Ex-U23 star Chinse appointed Kalulushi coach

Share

Kalulushi Modern Stars have named veteran midfielder William Chinse and striker Joseph Bwalya as caretaker coaches.

This follows the departure of coach Dick Ngwenya who has joined promoted FAZ Super League club Nakambala Leopards.

Kalulushi are currently preparing for the 2014 Division One North season after being demoted from the elite league last season.

Chinse and Bwalya have been incharge of Kalulushi since the club kicked off pre-season training earlier in January.

The two local veterans have no coaching experience.

Ex-Under-23 winger Chinse has played for Nkana, Kitwe United and Power Dynamos.

On the other hand, Bwalya has played for APR of Rwanda, Nkana, Power Dynamos, Kitwe United, Kabwe Warriors and Konkola Blades.

Meanwhile, an official at the club said Ngwenya never reported back for pre-season training at Kalulushi prior to joining Nakambala.

Ngwenya pledged to remain at Kalulushi when the club suffered demotion last November.

  1. As a young boy growing up in Kitwe’s Buchi compound, I knew Dick Ngwenya as a not so talented but confident defender from Kamitondo compound. He played for Kitwe United, Mulungushi Chiefs and Zesco United, if my memory serves me well.

    • I played soccer with him @ young Mutondo Stars with the guys like Chrize,Makamba and Jerico Shinde’s young a guy Alick. This Dick guy we used to call him John.Him and Makamba were the oldest in our team that was coached by Alfred Razaki Lupiya and the late Isaac Condar Phiri. Our home ground was at KPF. Eish I remember singing the famous song-Mutondo wantolokelafye

How nice to read your comment, brings back memories of Mutondo at KPF, abena Martin Sebele, Evans Mwewa, Jeff Lukeke, Albert “Alube” Chomba, etc, those were the days

    • Brian, those were the days when football used be enjoyable and tantalizing to watch. The game that will never be erased in my mind is when Mutondo stars won the heroes and unity cup after playing Strike Rovers three times-first game in lusaka-draw,2nd game-Auther Davies stadium kitwe-draw and lusaka independence stadium finally won their first silverware.I remember missing lunch just watch Mutondo in action.Ba Fordson Moore Kabole was the coach then. You left out ba Jansen “mapalo Kafula, alfred banda, monday mulenga, davy big 16 mwape, cox,

MY QUESTION IS HOW DID THIS SON OF SOIL GET SUCH A NAME?

I AM SETTING UP A NAME SHOP IN THE EAST ONCE I GET AN ENVIROMENTAL LICENCE FROM THE CHAP WHO …….. LOWER ZAMBEZI.

    THANKS

    • I think condar was the nickname, can not confirm whether that was his middle name. Any way Abena Zeddy ama Coaches pa NKANA RED DEVILS can help with the name as he was so close to the late Isaac Phiri (mhsrp).I remember meeting Zeddy at the house of the late in Wusakile Miseshi when my friend and I visited the late Isaac Phiri during the time he was sick.

  4. It was calda Phiri or Koda but not conda. Abena Diggers, I agree with you, Dick was not so talented but confident. I first saw him play for Big Coke with the late Godfrey “Spear” Kangwa, Aseli which was good team and won promotion to Divison. Then Dick trekked to Kabwe United, and Spear to Nchanga. So abena Diggers you are the ones who used to beat those of us coming from chimwemwe
