Algerian ref for Ghana-Zambia Showdown

Share

FIFA has appointed Algerian referee Haimoudi Djamel for Zambia’s final
Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifier against Ghana on 6 September in
Kumasi.

The 42-year old who handled the final match at the 2013 Africa Cup of
Nations in South Africa earlier in the year is regarded the right man
for this crunch encounter.

MTN Football reports that he will be assisted by compatriot Abdelhak
Etchiali and Moroccan Achik Redoaune while another Algerian Mohamed
Bichari will act as the fourth official.

Kenyan Nicholas Musonye, Secretary General of the Council for Central
and East Africa Football Associations (CECAFA), has been appointed
Match Commissioner and Mohamed Bahou, also from Morocco as Referees
Assessor.

Djamel was the same man at the middle when Ghana beat Congo 3-1 in a
2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, also played on a Friday,
November 6, 2011 at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Chipolopolo must beat Group D leaders Ghana to advance to the final
round of the 2014 World Cup qualifier.

    • Almost neighbours?not true. Ghana is quite far from Algeria. Noone lives in the southern part of Algeria cos its a desert. They all live far up in the north. Nevertheless stop looking for excuses. We will just win referee or not

  1. Please Chipolopolo mwikabasuminisha ukwingisha pantu you want to set an offside trap napapata…. the agony is if the Assistant’s flag will remain down:(

  2. Be ready for a draw or otherwise, fact is Ghana is going to Brazil not us please dont attack me, am just preparing you!

  3. “FAVOUR” IS ON OUR SIDE, GOD’S FAVOUR- TUKAPITAPO PALI BA GHANA. JUST WAIT FOR 09/06. ALL THE DOUBTING THOMASES AND THOSE WHO WALK BY SIGHT AND NOT BY FAITH WILL PROVE IT AFTER 90 MIN ON THAT DAY.

  4. Chipolopolo is set to win the final encounter with Ghana. I will invite you to join me to support our national team in World Cup 2014 in Brazil.

We will sing together in September, Brazil here we come.

  5. The FACT is Renard is out of his depth and CAN NOT win AWAY in KUMASI a very slim chance if it was in Accra but not in Ashanti. CAF can use Zambian officials if it so wishes it won’t change the outcome.
Let coach Kwesi Appiah take the Black Stars to the play-offs then head to Brazil and represent our continent at least we will be guaranteed of exciting games on TV next year.

    • We can not let Ghana go they dissapointed us once, what will stop them from doing it again. Lets try fresh blood (Zambia) you never know.

  6. Le the winning team win. I think going by the peformances in the qualifiers Ghana are a better side even if Zambia is my country the truth should prevail. The teams we have drawn against away and at home have been butchered by Ghana with wider margins. But let us look at a bigger picture Africa. We need a stron team at the world cup like Ghana. Any good luck Zambia, bye.

  7. same thought too,if we can draw 3 games at the Afcon,2013 in south africa which i personally watched at mbombela and drew in Lesotho and in our own country with sudan how do expect our chipolopolo to win in Kumasi?Let the Black stars win and we must pray for a 1 nil loss for our integrity to be maintained.Critisize me if you are unreasonable i will tell you these guys (our players) are my friends and i party with them in midrand south africa so i am not speaking bad about them but the truth.

  8. 4 points for the 2 draws in Lesotho and Zambia we lost means if we had won we could have already qualified to the last round of qualification even if we loose 6 nil in Ghana

  9. Arabs in most cases are not in favor of Zambia, I mean they would not like to see Zambia progress to the next round, Just wait for Sep. 6th,

    • Excuses all the time even when your opponents is down to 10 men and you are leading you will always blame someone for the loss but yourselves.

    • The better team on the day will win BUT that is half of the work done as there are still play-offs for that final world-cup place which let’s face it Renard has no chance of going through even if he EVER won in Kumasi….better the Black Stars go as they are WORTHY CONTINENTAL representatives. This is not our turn to go we need to build a better team and get new progressive minded administers in Football House not the CURRENT self-serving corrupt EMPTY SUITS that are eagerly drooling for the world cup so that they can line their pockets with tax payers money as GRZ will write them a blank cheque.

  10. I have come to realise that Zambians like to give excuses. The game is not even played yet but people have started giving excuses. Like it or not Zambia lost its opportunity in Maseru against Lesotho and in Ndola against Sudan. They should have won these two games and the rest would have been a formality. The Zambian national soccer team is not even good enough to play at the world cup otherwise they will be like that small island country of fishermen that played in the confederations cup.

  11. I am beginning to worry that Zambia will play Ghana on a Friday on 666th – a dooms day of September. Doesn’t it make one think twice?! Why does Ghana like to put the game on 666th dooms day 🙁 . I vividly remember in 2012, they (Ghana) applying to CAF to play a game on this dooms day. On that fateful day, Ghana beat Congo 3-1 in a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. The game was played on a Friday, November 666, 2012 at the Baba Yara Stadium, where Zambia will be playing.Hullo!
