Patriotic Front (PF) Lusaka Province chairperson Geoffrey Chuumbwe has questioned where Julius Komaki draws his authority to act as interim Lusaka District vice Chairperson when the Lusaka Province leadership does not recognize him as such.

Mr. Chuumbwe has told Qfm in a telephone interview that it is for this reason that he cannot respond to Mr. Komaki’s accusations that the party’s resource mobilization has suffered under his leaderships and that of Goodson Banda and party Secretary General Wynter Kabimba.

Mr. Chuumbwe says he cannot waste time to respond to a statement made by a person whose purported authority does not have the recognition of the party hierarchy.

Meanwhile, Mr. Chuumbwe says such confusion as being perpetrated by Mr. Komaki are some of the acts delaying the holding of districts elections to elect a new leadership as directed by President Michael Sata.

Mr. Chuumbwe has maintained that once his committee has access to the documents held in the Lusaka District office which the Police have stopped them from opening, the Lusaka District chairmanship elections will be held.

And former Lusaka District Chairperson Goodson Banda says the party in the District performed very well under his leadership contrary to Mr. Komaki’s assertions that resource mobilization under his leadership suffered.

Mr. Banda has told Qfm in a separate interview that the only time the party has performed badly in the District is during the confusion and intraparty wrangles that led to the closure of the party District office.

He has since advised Mr. Komaki to tone down and allow the due process of electing a new party district leadership to take its course as opposed to brewing further confusion reopening the District office.

    • Mr. Chuumbwe, you should know WHERE that authority comes from. If you as the “recognised” Provincial Chairman and the “recognised” Former District Chairman Goodson CANNOT be allowed by the POLICE to access the District Office, but the “so called unknown and authorityless” Komaki just comes out of hospital and unwelds the Grill Door to the district office.

      Typical Panga Family administration.

  1. Where indeed is he getting his authority considering he is at the bottom end of the food chain in the party? In my post yesterday, I indicated that for a junior officer to behave this way, he must be drawing clandestine authority from high up. How high up in the party hierarchy, we all speak in whispers and undertones and don’t want to say it! The question again is, WHO REALLY WANTS KABIMBA OUT? Come to think of it, they are not even telling us what evil he has done to deserve expulsion! I ask again, WHO REALLY WANTS KABIMBA OUT?!?

    • Are you sure you do not know why they want Kabimba out or you just want to inter your head in the sand like an ostrich?

Is not Kabimba who was shouting wolf about a tribal clique and corrupt elements in PF that he has failed to prove? Kabimba has brought the party into disrepute by failing to provide evidence of his unforgivable claims.

And so you ask why they want him out! It is either you are a joker or an extremely naïve person or Kabimba’s booty licker.

    • @Sara, St Jude is right. Let the real people or person behind the anti-kabimba come out in the open. The charges of tribalism and incompetence came long after the whole saga had started. It is part of the effect and not the cause.

      WHO really WANTS Kabimba Out!!!!!!!

    • @Sara
You could be the one who is extremely naive, or you deliberately refuse to follow issues the way they are. Just like @Mwami Bazungu (4.3) points out, Kabimba only talked about tribalism when the chaps in the lower ranks of the party sustained the noise. He said he was naive because he did not earlier realize what was going on. What I believe is that he doesn’t know to date who really wants him out!!!

    • It’s only you St. Jude who knows nothing. Don’t just ask without having any clue of what you are asking for. SG has failed to run the party, we all know that the President will not hound him out of the party but the people will do that on his behalf. If the President wanted SG to stay he could have protected him from the protests and issued a party directive to keep him. So you now know who wants the SG out.

    • @IT Rout,When did you realise that Kabimba has failed to run the party?Mind you,he was the SG when you won elections. When did Winter fail???

  2. Wonders shall never end in this country under the unable leadership of PF…as long as people do not burry their heards in the sand even when they see flows in the current mis-government. Look at the streets of Lusaka and the rest of the towns in the country, the cost/standard of of living, nepotism, recless spending of taxpayers’ money by ministers, the issue of the constitution, behaviour of cadres, etc. Yet some people still see development by the current crop of leaders. NO! Come on country men and women. There is no Economic-Political progress if people’s lives especially the common man in the compound and in villages are not affected positively. IT’S ALL JUST RHETORIC, HOT AIR.

  4. WHY HAVE THE POLICE NOT BROUGHT THIS GUY, KOMAKI ,TO BOOK FOR MOUNTING AN ILLEGAL CHECK POINT ON A PUBLIC FREE WAY?

MEANWHILE, PLEASE ALLOW ME TO JOIN OTHERS IN ASKING ABOUT THE EVIL MY SECRETARY GENERAL HAS DONE WHICH HAS ATTRACTED THE IRE OF SOME INDECENT MEMBERS OF THE PARTY?
    WHY BA KABIMBA?
    HOW DID IT ALL START?

  5. @ Bbautu

You say, “The common man in the compound and in villages are not affected positively?”

Name one country in sub Sahara Africa, and the world generally where a common man is NOT affected by the economic malaise brought about by the oil prices?

Which country in Africa has embarked on such massive infrastructure development?

  6. Well Mr. Chuumbwe, as you know by now, there is the A-Team where you draw your authority from. But there is also Team Big Boys, where Komaki draws his authority from.

  7. Komaki belongs to a government cadres that has built all the shanti compounds in the country and those that have survived out illegal activities at the markets and bus stations. There’s no wrong kabimba has does. komaki, demon stop yo nosense!

  8. PF need to take their insanity elsewhere and not preoccupy the nation with their way of life, fighting, hacking and killing each other. LT is public space to debate national issues of development and not party criminal activities. The senior PF officials and president are still alive (not yet hacked to death) can call for a party conference and stamp authority to stop the rot in their ranks. This is free advice at no cost and hope common sense will prevail to pick this timely caution.

  9. Komaki draws his authority from GBM. GBM is quietly operating underground on two main issues, he is working with both the bemba chiefs and the Komaki team. Ever wondered why he is so mute of late?

  10. They have survived out of the markets and bus station..kabimba has not done any thing wrong.l think Nsanda is behind komaki 4 this is his background pa KMB in kitwe.

  11. Common sense, he draws his authority from those in power and that’s why you and your Banda cannot even break and work in your District offices. If you are well recognized and legitimate but cannot operate in your offices then you are as good as been mere cadres without portfolios. If others who are not legitimate can break the doors and operate in those offices under Police protection, then count yourselves as spectators.

  12. Thats a good question from Chuumbwe, Komaki is a very simple and quiet guy. and when you meet him, you will be surprised that he is behind all these. However, where is getting all this authority?

  13. Now it seems pf cadres here are debating showing us on whose side they belong to,Kabimba or Bemba’s GBM. Now look at this: 1. Komaki + GBM =Sata. 2.Chuumbwe + Kabimba=Sata. For more clues see Mmembe’s editorial for today.
