Kitwe United are the new leaders of the FAZ Division One North League following their 2-0 victory over Ndola United at Garden Park Stadium in Kitwe.

Jacob Phiri scored a first half brace on Sunday to help ‘Chingalika’ displace Indeni from the top spot on superior goal difference.

Also sitting on seven points are Mufulira Blackpool who maintained their second place with an away 2-1 win over Prison Leopards in Kabwe.

  1. This is the best news since Bread was invented, The Buchi Boys are back. By the way this name ‘Chingalika’ for those that know Kitwe United well has never been their name. Kitwe United was always know as the Buchi Boys….

  2. I agree with you Allen. I was born and brought up in Buchi some decades ago and was naturally a fan of Kitwe United. There was never a time I heard Kitwe United being referred to as “Chingalika.” Even on John “Kazman” Mulumba’s radio sports programme, it was always the Buchi Boys. I still remember players like Joseph Mwepu, Jack Kafusha, John Lumbwe, Mike Tembo, Neddy Bwalya, Gordon Shipunga, Vincent Mandona, Nelson Mwenge, Luka Lolozi, John Banda, John Moke and Luka Mulenga. All these lined up as the “Buchi Boys.”

  3. the silent one,
you have forgotten me, jabulani sibande, john chimbwi, pascal kunda….
otherwise its good to know that buchi boys has also produced boys like you.

    but ku buchi kwansele takwaba.
    its now called ‘stupid country’.

  4. The ‘Silent One’ not sure if you remember names like Ba Chachacha, Stephen Makungu and Biwell Chibwe. Chibwe had trials with Aston Villa while he was a school boy at Kitwe Boys but ended up being poached by Zambia Army when he went for national service. There was also Ba Emment Kapengwe and not forgetting the great UCAR Chitalu… Have a great day and glad to know that there are people out there who still remember the Buchi Boys.

  5. Ba Chachacha was once my coach for Kitwe Wolves, a nursery for Kitwe United where we had players such as Kabwe Warriors coach Dick Ngwenya and late David “Abedi” Mutale. Ba Jaulani Sibande was my prefect at Mukuba Secondary School. I do not know how I forgot about him. Yes I remember Stephen Makungu, Jack “Soweto” Mwila, Happy Malama, Beawell Chibwe, Godfrey Sakala, Savior “Teacher” Bwalya and Saviour Mwaba.

  6. The Silent One, we need to get together and have a chat about the Buchi Boys… A couple of things I always remember about the team:

They made a trip to Greece spnsered by the Greek community in Kitwe.
They once organised a football match for the blind
One of the first teams to fully own their own team bus
People used to pay to watch the team in training at Buchi Stadium.

Sadly all this is now history…. but I guess when we finally get the right leadership the team with get back to it’s rightfull place.

  7. Size, cost, safety features hot tub time machine cast and installation are other important factors to be kept in mind before going for this
    option.
