Defiant Munthali reports for Nkana pre-season training

Power Dynamos defender Christopher Munthali has reported for pre-season training at Nkana defying an order to return to Arthur Davies.

Munthali’s loan stay at Nkana expires on December 31 after spending the last 12 months in Wusakile.

The defender reported for training on Monday afternoon together with three other Nkana players who were given two weeks leave following their recent return from international duty with Zambia at the 2013 Cecafa Cup that ended on December 12.

Munthali enjoyed first team action at Nkana this season whom he joined after a frustrating battle to try and get a first team place at Power.

His form at Nkana saw him earn his first Zambia call-up April and was also a key member of the teams 2013 Cosafa Cup win and 2013 Cecafa Cup third place finish in Kenya.

Meanwhile, strikers Reynold Kampamba and Festus Mbewe including midfielder Sydney Kalume undertook a light workout on their first day back from leave for pre-season training at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.

And also back in training was midfielder Kelvin Mubanga who was sidelined with injury during last Friday’s training.

Nkana has returned for early pre-season training ahead of their 2014 CAF Champions League preliminary round tie against Mbabane Swallows of Swaziland in February.

  1. Aba yellow why? you had MUTHARI he was nothing(IKULA) to you, today he is a STAY naku NATION TERM, you re forcing him to return to POWER why? MWASEBANA BAKOLWE can you
PAY him what he is GETTING to NKANA.While Your PLAYERS you can’t PAY them. PLIZ lets us mke yo PLAYERS be KNOWN to the WORLD. US you know we re 13 TIME CHAMPION. “GO KALAMPA GO”. Kuli na CAF DON’T 4GET.

    • Ba Tumelo you are a very dull chap, when you loan someome to another team you give them conditions that he must play every game eg Chelsea have loaned Lukaku to Everton and Victor to Liverpool its not like they dont want them NO, its because they want them to improve so Muntari shouldnt be pompus coz he is still a Power Dynamos player. So Ba TUMELO ubufontini tebo.

    • @kopala . Munthali will definitely put in a transfer request ! And NO , loan does not mean playing EVERY game ! Loan is for playing REGULARLY ! REGULAR is not equal to EVERY ! The Coach still picks the team ON MERIT !

  2. He is a PDFC player who was just on loan at Nkana. The issue is simple. If Nkana really want him, let them negotiate with power. Who knows maybe PDFC wanted him developed fully at Nkana because he was assured of more game time.
Let Nkana start courting their neighbours if they want him.

    • @ George you are somebody who is making sense ! Loaning a player is for more game time ! I don’t have the statistics , but a large number of players who go out on loan don’t return to their parent club coz they prefer to stay at the clubs where they get more respect (Maybe let’s have some statistics on that ) !
And National teams do not select bench warmers . Munthali was a bench warmer at Power ! Clearly Munthali does not want to go back to Power ( at least not now , with Power having no continental football ) ! It is unhealthy to cling onto a player who does not want to play for you ! Expect a tranfer request from him soon !

  3. I conquer with u LCD Munthali was always on bench wn he was at Power and he doesn’t want to go back and become a passenger again moreover he is on payroll at Nkana and it was at Nkana that he started featuring in the Nation team .go go Kalampa aba red one Munthali. why shld he go back wn power players don’t get paid at the monthend him he gets besides the allowances.
