Alliance for Human rights and Governance on the Copperbelt has added its voice to those calling for the resignation of Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba.

The civil society organisation that comprises different Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) on the Copperbelt has wondered why Mr. Kabimba issued a statement threatening to close down the Public Media Institutions.

Alliance for Human rights and Governance Copperbelt Secretary General Charles Mwambo said in a statement released to ZANIS in Ndola today that Mr. Kabimba had failed the Zambian people.

“It is unthinkable for someone of his standing to intimidate journalists and threaten to close the Public Media. Where is he drawing the authority to cross Ministerial boundaries when he is not a Minister of Information?” Pastor Mwambo said.

Pastor Mwambo said the civil society was concerned with the internal wrangles that have rocked the Patriotic Front (PF) party regarding the office of the Secretary General Mr. Kabimba.

He noted that the confusion in the PF has resulted in the failure for Mr. Kabimba to effectively function as Justice Minister hence the need for him to step down.

Pastor Mwambo said the civil society was dismayed that Mr. Kabimba was taking the country backwards when President Sata was working hard to deliver development to the people of Zambia.

“Mr. Kabimba has created a standoff between his office as Minister of Justice and the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) as regards the appointment of Acting Chief Justice ChibesaKunda to which he, as Minister of Justice was supposed to provide leadership,” Pastor Mwambo said.

He said Zambia needed a Justice Minister who is impartial, dedicated, committed and sober minded to deliver.

The Pastor added that it was for this reason that Mr. Kabimba should resign to pave way for the much needed justice for the Zambian people saying the Justice Minister had become a liability to the nation’s justice system.

Pastor Mwambo said if Mr. Kabimba remained Justice Minister he would be a drain to national resources and a waste of tax payer’s money.

    • And that’s why Man-of-God, Jesus, beat-up people trading in the temple….
Minister of Injustice Kabimba has turned Zambia into a house of evil does!!

    • There is reasonably nothing wrong with any one’s thought, such as yours. However, remember, however, that, real pastors use the word of God for doctrine, correction, reproof, and instruction as is reflected in 2Timothy 3:16.

    • They must preach Love indeed, and must advise where it is necessary. The situation obtaining in the PF now is not good for our country. When the ruling party is in shambles all the development suffers. This is where all concerned citizenry must come in and offer timely advice especially the clergy. But also justice must be practiced by those who hold the justice positions.

  1. leave him after working so hard for pf to be in power you want to chase him today just becoz his not a bemba.go at the pulpit and preach the word of GOD instead of misleading people.

    • I and a lot of Zambians voted for PF primarily becoz of President Sata. Even if we had a frong for SG, I still would have voted for PF. To us Kabimba is like any other politician, could be the same level as Chikwelete.

Never went to a Rally that was addressed by Kabimba….

  2. Eating a mouthful of groundnuts can be tasty, yum yum. But if and when one of them is rotten, you will spit out all of them. So to enjoy that mouthful lot sort out that one rotten nut a.d have peace of your yum yum taste.

    • What the point of keeping a player in the team if he or she is gone bananas and causing his team losses in competitive games.?

  3. This is a paid pastor, tribalism is real in Zambia. Leave Kabimba alone, the guy is hard working. The people trying to getting him out are eyeing huge government contracts. It is just common sense, it is disgusting to see the coverage of those coffins, it is sad the preachers are in support of such reporting nonsense in public media. Growing up, I never thought tribe was a thing but Zambians can know smile the rotten bemba section in the country. I am kind of bemba and assumed of the behavior from this tribe.

    • What hard work are you talking about? He is just one stubborn and arrogant chap! Anyway, the person to blame in all this nonsense going around at the expense of national development is Sata himself-your president is a weakling and to some extent I would not be totally wrong to call him a coward!

    • what did he do for pf to win? Kabimba came from benny mwila’s ZRP party with his girl friend masebo who joined mmd. Pf fired edward mumbi no tribal talk, fired mulenga no tribal talk, fired davies mwila no tribal talk. Firing kabimba is tribal coz thats what tongas are.. ”Triba elements”

Mr president you a man of action fire kabimba.if this decision is no taken pf ll not govern properly. This nation shud not be ruled by mmembe and post.

