President Michael Sata has warned Chief Jumbe of the Kunda people of Mambwe district in Muchinga province that he risks facing the same fate as Henry Sosala who had his chieftaincy revoked as Chief Mwamba of the Bemba speaking people.

Speaking when he officially opened the house of Chiefs sittings in Lusaka this morning,President Sata told Chief Jumbe in the presence of other Chiefs to stop speaking ill of him if he wants to continue being a Chief.

Mr. Sata told Chief Jumbe to learn from Henry Sosala who had his recognition as Senior Chief Mwamba of the Bemba speaking people revoked.

He says Chief Jumbe should learn to respect him as president as he was duly elected by the people of Zambia.

President Sata further told Chief Jumbe to learn to respect authorities if he wants to continue being a chief.

Meanwhile President Sata has urged traditional leaders in the country to help sort out the land wrangles that are being experienced in the country.

Mr. Sata says he is concerned with the continued loss of lives due to land wrangles which needs to be addressed soon.

The Head of State says government recognizes the role tradition leaders play in bringing harmony in their respective communities thus the need for them to bring to an end the problems surrounding land.

Mr. Sata says his government will continue to work closely with the chiefs in ensuring that there is transparency and accountability in the issuance of land.

He has since appealed to all the chiefs in the country to take it upon themselves and see to it that they bring peace in their chiefdoms.

    • Ba Kolwe, please mention something that can be achievable. There’s more chance of a dog giving birth to a cat than Sata acting civilized.

    • I agree with H.E. Sata.

People should not make him look like he’s republican president to joke around.

Fred Mmembe should also stop intentionally making himself look bigger that Plot 1.

    • No wonder his wife is always out of state house. From Maputo she will be heading to India and from India she will be flying to Kenya, from Kenya she will fly to Malaysia all in the name of cervical cancer campaign.

    • @osadabwa iwe
mwati ni booza…kekekekeke … maybe the poor first lady is threatened all the time even in the presence of grown childern

    • You mean all the other chiefs were quiete when Sata was abusing this chief. We need pipo who can stand up to this man otherwise we are as good as gone

    • There is a big difference between warning and threatening/intimidation.

Sata was giving a friendly and timely warning to Jumbe. Nothing wrong with that. the onus is on chief Jumbe.

This brings me to the fact that Zambians are generally lazy people who love politicking a lot at the expense of developmental programs.

Sata is the right President for the lazy Zambians who only work when pushed or if the supervisor is white, indian or Chinese. if its a fellow Zambian they want to play ichimbuya at work all the time.

Its undisputed that Zambians fear white people , shiver in their presence and think they are superior than them coz they think whites are like gods

Work hard to develop your country, the development in other countries was no accident, but through hard work

    • It could be the beginning of the end. Evil ones usually lose it before they depart for the other side. The man is really a tortured soul never with a light moment in his interactions. Every time he opens his mouth only vile pronouncements make it out of his mouth. I think we need a medical board to ascertain his mental health.

  1. hahahah…that door in the picture has no sensor?,,, people have to hold it with muscle for the Ukwa to pass,,,

And why this man called Ukwa threatening everyone from the east

  2. There he goes again pissing people off! For the first time we are having a head of state wrangling with chiefs.Leave our traditional leaders alone please!

  3. I thought chieftaincy is inherited and a birth right of one born in the royal family. How can the president or anyone for that matter revoke something that is a birth right?

  4. Sata wants pipo to worship him. Get out man. That is so colonial. Let pipo voice out there opninion. Stop the threats.

    • Hey man. i agree with you. This acient thing thinks every one should dance to him. Let mpezeni and that slut in chongwe do the dancin. These like dancing akalela. Sata is a lumpen and we will treat him as one. Respect is earned.

  5. In a nutshell – Sata is telling Chief Jumbe to behave like the obsequious Chief Mpezeni of the Ngoni people!!

    • This reminds me of the uncouth tantrums of former President Rupiah Banda on senior chieftainess Nkomeshya Mukamambo II…who is the last man/woman standing today? When are Zambian presidents going to realise that they are merely passengers passing through.

  6. uncivilised for uncivilised country, those chiefs will campaign for him and will get all their subjects to vote for him, smart undemocratic tactic working well .

