A group of people this morning stormed the BIGOCA Church in Lusaka’s Matero township and beat up worshipers who had gathered to participate in the ‘Black Friday’ Prayers over the removal of Fuel Subsidies. It is alleged that the group was armed with pangas, axes and hoe-handles.The alleged PF youths arrived in hired buses at BIGOCA and closed the doors and windows of the church building and started beating people indiscriminately.

Among the notables present were Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) vice president in charge of political affairs Michael Kaingu, Bishop John Mambo, Emily Sikazwe and Andrew Ntewewe.Bishop Mambo, a stern critic of President Michael Sata and his policies, was among those who were beaten.Andrew Ntewere was also beaten.

Journalists who were caught up in the fracas were not spared as a Zambia News and Information Service cameraman was brutality beaten.

11 CSO’s had planned to hold a rally at the Freedom Statue but Police denied them a permit to do so,the conveners then opted for an indoor meeting which included the prayer meeting this morning.

  1. So nishi PF normal freedom of assembly or association… Guys lets condemn this kind of Violence..the other day it was Lusambo being beaten and forced to support Subsidy, now its worshipers!!!!!!!

    • Who will welcome Sata from Japan, will it be those PF cadres??? I can’t wait and see if your president Sata will command arrest of anyone who will be in PF colors. This is supposed to be the end and deletion of PF. Truly this was a black friday for Zambian.

    • @saulosi
you piece of s.hit!!! those people went to pray to their God!! they are suffering as result of stupid bye elections and removal of subsidies,,
The primitive PF magots have/had no right whatsoever to beat those people up

    • @soulosi
At least a GALU can think and wont support a blood bath as zambia is one nation for all zambians to live together in piece despite their differences.. political or otherwise

Unlike you piece of s.hit whose best place is a sewerage pod not fit to be around humans because you cause ugly disease breakout!!!!

    • Ulichipuba sana. So you don’t see where this is going. You will be next. You think countries that have had civil wars knew it was coming to them. They were just as naive as you are. When people react to this, you will be the last person to stand. Don’t take people for granted. Is it wrong to say the govt has Thot right about the subsidies but the implementation is wrong. The removal of subsidies is a Process. You don’t just wake up and announce. Withdraw your statement you fool.

  2. These pigs think that zambia is SATA’s toilet? primitive *****s,how do you beat someone for having a different opinion from you? anyway,we understand SATA a.k.a the butcher of chawama is the father of violence.

    • SATA AND HIS KABIMBA CLIQUE MUST GO !! This is the reason why early on after his elections he was
Mugabe’s best friend in order to take an in depth lecture on dictatorship! Zambians…..normal Zambians can not let Zambia retrogress back to one party dictatorship you morons!!! ALLAH ACHBAH !!!!!

  3. These people were praying in church and not protesting on the street for goodnes sa….! these PF magots are lossing their heads,,PF has gone nuts!!!!!

  4. This is totally unacceptable! How can such things be happening in Zambia? In a democracy people are entitled to have a different opinion than the ruling parties. It makes really sad reading.Lord please save Zambia from evil men.

    • Remember what mr Bones (Guy Scott) advised his PF cadres before 2011 polls? Defend yourselves! What happenned today should not be allowed to be repeated. Arm yourselves next time.

    • Whether they were using the name of the church or whether they are fake bishops or not is immaterial. It is wrong to beat up someone for exercising their rights. This is not the kind of change some of us voted for. This is barbaric and so is everyone who supports such actions!

  5. Look at those guys in the picture. Black like Sudanese trained Janjaweed with nothing but death in their eyes. And that chain with bits of sharp metal? I dare Wynta Kamusatanyo ko to say that he isn’t training militias! Zoona its ‘doti kubeba’ with PF!

  6. HAHA..Only pa Zed. The only place were politicians will resort to prayer without offering alternative policies. What would they have done different with respect to these subsidies. We must stop presenting problems to God that we ourselves are capable of sorting out. Its an insult to God. I would like to think that politicians can reason and decide.

    • Those re not words of a true GOD’s whorshipper, the bible teaches us not to curse but to pray 4 our enemies. Men shud learn to seperate politics 4rm prayers, or else de devil will take advantage of u bcoz of your double standard (Jesus n devil).

    • The house of the Lord our God has been turned into a political conference room, de devil will take advantage of u bcoz of your double standard (Jesus n devil) n will never cease to beat u. U cant save 2 masters at same time.

