The Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) has described as hypocritical Patriotic Front Secretary General and Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba’s appeal to the Police to investigate thugs that interrupted a Black Friday meeting at Lusaka’s Matero BIGOCA Church last Friday.
UPND Deputy Secretary General Kuchunga Simusamba argues that there is no need for the Police to investigate people who are already known to have been involved in the brutal attack.
Mr. Simusamba has told Qfm in an interview that the PF leadership can only demonstrate innocence from the attack if it facilitates the arrest of the culprits that took part in the violent attack.
Meanwhile Mr Simusamba says the resignation of UPND Southern Province Deputy Youth Chairperson Reuben Munyati will not have any impact on the party’s strength and popularity in the province.
Mr. Simusamba observes that much as Munyati’s resignation is regrettable the UPND has respects his decision.
He however notes that the reasons that Munyati gave for his resignation imply to some extent that he may have done it in haste without good judgment.
Munyati cited frustrations in the opposition party as one of the reason that led to his resignation.