  7. Please Luska Times, check your geography. Chief Jumbe is from Mambwe district in Eastern Province and not Muchinga province.

    • @Kwena and Pmwandu. I just want facts correct as we read and blog on these sites. Mambwe district is in Eastern Province and was previously part of Chipata District and not Chama District as you say. It is in an area also commonly known as Malambo where Malambo Constituency is. This area is not in Muchinga Province.

  8. i thought that, he has no right to revoke the rights of chiefs. These they are chosen by their tribe. Mr President there you are wrong, you were chosen by People and you can be removed by people as well. chiefs are there until death

    • ..you thought wrong. The president in Zambia is empowered by the Zambian people to withdraw govt recognition of a chief. That aside, i think it is time we abolish chiefdoms. We dont need Chiefs anymore in Zambia, the entire institution is becoming redundant.

    • But he successfully managed to silence chief Henry Sosala and warned this one again.. If these chiefs can’t unite and critize Sata, a rat can not defeat an elephant.

  9. He looks more like a lone ranger than a person that is presiding over a group of intelligent level headed people. As the saying goes and I quote “Absolute power corrupts”. He seems to be doing things on his own and his statements in public do not sound as if they are well thought out. This man is slowly digging a grave for himself if he does not change his ways.

  10. The president’s admirers and beneficiaries should help him and tell him that respect is earned and no amount of threats and intimidation will do.

  11. This is the problem I have about these chiefs, everything you hear is that there are in state house being addressed by Sata,it’s wrong. Why?Sata is a son.Just because of money there are being reduced to small kids.Chiefs like mpenzeni, nkomesha there are a disappointment to say the least.Chief Jumbe don’t be intimidated stand for the truth, stand for the people of Zambia.

  12. Sata is simply decampaigning himself and the entire PF.Why is Sata so obsessed with bald-headed people? It’s now getting out of hand.I believe something is terribly spiritually wrong.Sata needs Salvation and deliverance from witchcraft and demons, especially the snake spirit demons.Zambia as a Nation has no spiritual covering, which is supposed to be provided by him as a President. We need serious prayers.

  13. Address your unruly carders then we can talk about respect you, if woman can be undressed by your supporters in the name of patriotism then you are not worthy of any form of respect. Chiefts will always be there but you on the other hand will be wiped out like a common plague

  14. O-Oooo, these people have lineages going back hundreds of hears, uzausa vimbuza uko ukwa, uzaiona and uzalila jamalende…don’t mess with such lineages, wachepa sana!!

  15. Respect is earned Mr. Man . The massage is clear they have bugged all chiefs palaces now. We are officially back in the Kaunda days NO FREEDOM OF SPEECH. The chief is actually right Paramount Chief Mpezeni was out of order campaigning for Mangani and PF …What a shame we are letting our lovely country go into reverse gear.. Intimidation and abuse of Citizens are now the order of the day…

    • @ Mushota, I accuse you of being a dick!!! Do you plead guilty or innocent! Whatever you say is either rubbish or boring. And why do you always have to insult innocent people? Waba ito le ci colour ca wiso!

  16. what are the chiefs themselves saying about this? they have became part of government workers because of the salaries they get from Government, they can’t even give their own opinions because they are on government payrol. shame. the chairperson from the house of chiefs should also talk on behalf of his chiefmates they should not be pushed like ordnary people. I would advise them to stop getting salaries from the government so that they are independent and free from the devil.

  17. people are missing the point. The point is that whether the chief likes or dislikes Mr. Sata as a person, he has no choice but to give him the respect he deserves as President of the Republic of Zambia. In fact respecting any person for that matter is good manners which I expect anyone to have, more so the chief. The office of the President commands respect from every citizen, chiefs included. A chief therefore will not disrespect the president and get away with it. Zambia is not a monarch and chiefs though they inherit their positions, are subordinate to the president. That is why the President lives at state house and Chief Jumbe lives in some village somewhere.

    • That thing you call a PRESIDENT must respect other people. RESPECT is earned. If someone begins to talk and behave like a kaponya, we take him as one. That comment om father Bwalya and HH, even if it is infact true, was said in VERY BAD TASTE. Hey guys, listern to obama for once. Obama choses his words very carefully, even under great provocation. FTJ was a good and wise fellow in his choice of langauage.