  7. Shocking! I am just about to relocate to Zambia from the UK. These images look like the images from 15th century England when blood brothers and sisters used to butcher each other like wild dogs! This is the image we are giving to the rest of the world – I am so embarrassed to be Zambian right now…

  8. We going 25yrs back stupid backward people you cant let people express themselves freely. How are the people going to express themselves . You really have gone to far this time you uncouth pf caders beating people in a place of worship you have no respect for anyone not even the lords house. You have wat is coming to you VEGENCY IS MINE SAYS THE LORD. And some fool says you cant mix politics with church . Oh yes you can. You can go in church to pray about anything thats bothering you. If the if the removal of subsidies is hurting the people then they can pray about that any where and church is the better place because its the house of the lord.

  9. ‘Sata’s supporters beat up opposition activists in Church’. This is the common headline in newswires and on news websites from countries as varied as the UK, South Africa, Pakistan, Kenya , USA etc.

    I like this!

  10. Mwanya Very soon Your chi president will die soon and those *****s will see. Just the other day another dog kabimbia was dening a report from the american embersy that pf (political feaces) has good governance record. So to them this is good governance beating up people worshiping. Mwefibwa mwe you will even fail to back when time catches up with you *****s starting with your sick and dying president to are of you.

  11. It is heartbreaking that some bloggers, though in the minority, are supporting the barbaric acts of physical attacks on those who were peacefully exercising their rights to demonstrate their displeasure over an issue that affects the majority of Zambians.
I think time is ripe to kick out the PF the same way it’s uncle UNIP was removed.

  12. Unbelievable! This action must be condemned. The acting President must assure the people that the Nation’s security is intact especially that the Head of State is away. This undermines National Security considerably. You don’t raid a church full of people and get away with it. This is a test for Government especially the Police command and particularly the Ministry of home affairs.

Nothing short of apprehending these thugs and taking them to Court will assure the nation and the international community that peace prevails in Zambia. We can’t have the Haitian tonto macoutes kind of thugs here, then there’s going to be the break down of law and order as some people may resort to defend themselves. Then what next? This is horrendous!

  13. WHY ARE ALLOWING THESE RIF,RAF TO TAKE AWAY OUR PIECE AND SATANIST ARE BUSY SUPPORTING EVIL THINGS IN THIS COUNTYRY.CHANDA CHIMBA WE DID`NT LISTEN TO YOU NOW WE ARE PAYING WITH THESE FOOLS,DOGS,SNAKES I DON`T KNOW WANT I CAN CALL THEM MAY BE DEVILS,CHISATA MAD AND SICK DIE QUICKLY WITH UR TAILS.

  14. Mr President, you dont even fear the house of GOD. On whose commandments are you claiming to be ruling this country?

  15. PF ARE VAPIRES THIRST OF BLOOD EVRY TIME,WHEN IS THIS DOG CALLED [MALE CIRCUMSION SATANIST,[MCS]GOING TO DIE?COZ IF HE TAKE LONG THINGS WILL BE WORSE.

  16. I flew all the way to Zambia to come and vote for PF in the 2011 elections because I had so much HOPE and EXPECTATIONS for my motherland. My father had so much passion and support for SATA before he died on 09/10/2009 ! So I wanted to give SATA a chance in memory of my father !!! If my father had lived to see SATA being sworn in as Zambia’s president, he could have been very proud !
Right now, I think my father must be turning in his grave due to the path that SATA has taken ! HOLDING PEOPLE HOSTAGE AND BEATING PEOPLE UP JUST BECAUSE THEY HOLD DIFFERENT OPINIONS TO YOURS ??????
WHAT A DISGRACE !!! THE SAME HAGUE THAT YOU ARE WEARY OF, IS WAITING FOR YOU ! OF YOU ! YOU & YOUR KABIMBA CLIQUE !! THE HAGUE WILL IS YOUR LIKELY DESTINATION VERY SOON !!

    • You have the right to be angry-you were duped and it hurts. It is an insult to one’s intelligence. But never regret at least Sata was given a chance to prove most people right-that he is no presidential material!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. Even Jesus chased people who were using the temple wrongly .Do not use the church to gain political mileage.

    • @Robin
iwe ka Robin wood,, dont read the bible upside down! jesus chase those people because they were trading in the church,,,selling salaula and everything else

Those people in matero were praying,,, praying to God to be with them during these trying times,,, in fact they even prayed for sata and his urinary bag!

    • @Robin
If the congregation was gathering illegally do the police not have a way of dispersing crowds peacefully? An unarmed crowd at that.
There is a notable police absence to protect these people and a notable lack of criticism (in the strongest possible terms) in the aftermath of this incident.

It does not bode well for a once-peaceful nation.