  4. Please people Office bearers are never removed or disciplined through public media statements otherwise we are creating a banana republic. I think we are now tired of this kabimba vs something and it is almost becoming annoying. Can the president or whoever has power make a statement so that the country can move forward. What have we zambians done to deserve such treatment from the pf. Surely we voted for better things than this

    • The country has no president otherwise, as you said the president would have sorted out the issue. In fact that is precisely the reason why it’s free for all ministers to make statements.

    • You thought u were voting for better things when u believed in donch kubeba! Yet u knew that the calibre in PF was far from delivering quality service and better things. Sort it in 2016

  5. I am not a politician and my comments are developmental.Like observe by many regionally etbhically and politically it will be a mistake to barnish kabimba What can be done is to call for a boardroom meeting and do postmortem and lay fresh mandate on kabimba with clear sanctions if not achieved.A falloff of kabimba will be a minus to gov and its simpathises who may not see the difference in inclination with other parties Remind him of his old days as kitwe town clerk and simply see through his mistakes if any and here him out.Of course others may be more than kabimba as presidential candidates in all provinces which is true people like GBM are more acceptable but you still need the flavor of Kabimba.

  7. Are you sure the president is back? Lusaka Times sure the president is still studying this rubbish going on in Zambia that he can not comment up to now. Chita, kaya.

  8. it all started as folows:(1)kabimba has presidential ambitions and the man publicly denied(2)kabimba has refused to resign as he cals the pf youths as street kids and it passed(3)then came the tribal clique which we all can see and it passed fast too(4)kabimba has disclosed that he knows people who were taking money to cb and choma to pay those who would say kabimba must resign(5)now is the threats on the closure of of out dated daily mail and mwamba’s pay master.i think kabimba may have weaknesess just like sata and deserves to be heard too.it also seems each time kabimba says something in defence, the enermy takes it as an aportunity to further weaken wynter stance.the question which sata must ask wynter enermies is”what has wynter done?”

  9. What has kabimba in the first place?ls it Presidential ambitions at this particular time? Then sir u are wrong. But if it is being anti illegalities by pf cadres u have my support. When is it coming to an end?

  10. they should also call HH to resign, he has over stayed giving hope to his tribesmen which never comes.

i don’t know kabimba and what he has done for the country, all i hear is that he is not bemba but some mixture of tonga and lozi

    • I think calling for Sata to resign because he lied to the poor Zambian people would be sensible. He has increased the cost of living for them. The high cost of ubunga and many other things like fuel and transport has reduced money in people’s pockets; total opposite of what Sata preached.Nurses and local government workers are now striking because Sata and PF did not pay them what was promised.Majority of farmers have not been paid for the maize they sold to FRA as promised. With Sata and PF its lies, lies! The construction of roads is simply a continuation of MMD projects and I am worried that these projects will not be completed because of Sata and PF’s careless spending habits. They borrowed $750 million eurobonds, and its all gone. Now they want to borrow more from the world…

    • PF now wants to introduce a range of taxes such as breathing tax, bearing children tax , sickness tax and road user tax(toll roads) in order to meet the criteria to borrow more from world shylocks(IMF). They have also finished the K3billion reserves left by the MMD.
Under PF only those high up in PF and government are benefiting. The majority poor Zambians are worse off each day that passes. This explains why cadres are now invading and sharing private land.

Sata resign please before Zambia is completely destroyed!

  11. I do support for winter to step down but from a different angle,he was the masterminder in all unnecessary by elections,he had a hand in controlling the supreme court judgments of Dora ,& team, that’s why because of the wrangles he has found himself in the supreme court decided to postponed judgment to a date unknown.he is a hypocrite,he knew that pf was a tribal party in its appointments but he allowed himself to be used as a pawn.he has one party mentality, its difficult to distinguish which position he talks from pf sg or m of justice.

  12. “……..Where is he drawing the authority to cross Ministerial boundaries when he is not a Minister of Information?”
The real culprit in this saga is the president hisself, Mr. Sata. He keeps quiet when he is required to assert leadership. I don’t see any president anywhere in the world who would remain so silent when his ministers are busy slugging each other in the media. The man who should resign is Sata, the architect of this acrimonious method of leadership, not Kabimba. The president was fully behind Kabimba when the ACC summoned him. The ACC was ordered never to interrogate any of his officers without his permission. He went to the ACC fully armed with violent and savage cadres intimidating the ACC into silence. With a background like this, live him alone. Mumbwe ukulila…

  13. bebe, GBM is digging fast for Kabimba’s fall but mark my words GBM will regret of having started the war with Kabimba, Nchito, Musa Mwenye, Mahtani, Scott, Malila, M’membe and their media and financial muscles.

