Chiyangi bemoans poor 2013 season

Acting Zanaco head coach Aggrey Chiyangi has bemoaned his team’s failure to defend the FAZ Super League title.

Zanaco are 4th on the table with 46 points, 9 behind leaders Nkana, with two games remaining before the season closes.

The Sunset outfit cannot catch up with Nkana after Saturday’s goalless draw against Konkola Blades in Lusaka.

Chiyangi said Zanaco lost the title chase way back when they dropped points in crucial matches.

“It is not this draw that has made us not to defend the title. It is the games that we lost and drew in the past games that we played before,” he lamented.

Chiyangi noted that this year’s Super League campaign has been tough.

“By now we could have expected that the team that is going to win is above 60 points but you find that so far we do not have a team that has reached 60 which means the competition was there. It has been a very competitive season .”

Zanaco’s last two opponents are Zesco United and Power Dynamos

“We we are going to approach the next two games with a serious mind, you know when Zanaco is playing against Zesco and Power it is a serious game and the goodness is that even the players themselves take it very seriously I think they are going to be very interesting games but our focus will be to win the games remaining.”