  18. i ugly hate Sataboyo…damn!! this man is so ugly such that when am read his news on my laptop i try by all means to hide his picture from scaring my childrens…WHY are BEMBAS so UGLY????

  19. There is absolutely no problem with the president. If any chief disrespects the president, he must be told. The president is the head of the Republic, elected by the people of Zambia. His position commands everyone’s respect, whether they like or dislike him personally. I may not like my boss but I am required to respect him because of the position he/she holds and if I cannot do that, I must resign- simple.

    • I totally agree with you but do you support the way HEMCS is doing it? Recently it was the minister of FA who was corrected publicly not only publicly but rudely. I think its not right

    • Iwe ka Christopher Mulenga. What crime did the chief commit? Complaining in private that our paramount chief should not be paraded at a PF rally like a cadre. Is this private complaint disrepect? Would Sata parade the Chitimukulu or Litunga at a campaign rally? Let him continue bugging our conversations and he will hear worse things

  20. Sata must know that respect is earned and you earn it by being the first one to respect others. Threatening the innocent Chief is a defensive mechanism by Sata to try and shield his failure to govern the country. I can assure you, that was more damage done to Sata’s already dented image. You cannot talk to a Chief or any other person in public in that manner. As president, Sata is even supposed to be more aware than any other person on how to conduct himself in public and other official gatherings. What we are seeing is not befitting a president. The other day Sata insulted HH and Fr Bwalya at a public rally that they were born from single mothers. How can you have the entire president sinking so low? What sort of person is Sata? One day he will also be disrespected.

  21. Why threats to the chiefs are becoming common? Please let us less in harmony as per 10 commandments.

People find time to read the face-book page for Joyce Banda, one can only admire such leadership qualities.

  22. When RB threatened to revoke the Chieftaincy of Nkomeshya, Sata was the first one to criticize him for being disrespectful to a traditional ruler. Now that roles have changed he is doing exactly the same thing. And in his anger he has now proved the Bemba Royal Establishment right that Henry Sosala’s dethronement was done out of malice and was without merit. Anyway, he day is coming and very soon.

  23. Ba cobra walking on water look at pic again. Ummm Ili bad. Looking at creatures surrounding him like insects.

  24. Sata is a curse on Zambia. He is very destructive and does not deserve to be president. Okay, the majority now recognizes that they messed up by votting into office such a pathetic figure. He is simply is not presidential material and his daily utterances are next to nothing in terms of building Zambia. Chiefs are traditional leaders and no one has any power to removing them from their thrones unless via their own traditional mechanisms. Sata is wrong and deserves to be told that he has brains of a criminal!!

  25. These chiefs are to blame. That’s what happens when you mix politics with tradition and culture. Mpezeni gleefully makes a mess of his etiquette by campaigning for Mangani, Litunga sends his emissaries to accompany Sata on his political campaign trial. Mwanachingwala urges his subjects to support Sata. The list goes on and on.

And when the cobra spits, you want to complain? Your royal highnesses are greedy for thirty pieces of silver. You have had it coming. He will hammer you until you corporately reclaim your turf and dignity and say “No” to intimidation, manipulation, corruption and bloody money.

  26. The Zambian Presidency has really gone to the Dogs. Can’t believe this is coming from someone who should be a head of state.

Zondwa has gone mad, behaving like a rabit dog. Can’t wait to say ROT IN HELL

  27. Wen u insult de President u fuls do u think 1 spare u if found physically? After all, u embaciles dere is nothing gud u say about Sata.Even dat was very good. Jumbe is one of those that were demonizing Sata b 4 .Even dis time?Ataa bane!

  28. I recently visited Zambia and it’s so peaceful and people are going on with their businesses and construction of roads and houses are all over both in the urban and rural areas and I just wondered where these web papers like the WD get their alarming stories.

    • Stop cheating Ben Kangwa, you propagandist of the PF ,thousands of poor tax payers money are wasted in keeping you glued to online publications defending the un defendable.Market the country thats why RB sent you there for ,okay!

  29. Bill you don’t know Zambians have always been peaceful since Kaunda days
that’s nothing new, construction doesn’t mean anything just like America most of which is debt