They tamed Mwanawasa, finished Chiluba and RB. Sata can have peace for himself and his family, if he hands over the reign of power to the clique peacefully and gracefully, ELSE, it is wide written on the horizon.

GBM will be crucified and hanged pretty soon.

    • Please spare us your own imagination. There is no cartel in Zambia as you so imagined. MuMmembe and all his cronies including Mahtani will be squeezed, should they act funny.

FYI – Your MuMmembe and his felloe minion Mutembo Nchito refused to initially give back former President Rupiah Banda’s passport, even after the President said he can travel, but who the hell are they. R B flew to SA yesterday, coz President Sata has now seen through these bafoons lies.

Stop daydreaming, come back to reality.

  14. More the paid NGOs and Cadres talk, more they expose themselves.

GBM is finished and lack political clout and sharpness.

He is a kid in this game of adults.

  15. The clear truth is that Kabimba is not Bemba; there is no performance score card. The some wise can abate Bemba tribalism the better for Zambia; just diplomatic appointment. Its so sad

  16. I wonder whether some of these people are genuine pastors. Where on earth do we have pastors who preach hatred and have got deeply under the skin of politics ? By the way, if pastors are entailed to preach love, unity and preparedness for the second coming of the Son of man which is the genuine stance of the Gospel and the word of God, how have some of these so called pastors deepened themselves in politics where no truth is spoken about ? If politicians are liars who do not fullfil what they promise the electorates, then I asume these pastors are also fake liars who are just there to serve their stomaches. I cannot waste my time listening to such a useless pastor who does not stand in truth in the eyes of God. Balefwaya fye babomfwe kuli ba Sata pakuti babapele ka brown envelope.

    • Ba kalamba, did the pastor state that he hated Mr.Kabimba or did he just ask him to resign. The Pastor has asked Mr. Kabimba to resign and given his reasons. Since when did the act of asking someone to resign become an act of hatred. The call for Mr.Kabimba to resign may even be a blessing to Mr. Kabimba. So let us not see hatred or tribe in the Pastors advice.

  17. You thought u were voting for better things when u believed in donch kubeba! Yet u knew that the calibre in PF was far from delivering quality service and better things. Sort it in 2016.

  18. EVERYONE, EVERYONE! HOW DO KABIMBA’S WORK OR DISPOSITION AFFECT ALL THESE GUYS?

ITS ALL PART OF THE OPPOSITIONS’ MANEUVERS. ONCE WYNTER IS GONE, THEY WILL THEN FOCUS THEIR ATTTENTION ON THE CHIEF JUSTICE.

    • We don’t care whose there as Justice Minister. Any illegality will be pointed out and corrected.

We got a constitution which the President is the chief custodian.

  19. Since when did NGOs speak about internal matters of a political party. Ine na dabwe sana. These are fake NGOs and Pastors pa Zed mascaleding as men of God

  20. @berett.yes sata may need to pay allegiance to the cartel who i doubt if they vote, even then their votes can be counted on your fingers.but also consider the bemba land voice who are hurt by sata’s silence on kabimba.don’t also forget that people are more exposed to information than in kk,ftj, lpm and rb time.thats why you find that even hh can win a seat in cb even if he is not cover in Post,Daily mail or znbc tuvi.

  21. Sponsored TRIBAL NGOS have waken up. Let WK be disappointed by the appointing authority let alone a convention.

    • FYI, Wynter was hand picked by President Sata, he was not voted for at the Convention, and thus does not need to go attend one.

Wynter Kabimba stood as MP in Mumbwa in 2001, lost terribly. He again stood his time on the PF ticket in 2006, he again lost terribly. The minion is simply not electable. He needs to thank HE MCS for at least having allowed him to have a Job.

  22. To all fellow blogger, that like talking about a so called Cartel comprising Fred Mmembe, Mahtani, Mutembo, Kabimba, Matibini etc. Please know that there is no cartel in Zambia as you would like to imagine.

MuMmembe and all his cronies including Mahtani will be squeezed and that’s a fact, should they act funny.

Wynter Kabimba thought he’s bigger than the PF, we respected him like we do everyone else. He overstepped his boundaries.

