FAZ Super League side Red Arrows have placed club head coach George Lwandamina on an indefinite forced leave.
In a statement issued late on Thursday night, Arrows spokesperson Misheck Kalembwe said Lwandamina has been placed on forced leave together with his assistant John Musonda.
Kalembwe said the club’s decision is based on the duos performance in the last three years they have been incharge of the Zambia Air Force side.
“We wish to inform the nation, our dear fans, club players and the football family that Red Arrows FC has with immediate effect put Mr George Lwandamina and his first assistant John Musonda on administrative leave,” he said.
“The reason for the development is purely performance based on the three seasons the duo have been at the club,” Kalembwe added.
The club has since appointed assistant coaches Songwe Chalwe and Charles Kafula as caretaker coaches.
Last season, Lwandamina guided Arrows to winning the Barclays Cup.
YOU WILL REGRET THE ACTION TAKEN.
YOU FIRE BEMBA COACHES AND REPLACE THEM WITH OTHER BEMBA COACHES -No progress bembas are crooks , they fake evrything, CV etc
@Anyoko,i thought i was been petty ,thanks that you have noticed the same we are in trouble!
hate tem or like them bembas like any other Zambian tribe are here to stay.
The fact that bembas are the majority and embrace other tribes make them more socially accepted compared to some other tribes that want to selfishly keep to themselves.
No one stops other tribes to come out and interact with others the way bembas do
ANYOKO, You are backward. YOU NEED TO RENEW YOUR MIND. YOU THINK LIKE A VILLAGER. DONT BE TRIBAL.
IN EVERY REGION OF ZAMBIA THERE ARE GOOD AND BAD EGGS.
GO TO COURT, YOU WILL FIND DEFILERS, THIEVES, FRAUD STARS,DRUG TRAFFICKERS WHO ARE NOT BEMBA.
Its a shame that everything in Zambia is now tribal. Did you know that the statistics shows that the majority prisoners are from Eastern Province and other provinces follow? Why do find joy in insulting Bembas? Ask the Rwandis and Central Republic what tribal conflict can do. Stop insulting Bembas just like Bembas should also have mutual respect for others. One Zambia One Nation is the way to go.
@Umwaume, you are a MAN. Thanks for your positive vibes. If only other bloggers could be equally level headed. Shame on them.
Zed is still rotten, not coming back.
Canada can be rotten too in its own way
LETS JUST ACCEPT THE FACT THAT THERES NO OTHER TRIBE THAT EMBRACES OTHER TRIBES OTHER THAN THE BEMBA SPEAKING PEOPLE AND AM PROUD OF THIS.
Besides, Bembas are good footballers compared to other tribes. These other tribes just imitate. NI ma kula maningi especially ba tonga bamene bakonda kunyenga n’gombe
Irrelevant comments!! So disheartening that people still talk like this. The issue is George is suspended due to unsatisfactory performance. The topic is soccer not tribal.
It’s a sad development in Zambia where coaches are just hired and fired at will. Zambian coaches should team up in order to protect their integrity.
@Mighty. Maybe we need to give Arrows a break here. The team has been regressing over the last three seasons. They were second in 2011, fourth in 2012 and fifth in 2013. Any sponsor would be worried, and rightly so. We can only hope that the administrative leave is meant for soul searching for the two coaches to come up with strategies that will get Arrows out of their slumber. Winning the Barclays cup last season shows that they have the required pedigree to get it right in the league.
Most of the prisoners in Mongu are bembas !
Who said that bembas are the majority and they are socially accepted? From my experience, they are not socially accepted at least outside Lusaka, CB and bemba areas !
Coaches! Just a couple of weeks ago Kalusha passed a comment that Zambian coaches are not ready to drill the national team, and he was condemned for having passed that comment. I thought the likes of Lwandamina could probably be considered for that job in the near future but it is disappointing to learn that even at club level the man has been rejected! Indeed we still need foreign coaches, preparing the young ones is the way to go.
Why? This is the coach that guided the team to Barclays Cup victory last November. Arrows finished in the upper echelons of the league. Zambian football administration, Kibutata sha.
No tribe is superior to other tribes in zambia. Stop tribal quack vibes. Lwandamina is not even bemba. He is Kaonde from NWP for your info.
