PF Deputy Secretary General has revealed that both Goodson Banda and Robert Chikwelete have been barred from contesting the forthcoming District elections.
Mr Chikwelete is a Councilor in Chawama Constituency who forcefully toppled Mr Banda for the position of District Chairman after weeks of internal wrangling.
Mr Chikwelete was officially declared Chairman of Lusaka by President Sata during the official launch of the Pave Zambia road project in Chawama.
But State House issued a statement weeks later denouncing Mr Chikwelete and denying that President Sata never endorsed him for the position.
President Sata through his Spokesperson George Chellah encouraged the two faction leaders to wait for the elections and prove their popularity.
But in a sudden turn of events, PF Deputy Secretary General Bridget Atanga confirmed to Journalists in Lusaka that Mr Banda and Mr Chikwelete will not be allowed to vie for the position.
Mrs Atanga explained that the two have been barred to allow for fresh leadership and put an end to the wrangles in the district.
She also noted that the party is hopeful that President Sata will soon call for an emergency central committee to table the petition against Secretary General Wynter Kabimba.
Mrs Atanga also refuted reports that Friday’s central committee meeting refused to table the issue of Mr Kabimba’s stay in the party.
She said the issue of Mr Kabimba was extensively discussed and that a resolution was arrived at Mr Kabimba should be present before the matter could be concluded.
The problem is that PF has no spokesman. They humiliated the best PR person in the country – Given Lubinda, who can also make an orderly Secretary General

The PF spokesperson is the secretary general. Lubinda was not PF spokesperson but government spokesperson.
But there is no proceedure of suspending any one so far…….You just wake up and say, you are suspended…..As a party you need a structure to suspend and expel.. Well said but the president has mishandled this issue giving the impression mmembe, guy akacott muzungu opusa, kabimba are untouchable and they control him.
I feel for chikwelete, he was recognised by the president himself personaly at that grand pave zambia 2000 ceremony as pomp and circumstance was the order of the day.
PF is a democratic party. We are so democratic that WE decide on who should exercise their right to seek office within our party. In Eastern province we appointed Mangani because we did not need provincial elections for chairman there. In Lusaka, it’s different. We will decide who stands for the position of chairman and we will also decide who should win.
We are the most democratic party in Zambia!

Both Banda and Chikwelete will be sworn in as diplomats next week. That’s how much we love those who cause confusions in our party. They’re barred from elections not from promotion.
When did you ever hear us say that our party was for good people only? all we have said is that it’s for all people, all people! Who told you that GBM and Wynter are fighting? They are simply expressing different opinions. Since both of them desire to be president of Zambia they are free to challenge each other, we don’t care how many years are remaining before we send you to vote for us, well, for us again.
Please, someone give an update on what exactly Goodson Banda did wrong. For Chikwelete its straight forward you cant allow such characters to take part in democratic elections.

pipo are poured all sorts of tribal remarks over this kabimba issue. The point is, even if kabimba was ngoni,bemba,ila,tonga,lozi,kaonde etc he should ve not said what he said being the ceo of pf. Kabimba backed by his cartel friend mmembe went off mark.
I now understand why guy ”muzungu opusa” akacott was the first to be fired by FTJ as minister. Sata shud ve fired guy akacott,kabimba and sever all relationship with past newspaper.

Madam Atanga why are you always talking about Kabimba issue when the President said people should reconcile ? You seem to have a problem as well.Are you not satisfied with Satas advice or you want to take over the Party if Wynter was to go ?
This Atanga woman failed to explain why Banda and Chikwelete were barred from contesting the elections. She just confused herself by going round in circles and in the end said nothing of substance to convince people why the two were barred from contesting the elections. That just goes to show how confused the PF is. They have no direction. And they are failing to make decisions. How can a party in power mismanage itself in this manner? The PF have failed to instill confidence in the people who elected it into government. It is very shameful to have a person like Bridget Atanga who can’t articulate issues clearly in that office. You could see that even she did not know what she was doing and saying. The PF is a dead party and people must admit it. They have just ruined our country big…
