannot wait for this opportunity after four years again some of the players won’t be around,” Katongo said.

Sundays game will be Zambia’s first competitive game since their group stage exit from the 2013 Africa Cup in South Africa where they failed to defend their crown.

    • I can’t wait to watch Katongo shooting ama over-the-bar… I really enjoy the way he get “shocked” holds in his waist at akimbo, then spits amate. Pulls his socks, awaits for Kalaba, who passes to him, then afulumuka Katongo, but this time he runs faster than the ball, turns around, but luckily enough most of the time the best player Issac Chansa is behind Katongo. Pass back to Nkausu, who swings in a powerful cross…. and Mayuka don’t know how to trap those, so its a throw in!!
Sunday is just too far mwee!!

    • @Nostradamus, you’re right. Have you ever wondered what has happened to Muyaka since our AFCON 2012 triumph? The lad is almost entirely invisible in most games until you see him being replaced. What is this nonsense of saying “bachimumaka sana”? Does he expect the opponent to leave him alone when it’s not in their interest to concede? How do Messi and Ronaldo manage to score when every defender knows that they are the guys to watch? Our strikers must just be more innovative.

  1. If u can add CLINICAL FINISHING to that pressure u had mounted on Burkina Faso …. ninshi chalila pa ZED!!! Wishing you all the best.

  2. You said the same thing for Ethiopia game but what were the results? Different from the fact that you were ready to defend the cup.

  3. Thats what you always say…. ”We are ready”, and yet you keep on disappointing the so called Chililalila supporters in Zambia…… Shame!!

  4. Its about goals not feelings. Katongo and his boys aren’t doing enough to master the skill of scoring goals. I predict a 1 all draw.

  5. Lesotho here we come this time around zambia means business. viva chipolopolo it ll be good to watch zambia at the world cup for the first time.

  6. Do not under rate Lesotho or else U’ll be shocked, Play as a team please not kulibwenesha! we need goals not dribbling….

  7. Our coach also fail to read the game and when he makes substitutions he puts in wrong substitutes. I wonder why he doesn’t give Sakuwa a chance to begin.