  23. Even though they are using tribalism to hound out kabimba from pf, it is good news for the opposition as this will devide the pf making it easier for the opposition. Kabimba knows a lot in pf and wont be flushed out just like that. He will go down with pf. Watch the space. Pf is vulnerable. It has no real base, no plan forthe nation, nothing. Very easy to bring down.

    • Let me assure you that MCS will never let Winter down. They suffered together, laughed, cried and fought together when Emmnueal Mwamba was reporting on other people. Kachepa in order to get a job….. Let us be fair people.. The PF original team is Sata, Scot and Winter..Like it or not like it.

  24. These are i.d.i.o.t.s paid by Kambwili and GBM. Who told them that Kabimba makes all these decisions alone? Is it Kabimba who appointed the acting chief justice? Is it Kabimba who brought in the Malawian judge? Why don’t they ask MICHAEL SATA about that? Or is it again a matter of because Michael Sata is Bemba and so Kabimba the non-Bemba should die for all the wrongs of government. People should be very careful how they go about these things. This is tearing the country apart. I never really knew Bembas could be tribalists to this extent. It is very disappointing.

    • …you should have known that Bembas are always tribalist… you foo.l – why cry now?
Anyway, Kamimba is always quarelsome almost with everyone – his conduct and arrogance are his undoing!
Well, he doesnt have the monopoly of arrogance and how wonderful and great that others have risen to the occassion to show him that they too can be even more arrogant than Kamimba!! Things will never be the same with your master and you better stop mourning for the most hated fella because it’s self inflicted!

    • @ CHILYATA

I don’t even know what your name means, but from its sound it seems to mean an unexpected child. Learn to respect other people’s views. I’m not even PF. I know you are a Bemba tribalist, just enjoy yourself – it seems it gives you pleasure that every time you read about Kabimba being condemned you go and w.a.n.k yourself!!

    • @mulupa & Chilyata
Bemba people in general are not tribalists. Exorcise that thought out of your heads, it will only confuse you. If one Bemba chap practices tribalism does that mean the entire Bembaland is tribalist? FYI, if the story in the Daily Nation is to be believed, Kabimba’s actions are fully supported by Sata, and according to this story he is his chosen heir to the presidency, if there is such a thing. You should learn to rise above tribal leanings, it ain’t healthy.

  25. What if the question was …”Why shouldn’t Wynter Kabimba resign?”. Possible answers would be:
    1 .He hasn’t done anything wrong…”really”
    2. He has the right to be in a predominantly “Bemba speakers party”
    3. It s not a crime to have presidential ambitions in someones personal to holder party…”really”
    4. He has the powers to close down public media institutions…”really”
    5. He was handpicked not elected so who ever doesn’t like him should first deal with the appointing authority…
    6. He has too much unfinished business under his ministry which only he can finish with predetermined results!!…”maybe…”

  26. Now the clique is not only after Kabimba to step down but after his blood as evidenced by the coffins they paraded in public and widespread campaign. They will not stop until they kill him.

  27. Yes, indeed pastors like this one must preach the word of God but this one is preaching hatrade! Nosense! Ati tuleteka.

  28. Loudly or softly, a media complaint remains a complaint. Any individual dissatisfied with the media coverage has the right to bring it forward for consideration. That is exactly what PF Secretary General and Justice Minister did. It is unacceptable to start accusing him of intimidation and threats. Just stick to the issue that was raised by him. If it is a genuine media complaint, then address the media issue through apology or appropriate remedies. Do not be proud. Pride comes before a fall. What if he sues you instead of just complaining to you directly? That would mean costs and protracted legal battles. reconcile quickly. And move on. You are the one that is intimidating a senior government official.

  29. Those Non-governmental organisations are supposed to remain non-partisan !! Are they taking sides now??? This is NOT FAIR AT ALL !! And actually IAM beginning to feel sorry for Kabimba and definitely give him my vote right now!! After all, he is also an educated dreamer !! There is nothing wrong with dreaming big, people !!! Try it !!!

  30. (1) These pastors are very corrupt. Remember how they used to get cash from Chiluba’s slash funds.

    (2) They used to make all sorts of public statements about christian nation just to solicit for funds from Chiluba. So this Pastor has been paid by GBM and others.

    (3) Disgruntled intelligent dreamer can we also form an NGO and issue statement in support of Kabimba? We should do that without pay.

  31. The problem is not Kabimba but those that used money to enter the PF. How do you remove the owner of the house??? Shame……
