Chief Government Spokesperson Mwansa Kapeya has reiterated that government has made admirable progress in providing employment to the youths in Zambia.

Mr. Kapeya, who is also Information and Broadcasting Services Minister, said government has made admirable improvement in job creation for the young people in Zambia.

He said that the Patriotic Front (PF) government has only been in power for two years but it has been able to create jobs for the youth in the labour, health and many other sectors of the government.

He said this in a telephone interview with ZANIS in Lusaka yesterday.

Mr. Kapeya said government was however aware of the many youths who were still unemployed in the country.
He explained that government cannot assimilate all the unemployed youths at once.

Mr. Kapeya said employing youths was a gradual activity as government has to create employment opportunities first before people find jobs.

The minister was responding to the accusations made by opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) national youth chairman Likando Mufalali.

Mr. Mufalali, who is also Senanga Member of Parliament (MP), charged that government has run out of employment creation ideas for the youth.

He was quoted by one of the private radio stations in Lusaka saying the Patriotic Front has literally failed to address the high youth unemployment levels in the country.

  1. sometimes it is wise to shut up than to bumble like kapeya is doing. when you create employment, you wont have to announce because everyone will see for themselves. not jobs created only on paper. nonsense

    • Matipa, you are right. Kapeya is destroying the very PF party that is feeding him by announcing wrong items that are not factual. Remember iwe Kapeya that we are now educated and can only be convinced by facts. As it is, you are telling lies. Show us your figures. Ciza uli?

  2. The government has made admirable progress by filling up Mwansa Kapeya’ s stomach with all kinds of food. It has created a lot of fats in his body and he has stopped thinking.

  3. sometimes i think these guys have bet on who can say the most annoying things everyday. Right now Kapeya takes top slot and Kabimba comes in second but wen Sata opens his mouth, both these are relegated from premier league to division one immediately.

  4. Of course yes with govt.job portal inclusive only bitter ones can disagree. I am getting enough money and am banging the young sister to Bana HH (Muntinta Hichilema).Timachayoko ija ya kuseni ati Kanshinka kaputula (panti) or kazusa kuseni.

    • You must be proud being the first one to make an i..diotic comment. Haleisa Halenya will be annoyed especially that the cunnilingus (look it up o dull one) he got from your mum was not to the standard that you promised.

  5. Is it drama ba kapeya? Count hw many jobs hv been lost & compare 2 yo substandard jobs yu claim 2 hv created. Be serious, don’t dramatise serious issues bwana.

  6. Ministers are literally tripping and falling over themselves to defend failed policies….. just for a good meal on the table?

  7. We can only support bashimwansa our colleague and classs mate at kitwe boys to work with local job boards ministry of labor employers and educational institutions to work out a refined data base of labour statistics that will go towards tracking the gains made so far and help gov see and resolve the gaps

Creating a data base of the total employment population the effect labour force and participation rate age , losses ,labour creation rate as percentage of entrants projected labour force etc.

look at the numbers and refined to ensure the ground and monitory and avoid speculations

  8. Mr. Kapeya, please, can I have just a glass of what you have been drinking as the world you see in your mind can only be created under extreme intoxication or level of intelligence insulting arrogance well bellow basic human decency.

  9. Zambians can talk but we should know that we don’t need to wait for the government or PF to create jobs it is the duty of all zambians who have means to do something ;to come up with some projects in order to fill up the gaps in our communities such as voluntary projects whereby the youths can come for free training in manual jobs.Remember we don’t need degrees to succeed in life but a good preparation for any eventuality in real life i think we can learn a lot from the animals the way they prepare their little ones we can do the same for our youths and we can create a better place for everyone to live in polically, econmically and socially. The power is our hands let us work togheter as a nation striving for perfection in all areas.May God bless ZAMBIA our motherland.

  10. Most economies have employment as a corner stone of all policies with the US more pronounced Nothing is done unless its seen towards that goal

Comments on employment statistics are not complete unless mention is made on the labour force unemployment rate employment creation rate marginal productivity for any added labour recourse to growth in GDP and inflation etc.

The key is to have a proper developed data base housed and all portals feeding in with support from HRM institute ,job boards and Ministry of Lab our on a quarterly basis maybe to ensure regular and refined statistics

  11. I wonder if this i.d.i.o.t of a minister lives in the same country as the rest of the many poor Zambians struggling to make a living.
