Fighton slams ref Jani Sikazwe after Nchanga loss

Coach Fighton Simukonda has blamed Kapiri-Mposhi FIFA referee Jani Sikazwe for Nchanga Rangers’ 1-0 loss to Nkana in Saturday’s home FAZ Super Division Week Nine match in Chingola.

Sikazwe sent off Rangers defender McDuff Chungu just after the break before dismissing Nkana’s goal scorer Kelvin Mubanga a minute before the final whistle.

Simukonda said he was disappointed with the way Sikazwe handled the match.

“I am very disappointed and furious. We played well but it’s because of the so called much officials,” he lamented.

Sikazwe further produced more than 10 yellow cards.

“He (Sikazwe) didn’t know what he was doing maybe the game was too big for him. I don’t know what we have done to referees,” Simukonda added.

Mubanga inked the solitary goal in the 69th minute as league leaders Nkana cruised to a rare win at Nchanga Stadium to increase their tally to 22 points.

Nchanga lie 4th on the table with 14 points.

Their next match is against Zanaco away in Lusaka this Saturday.

  1. Ba Fighton , I think it is better to move on and think about your next game with Zanaco ! If you lose that one , don’t blame the ref but start hunting around for a new job !

  2. I think if a former veteran player cries foul, we need to listen. A referee in the status of Jani must listen too otherwise he will put his work in jeopardy in future at a higher level. While Fighton is my man (as a Nkana supporter), and I am glad our team won, I will nevertheless, try to listen as to why Mr. Simukonda cried! Go Nkana, go!

    • Coaches always cry foul when they lose ! By the way , Nkana had a goal disallowed and were also complaining about that ! However , that guy is one of the best refs in Zambia ! Fighton should just get on with it !

    • Being a veteran does not mean that he is always right- no wonder ba president bativuta. Let him point out the decisions that the ref gote wrong. Did McDuf Chungu deserve the card? Was the goa conceded genuin? Did the ref stop Nchanga from scoring? Answers to these questions will help those of us who did not watch the match appreciate the criticism of the ref.

  3. I am a Nkana supporter and i didnt like the way Jani officiated,it was very poor 10 yellow cards and 2 red cards.

    • Giving a lot of cards is not a problem, but where those cards genuin? I mean did the players who were shown the cards deserve it. We did not watch the game so give a good picture.

  4. Jani Sikazwe licentious not ashamed not afraid of God ..la have a conscience nor morality Jani Sikazwe does not deserve to be a football referee gave a failed and very racist and very unjust