  18. ther z no evil tht wl go unpunished under the sun. God’s judgemnt wl b swit on thes pipo.

  19. Those kaponyas must be arrested immediately, we do not need to allow that kinda behavior regardless of commits it. Cadres must be arrest and political parties they belong to should made to pay for the damages caused. Sata should come out in the open and condemn the behavior of those PF cadres!

  20. For a moment, I thought the picture was a scene from the Zambian version of “Django Unchained”. Political violence in churches is a shame to our country.

  21. How the man-of-action freely moved across the nation insulting and name calling, and no one stopped him!

    Anyway, you the minority voters!

  22. Very creative kubushilu,u have ways of portraying insults even when the site is programmed not to allow u lmao

Ati; Idio.t, chikal.a, Sata neo ko.if ur creativity was used positively zambia would be a better place

  23. To defeat political violence, ordinary Zambians need to rise up and say enough is enough. This is what ordinary British people did against corruption by their MPs. The establishment tried to stop newspapers from publishing damning information but people were not having it. In the end the politicians blinked and one by one they were outed and shamed. Similarly, Kenyans rioted because they had had enough. Now Kenyan politician know that their people can only take so much.

  24. These greedy guys should just admit that government’s post of money is now empty because of their careless spending.Logic would tell these thugs that Chakopa’s one year stay in Zambia is an imaginable carelsess drain on a budget sustained purely by borrowed money.Zambia’s economy is in the intensive care but is put under pressure by useless policies which are killing off small businesses but promoting their own companies.

  25. These greedy guys should just admit that government’s pot of money is now empty because of their careless spending.Logic would tell these thugs that Chakopa’s one year stay in Zambia is an imaginable carelsess drain on a budget sustained purely by borrowed money.Zambia’s economy is in the intensive care but is put under pressure by useless policies which are killing off small businesses but promoting their own companies.Every nation in the world is cutting on their spending apart from Zambia led by My Sata.He talked about leaders not for treatment yet when he became a leader ,he became a medical tourist leaving UTH without oxygen an water.

  26. PF listen and even good. Please if you dont tame your cadres, know that very soon Zambians will rise against you. Dont go the MMD way otherwise you will lose the 2016 elections if you dont behave. No Zambian can tolerate such stupid.dity from your cadres. Let people debate freely the removal of subsidies.

To the victims, you should also stop pretending to be bishops while you are politicians. Just come out in the manner Frank Bwalya has done.

Peace and prosperity to Mother Zambia.

  27. The end for the PF is nigh. If there had been any doubt that the PF cadre thugs perpetrating such violence had the ‘go ahead’ from their masters, that doubt
has been cleared by the sequence of events. But of course, the leaders and the
thugs on the ground, are from the same cloth. There is an African saying that; ” A
son sent to steal by his father, does not go steathily, but breaks the door with his
feet “. It is there for all to see now – except for those who still claim that the “emperor” has got his clothes on. There is another saying that “naked people offer little or nothing to society”

  28. What goes around comes around. These are the people MMD neglected; never took them to school, destroyed industry and order. We had a government full of educated people who ignored these young me and women. With what result today? See! I keep telling you Zambians that incidences never just happen, they are linked to a critical chain of events over a period of time. For your information: these Kaponya’s are the majority and they love their president with some passion. To unseat PF you need to strategise; otherwise mukose!!

    • thats rubbish, you cant talk faol about the education sector in the mmd days because it was under mwanawasa that primary education was made free of charge, in the intent that *****s like these would have a better education.

  29. Praying for subsidy is it a right or what? people die in road accident’s u don’t pray for them to stop.

  30. May the Lord deliver the Zambians youths from being used by selfish politicians and may the Lord punish the evil selfish politicians and their families if they don’t repent.

  31. The bible says touch not my anointed. If those people were truly praying to our living God. The oppressors have invited the curse and the ruth of God upon their lives.

  32. Sad day. How do we allow such Barbaric acts to happen in our own country. That was an act of terror. Terrorists are in our country.

  33. It’s kicking off in Zambia – hey! Africans are the most wicked people under the son. You thought you were immune to this kind of violence? Not any more. The signs were already on the wall. You vote in a pauper into the highest position in the land – of course he will have his hand on the nuclear button and won’t think twice but press.

It a shame but I think the country is now ripe for a civil war! House cleaning is now required by butchering the oppressors wherever they are found. Disturb their peace and that of their families as they have done yours.

You can’t negotiate with terrorists and violence should be met with violence. Hoefully, some army Generals will side with the ordinary people and oust this ugly and forceful PF government.

There is a time to KILL!
